Dr. Do is a wonderful Podiatrist! She is kind and professional! We recommend her wholeheartedly for any foot problems that may arise!

The first visit was scheduled for 330 for an ingrown toenail. We didn't get out until 6pm. Waited 1 hour and 40 minutes to see the doctor. Parking is limited. Follow up appointment wait time was marginally better. read more

Dr. Do is lovely, professional, and knowledgeable. The medical assistants are sweet and helpful. The place is clean and location convenient. However I must say that the receptionist Christine with the dyed red hair is incredibly rude and condescending. I bring my elderly grandmother to each appointment, and Christine consistently rolls her eyes and snaps at her. My family member gets nervous at the drs and tries to make polite conversation or ask questions, but always gets dismissed with blunt disrespect. I'm not faulting Dr. Do (hence the 5 star rating), but Christine needs to improve her patience and people skills if she's to continue working with the elderly population read more

I'm really hopeful that I can save others from Dr. Do and this miserable office. Dirty office, dimly lit, they spend seconds with you and don't believe your pain. Thank goodness I didn't process any further! Just a horrible human being. Very aggressive and unhelpful. Stay far away from this terrible office. I think she should be reported to the board of health and license revoked. read more

I was charged $375 for a boot that Dr. Yena Do gave me for a sprained ankle. I found online that boot retails for only $79 on Amazon! That's a 5x markup. It's predatory when a healthcare provider takes advantage of their patients by charging outrageously high prices for medical equipment. I do not recommend seeing Dr. Yena Do. But if you must, DO NOT accept any medical equipment provided by her - you'll be in for a shock when the bill comes. Just buy it online from Amazon. read more

I went to Dr. Do about a ankle sprain that wasn't healing. Overall I didn't find her to be very helpful or informative. I did feel like she really took a look at what was going on. She barely touched my ankle. I ended up going to someone else. But the thing that really got me was a bill I received three months later. During one of my visits she had given me an ankle brace that they said would be covered by my insurance. They charged the insurance company $510 and I have to pay $278 of that. I looked the brace up online and it is $75. That is nearly a 7x mark-up on the brace that this office is passing onto the patient. I called and asked them about it and they told me the brace 'might look almost exactly the same but it was slightly different'. When I asked how it was different they could not answer. Their inflated price on a plastic brace has now been passed onto me, even though I was told it would be covered. It is exactly what is wrong with healthcare in this country. read more

Extremely rude. They did not explain that there will be a separate charge for an office visit and a charged me an arm and a leg for clipping a toe nail. The receptionist is very rude. read more

I came to Dr. Do for ingrown inflamed nails. After getting help for that, the doctor looked at my feet and said "when you become old and heavy, you will get tendonitis unless you do XYZ." I am a 25-year old who runs half-marathons and is in good shape, and I found this comment extremely offensive and triggering, considering that I was suffering from anorexia and bulemia in the past. I was like "Old and heavy?" and the doctor didn't apologize. I went to complain to the reception desk because I didn't want other patients to hear this and thought that someone could talk to the doctor about this. In return, I heard "Oh, the doctor would never say such a thing, but I will talk to her." So on top of being offended, I was not believed. For that reason I am writing a Google Review here. I will have a hard time believing the doctor's diagnosis and advice after this situation. read more

I had stepped out on the deck and somehow got a bristle of a grill cleaning wire brush to get lodged in my foot. I ignored it thinking it was a wood splinter until it had lodged far into my foot and I could barely walk on that foot. After a trip to urgent care at Lahey and them telling me that the earliest appointment was a week later ( even though Lahey is my primary care facility), I called Dr. Do. She got me an appointment the very next morning and scheduled me for surgery the following day at Mt. Auburn. I had a visit three days later at her office to get the dressing removed and just got back from her office after a 2-week post-op appointment. The surgical wound is completely healed and I'm back to my normal self. Dr. Do was very empathetic to my situation and was able to arrange for surgery the next day. She and her team kept me completely in the loop on what to expect and what the healing would be like after surgery. Her office staff and nurses are awesome too. Highly recommend her. read more

Dr. Do knows her stuff. She was quick, professional, but most importantly she got results. She's a real keeper.

Today was my 2nd visit with Dr Do and I'm even more impressed today than last visit and I was very impressed 1st visit. She did X-rays on both of my feet I've been having pain she explained exactly what was going on showed me on X-rays and formulated a plan. She gave me cortisone injections in both big toe joints and will follow up on her plan in the coming months but I can't stress what a difference having the right Dr guy I had before never gave me X-ray results never followed up or returned phone calls. Dr Do makes u feel important great bedside manner and very gentle thanks so much Dr Do Wow what a difference from last podiatrist I went https://www.facebook.com/CRTV/videos/1349119358488880/to. Total professionalism from entire staff. Office is absolutely immaculate very comforting. 1st visit got paperwork done next nurse came in took my information & X-ray's then Dr Do she was very nice friendly and assuring explained everything to me what she was doing & what treatment she was suggesting. Couldn't have been happier with my visit top notch staff top notch Dr. Highly recommend Dr Do read more

Superb attention by Dr. Do who clearly knows the foot and the ankle as part of a system, that of the body (holistic view). Concise information without any superfluous recommendation. Thank you! read more

I had peroneal brevis tendinitis (bum ankle) from over training for triathlons. Dr. Do came recommended from a buddy who hurt his foot and was very happy with his rehab with her help. My goal was to get back to running as quickly as possible so I didn't lose much fitness from down time. Unlike many other doctors out there who can't get out of the way of their own ego to listen to their patient, Dr. Do listened to my needs and made recommendations based on what would get me back to running and cycling as quickly as possible. Follow up for me was key because I wanted to check in about how much I could push my training on the ankle. To my pleasant surprise, Dr. Do is great about email and responded quickly to my questions. read more

Dr Do. treated me and my 9-year old daughter recently and the experience was great. She's very patient and considerate, especially with kids. As you can imagine my daughter doesn't exactly love to go to doctors but Dr. Do and her staff did a great job of putting her at ease during the whole process. I really feel like I was going to people to be helped, not an 'office' or 'a practice'. I'd definitely go to them again and recommend them to other people! read more

Thank god for Dr. Do. She is one of the best doctors I have worked with, for any specialty. I was seeing first, my PCP, then a podiatrist at my regular health clinic who then referred me to a podiatry surgeon and I wasn't really getting any results and it was all taking so long. Plus, the surgeon was awful in terms of bedside manner. I'm often limited in my options of clinicians because of my insurance but thankfully, Dr. Do takes my insurance. I had Freiburg's disease, something fairly rare, but she treated me professionally, warmly and efficiently. Her office is small but everyone is the same as Dr. Do: professional, well-educated and really kind. I was seen in her office and quickly scheduled for a surgery at Mount Auburn Hospital. Dr. Do was there for me every step of the way and I felt at such ease in her hands. I've been seeing her for about 1.5 years now as I had to have a second surgery to remove the pin from the first surgery and I've been back to see her for follow-ups, obviously, and then to deal with plantar warts. When I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia after the second surgery, she answered my concerned phone call on a weekend and made sure I was able to be seen right away on Monday and prescribed some meds to help me (I was super nauseous from the anesthesia). I cannot recommend her enough. She's the kind of doctor that does a really great job at helping you heal and remembering to ask about your partner, your job, etc. and remembering the details of all of those personal things. If I had to go back for any reason, I wouldn't hesitate to see Dr. Do again. Bonus: street parking right out front is always easy to find. FYI it is metered and not updated to allow you to use a card, so remember quarters. :) read more

If you need a good podiatrist, you definitely want to see Dr. Do. I recently met with her for a consultation on a sports injury - a sore Achilles, probably from overtraining for an upcoming marathon - and would wholeheartedly agree with others here who've written that she's skilled, knowledgeable, and wonderfully kind. Dr. Do did a thorough exam (including a couple of on-the-spot X-rays) and concluded the injury was minor and I could continue training without worry. What's more, she showed me a number of helpful exercises to keep my foot healthy and limber. She's an athlete herself (and looks it; she's quite foxy!) and was once a fitness trainer/consultant, so she's got an impressive background in sports injury prevention. Most important, she's a sympathetic listener and fantastic communicator. Can't recommend her highly enough. read more

Dr. Yena Do is fantastic. We went to see her for the first time today and she was outstanding. She went over what our insurance might and might not cover, and also the questions we should ask them when evaluating our options. There are 5 kinds of treatment for my husband's condition and she explained all of them - including how much they cost and if there might be any insurance coverage. When I called for an appointment, they were able to get us in the next day. She was very proactive and did not make us feel rushed at all during our appointment. I even called after the appointment to ask a question and she got right on the phone with me. The office is small and private, and very, very clean. The office is located on Mass Ave, near Davis Square. There is a parking lot in the back that you can use, but make sure to get a parking pass from the receptionist. Otherwise you could get towed! The office staff, especially the medical assistant, at Dr. Do's office were incredibly rude and unprofessional. When I arrived at the office I was told that they had accidentally scheduled my appointment for the following day. They did not apologize and asked me to come back a different day. I had already traveled a long way to the office and taken time off of work to see Dr. Do, and I was having acute pain so I asked to be seen that day as initially scheduled on the phone. The medical assistant said in an extremely rude tone that they would add me to the schedule. Not once did I receive an apology and I was made to believe it was my fault that they had mis-scheduled my appointment. The medical assistant saw me before Dr. Do and continued to be brusque during the visit. She did not introduce herself, did not explain that she was taking x-rays of my foot (and did not ask if I was pregnant beforehand, which is standard procedure), and took a very cursory history. Although she had only asked me a few questions she spent a long time typing up a note, and it was unclear what she was writing as she had not done a thorough interview. The visit with Dr. Do herself was very quick, although she was much more professional than her staff. read more

Absolutely phenomenal service. I called many podiatry offices, and Cambridge Podiatry was the only one where the secretary had any clue about what the doctors in their office actually do. I received answers to all of my questions both when making the appointment and during the apointment itself. Dr. Doe (Do?) is very knowledgeable and shows a lot of care toward her patients. She used examples and kept everything simple, so I walked away fully understanding my problem. Overall, an extremely pleasant experience. read more

Dr Do's office was exceptionally responsive in scheduling an in-person/new patient office consultation for 1. Plantar fasciitis pain in my foot and 2. Evaluation of progressive osteoarthritis/Halux Rigidis that has gotten to the point where cheilectomy-bone spur surgery was needed. She did a thorough evaluation of my foot, explained the progression of the condition, the various treatment options and her diagnosis using the X-rays taken. She went over the pre and post surgery requirements. I know there is a Covid-19 backlog for surgeries, but Dr. Do was able to schedule the brief surgery at Mt. Auburn, which was my preferred Cigna in-network option. The office followed full Covid-19 screening protocols during the visit. I highly recommend this practice. read more

Dr. Do was marginal, not too excited but, not dangerous either. Her office staff was functionally pleasant but, for all practical purposes very inefficient. Following a six month lapse from time of service, a bill for a removeable cast was received showing that there was no insurance filing. After calling to correct this, another bill arrived 5 weeks later while our family was travelling. We returned home three weeks later to three more demands for payment - each more aggressive and threatening than the last - as well as six phone messages of the same nature. In total, there was a 32 day lapse in the time the correct bill was mailed and the day we returned from our trip. So, they sent a bill each week and made two phone calls each week to collect this debt... harrassment in legal terms. The total amount due? $45.00 - yes, forty five dollars. Yes, they have every right to pursue payment but, this was over the top considering they were so lapse. read more

The things I like about Dr. Yena Do are that she is thorough, extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, AND she tells you WHY certain things are happening to your feet! I'd gone to another podiatrist, who shall remain nameless, and he not only misdiagnosed my condition, but was sort of insulting to me, as well. He said I had "warts" that he had to remove, and implied that I didn't take care of my feet. Dr. Do told me that they were not warts, but impacted sweat glands on the bottom of my feet, and that it is not uncommon for them to occur in middle age. She also helped me successfully treat a toe problem, and hooked me up with some awesome sneakers that don't crush my toes! I was so impressed with her that I took a friend there when she broke her foot, and she treated her immediately. I also recommended her to an older friend who was having problems from her diabetes, because I found out that she is a specialist in wound care. I just can't say enough good things about her! read more

I visited Dr. Do with infected ingrown toenails on both big toes. I'm also someone who gets quite anxious about painful medical procedures to the point of passing out (see below). Dr. Do proved to be both skilled and compassionate. She recognized that my medical history necessitated hospital outpatient surgery instead of an office procedure. Both the surgery and recovery went smoothly and I am back to tennis with no problems. Throughout my visits, everything was explained clearly. Dr. Do's compassion also came into play after I embarrassingly lost consciousness while getting my stitches removed(!) The office is small but clean. The staff was friendly and efficient and I had no problems finding parking on Mass. Ave (perhaps it is more difficult at other times but seemed easy mid-day). I also appreciated the fact that Dr. Do had magazines that guys might like (Men's Health, The Week) in her magazine rack... I hate when there's only Glamour and People! I hope I can stay free of further foot problems, but wouldn't hesitate to go back if I need a podiatrist again. read more

I was thoroughly satisfied with the treatment I received at Cambridge Podiatry (also known as New England Comprehensive Foot & Ankle Group, LLC). I saw that Yena Do was well-reviewed and my doctor referred them. I saw Dr Prechtl and she was amazing too. I went for a minor infection issue and they treated it with real sincere care unlike other podiatrists I had visited who will go unnamed. Dr Prechtl was very clear and authentic with communication and she was very delicate in her treatment of my issues. The office also has a great receptionist, great assistants, and their office is super-cozy and hospitable. It's also very well-located on transit being close to Porter Square, which is a huge plus for someone inhibited in getting around due to a foot issue. read more

Honestly surprised by all the rave reviews of Dr. Do. I had a pretty negative experience with her from the start (though I found the rest of the staff professional and courteous, if not especially friendly). I made an appointment for lingering tendonitis following a major ankle injury and surgery. Dr. Do talked to me as if I didn't know anything, and only changed her tone when I made it pretty clear I'd been in PT for almost 2 years and had taken anatomy courses. I scheduled a follow-up and kept the appointment because I thought maybe it was an off day, but the interim period and second appointment were even worse. I received an email indicating that Dr. Do had sent a note to my PCP. I went to review the note, and saw that the diagnosis was a ruptured tendon, even though in our conversation she made it clear that it was NOT ruptured, merely inflamed. I sent a message to the doctor through the system but never received a response, so I called the office. The staff confirmed that the note in my record and note to the doctor had the same diagnosis. I didn't push it because I had a follow-up a week and a half later. At that appointment, my first question to Dr. Do was about the diagnosis. I told her that note said 'ruptured,' and she insisted that she wouldn't have put 'ruptured' because it wasn't. Of course, then she checked, saw it said 'ruptured,' and explained that the new software they were using didn't have basic 'tendonitis' as an option. After 30 seconds of searching the possible assessments, she tried 'tendonitis,' and lo and behold, there it was. This tells me that she barely spent any time searching for the correct assessment before entering this incorrect dx in my chart and sending it to my PCP. On top of this, she made me feel during both visits that I was wasting her time. I sent another message through their system to the Dr. Do following my second appointment; when I didn't receive a response, I called the office and left a message asking her to respond to me - only then did she. But one of her responses didn't make sense, so I sent a follow-up. Surprise surprise, I never got an answer. At that point I just canceled my next appointment and gave up; to my surprise, the staff didn't ask why. There are plenty of other doctors who can treat tendonitis. read more

Dr. Yena Do is by far a remarkable person. I've seen many doctors in my lifetime and had several different surgeries over the years she is by far my favorite. She has integrity, she's very honest, compassionate, with a wonderful bedside manner! She's very good at what she does and very intuitive as well. She goes above and beyond to meet the needs of her patience. Myself and my 2 sons have been under her care for several years now. My youngest had several nasty breaks in his foot, she took exceptional care of him, despite how shattered one of his bones were she was able to make him like new again. Under her instructions, including diet Every 1-2 weeks the x-rays showed little progress in his healing, for a pretty healthy young man he should have healed quicker, so perplexed about this she asked about his diet, gave some advice, we followed it. WOW! I became an instant believer in the power of food when I saw how much quicker he healed in the next x-ray 2 weeks after because he had followed her instructions! My son can dance, run, act and is singing again! Our last visit was so bittersweet because we looked forward to seeing her, and would miss her but my son was so happy to be healed and back to his normal self with a new diet!! read more

Amazing practice. Dr Do is a doc who truly cares. Staff is kind, warm, and welcoming. Thank you for providing quality care :)

Dr. Do was phenomenal. I'm sort of sad she resolved my issue so quickly and easily, so I now lack a reason to go back to see her. She's great. Making the appointment was easy. The gal at the front desk is extremely competent and professional. I got in for a week later on an issue that wasn't an emergency, and the appointment time worked with my schedule. They gave a courtesy call the day before to remind me of the appointment. I was seen on time. The tech was friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Do herself was great. She had a phenomenal bedside manner. She explained what was going on to me simply and reassuringly, and showed me how to deal with the issue myself. She said that surgery was a possibility, but it was not something she'd recommend because my issue wasn't that big of a deal. I loved that - she was basically telling me I didn't need to take the expensive option, something that you don't hear from a lot of medical providers. Definitely go here if you're having foot issues, she's the person to see. read more

I admire podiatrists because they deal with feet all day. I admire these podiatrists in particular because they are genuinely kind, caring people who take their time, really listen, and suggest treatments to prevent recurring problems. They are also some of the few specialists I have ever seen who treat those with public and private health insurance exactly the same. Their office is clean, scentless and friendly. If you are having an urgent problem they try to schedule you the same day. Sure, the wait has been a bit long at times, but that's because they are taking their time with each patient and never make you feel bad about having 'caused' your problem or having lots of questions. Highly recommended. read more

My primary care physician referred me to Dr. Do. I had pain under my right big toe. Dr. Do had x-rays taken of both feet right in her office. She then showed me the right foot x-ray and pointed to a sesamoid that she said showed necrosis--was essentially dead--and needed to be removed by surgery. I went to another podiatrist for a second opinion--I explained to him the diagnosis I had been given. He had me get x-rays and then showed them to me: on his x-rays, the sesamoid on my right foot looked completely normal. He also said that if there was necrosis I would be incapable of walking. Dr. Do misdiagnosed my condition. She also recommended I use different orthotics than the ones I had been using. She attempted to sell me orthotics that cost several hundred dollars and I settled for manufactured orthotics she sold right in her practice. Some 2 years later I ended up w/ Achilles tendonitis. I recently went to another podiatrist who recommended I use the orthotics I had worn before I went to Dr. Do. So Dr Do also contributed to my developing chronic Achilles tendonitis. I am going to write to a professional organization to complain about her. She caused me serious health damage. Do NOT use her services. She is clearly a quack. read more

I am flat footed, and I came to Dr. Do because my right foot started to throb a little more after moving to Boston (I am walking more because I dont have a means of transportation, and I feel like my feet are working harder to walk on ice). And to confirm her hypothesis, she took some xrays, which were processed in 5 minutes, and she told me I had an extra bone in my foot that was causing the discomfort. She definitely seemed knowledgable and she gave me all the treatment options available. She even gave me a foot cast to help relieve the pain I was experiencing that day (even though I thought it wasn't that bad). Dr. Do did the skin of my soles and trimmed my nails. I was a first time client and not through insurance. I paid $250 to be allowed in plus $50 for the service. I had recently had spine surgery for cancer in my L4 vertebrae, so I was not allowed to bend or twist. I told my story to the receptionist, the assistant, and the podiatrist. The latter finally came in . I told her that I was in pain. She didn't seem to care one bit. After finishing the thick skin under my feet, she proudly showed me how much she had removed, then she tackled my nails that were perfectly straight but a tad too long. With the nail cutter she went at a slant instead of cutting straight. I could have screamed. She is the second podiatrist who does that in my experience. My conclusion is that this profession doesn't know how to cut nails in this country and make them look good at the same time. Finally, even though I had told Dr. Do that I was in pain, she didn't help me off the couch. Without a look, she finished the job and left. Nice bed side manner! The very same afternoon, I went to my regular pedi/mani to correct what a professional doctor had done. I went there only because they are the only ones allowed to use knives and blades and I needed a good job on my soles. read more

Run as fast and as far as you can from this practice. It has been a year since my surgery with Dr. Nancy Prechtl. The pain I went there for initially still exists on the ball of my foot. The Osteotomy recommended was stated as a 3 week period to return to work and most normal activities. My foot remains swollen to this day and I was very limited in activities for over 4 mos. The billing department, as noted throughout this page, is a bullying and unprofessional team that will threaten you and yell at you on the phone. I sought a second oppinion around 6 mos post surgery and was told you have "floating toe". The toe is raised and pulls to the right (if you are facing me) and is causing mechanical issues and cerainly a greater deformity than the claw toe I originally had. This claw toe was deemed the supposed cause for my ball of foot pain. The second dr. recommended removal of the hardware and stated the condition, "floating toe"as a known risk to this surgery. This term was never used in my consultations with Dr. Prechtl. He told me to seek out a Orthotist and provided a list of professionals. She never offered any real relief from the obvious failed surgery and the residual pain - and told me to stop by and she would leave some inserts out for me to try that she had in the office. Worst of all of this was there was no follow up from this practice to show concern for thier poor result and the long and painful recovery I had experienced. Folks, this is major surgery, go to 2-3 drs. Try every less aggressive option and dont go here if surgery is your only path forward. read more
