The appointment was easily made. Their facility is a very large medical building on Lincoln Street. Parking is no problem in their lot. This practice is on the second floor. I sat in their rather small waiting room. I was asked to fill out a seven page (7 PAGES!!!) firm y. I've designed forms before and this could easily be revised to four. Within minutes, I was shown to the exam room. Doctor Kendra Maher breezed in. Happy, friendly, efficient, thorough. She cut my nails, sanded them, tested my feet with my eyes closed for sensitivity because I am a type two diabetic. My nails went off to the lab for determining the nature of my fungus, not very severe. She is very knowledgeable about relieving pressure on my feet. I felt she was genuinely caring and wants to see me back in mind weeks. She also suggested I avoid my current mail salon since that might be the origination if my nail fungus. In the interim, I had been getting good results with Fungi Cure OTC. On first blush, Framingham Podiatry is a good place to do business. Thank you Doctor Maher.

Despite not having a referral, I was given an appointment time only about 3 weeks out from the call. I should have been worried - what doctor has such good availability? I told the person making the appointment that as part of the care I wanted to be seen for, I needed a diabetic foot exam. Showed up 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment time to be told that I was 2 hours early (ok, maybe I wrote the time down wrong) but when I said I'd go run errands and come back the receptionist said to stay, and they'd fit me in. They did, an hour and 45 minutes later, or 15 minutes before the "correct" time. (That correct was in quotes because on visit number 2 the same person who said I came early told me that I'd given them the wrong phone number on the firms I'd hand written. Nope, she just transposed 2 digits). Ok, so inattentive or maybe inadequate office staff. After waiting another 45 minutes (so 1/2 hour after my "correct" appointment time) in the exam room, the doctor came in. She said I had a plantar fasciitis, meaning a callus that had grown fully into my skin. Five minutes of shaving that, and a callus on my other foot, then nail clipping and a prescription for my (sorry) fungus, and she was gone. No diabetic foot exam. Come back in 2 weeks. But first, wait 15 more minutes for someone to come use a machine to smooth the cut nails. Visit 2: no wait. Also, no doctor; the RN only sees me. She uses the file/smoothing machine on my calluses, trims my nails. And when asked for one, tells me that the practice DOES NOT GIVE diabetic foot exams - despite offering board certified foot care. Come back in a month. Visit 3 the doctor comes in, asks the nurse what she wrote in her notes about the callus I came in for at the first visit (meaning she hadn't even glanced at my file). Oh, wart! Let out some acid in it and cut your nails again. Cutting the nails and that topical medicine are what you need for that yellowing nail fungus (which seems not to have improved). No further visits for me! I suggest you stay away too.

One day, I decided to see a local podiatrist instead of the usual Boston contingent. Dr.Tarr checked me out, prescribed some very different orthotics vs. what I'd had been using, and VOILA! Walking again, PAIN FREE, for the first time in years! Later, after I was running for awhile, I developed horrible pain around my big toe. Turned out I had a bone spur on the top of my big toe joint. Dr. Tarr did surgery, and I was pain-free again. Such relief. He warned the spur could come back, but it never has. :) Lately, I've had to have orthotics re-furbished, and he and his staff were super and efficient. I love the staff. They were all collaborating w/Dr. Tarr on my chronic pain fixes, and they all have made my life so much better.

I went back in after another problem with these expensive orthotics and he left me on the way out with the words " I guess you won't need to see me again" . In my lifetime i have never had a dr say that to me when I was Leaving their office. I was angry. I now have a new podiatrist who had to modify his orthotics he sold me. I have absolutely No Respect for this man that is only about money, he doesn't give you any time. He couldn't be bothered. Shame Shame on you Dr Tarr!!! I almost called the insurance company to to get them to get the office visit payments back from him.
