They took care of ordering the "right parts", because while they offered to me the items to find prices perhaps a bit less, I worried it would set me back if they came out and I have the wrong item, or was sent the wrong item, because we all know how things go these days. Called these guys to troubleshoot my treadmill. They charged $100 for a service call. It was well worth it because they not only diagnosed the problem but also told me there was still a warranty available that I had no idea about. They also took pictures and wrote an explanation to give to the warranty company. The warranty company sent us a brand new display that cost a little under $600 for free. I received a Horizon T103 Treadmill from my daughter that was roughly 13 years old. Once delivered to our gym... didn't work I feared that I owned a 250 lbs. paper weight for months. When I realized that my new treadmill would take 4 hours to assemble, I decided to search for a professional. If you're in the same situation, look no further because this company definitely knows what they're doing. When my husband called and mentioned the make/model of our new treadmill and rower, they were familiar with it & knew how long it would take to assemble it. They gave him a quote over the phone. Their prices are not bad at all - they're affordable. My rower arrived before our appointment and we called to see if they could come sooner. When they couldn't make it, my husband decided to do it and they kindly provided him with some tips on the assembly process. How awesome is that? On the day of our appointment, they were prompt and professional. They completed the job in half the amount of time (2 instead of 4 hrs). They also told us how to maintain our equipment and suggested we put a mat below our equipment to protect our flooring. I love businesses that are customer-centric! Other than basic services, they can also schedule on-going preventive maintenance and repairs for a variety of equipment (including Pilates reformers). I had a very nice treadmill that I was looking to give to someone who would put it to good use by perhaps donating it to a charity or some worthy organization. I thought a business that worked on treadmills would be a logical candidate. I contacted Dave Phelps at Fitness Machine Technicians and provided him with photos of my Precor treadmill. We made an appointment for Dave to pick up the treadmill which required disassembly to get it out of the room it was in. He and his son showed up on time, we're very careful in both disassembly and removal. FMT is the best and is 100% honest, i was initially quoted $600 to replace and install a part for a commercial grade Matrix A50 ascent elliptical machine due to a malfunctioning incline function, i was initially quoted $600 to replace and install a board but they found out that a simple software update would fix the problem, FMT only charged me for the software update a huge difference in price, i wouldn't have known and FMT could have said they replaced the board in addition to the software update and charged me more. This was a nice Christmas present for me and my family, specially with the pandemic it is great to have working machine that is safe to use to at least try and stay in shape. I own two treadmills, both of them having issues that were keeping them from running properly. Alex dropped by and was able to quickly diagnose the issue with each one. Both ended up being structural failures of the frame that were causing the problem and one will be getting resolved by the 10-year frame warranty that is offered by the manurfacturer. Called FMT to have the belt of my treadmill replaced and they gave a reasonable quote for labor and parts of $239. Three men arrived for the appointment today 30 minutes early which was great. My treadmill was in working order and I know this because I have been using it. But during the appointment they called me over to tell me that the motor was broken and fried and it would cost another $150 to fix. So I am shocked because I only wanted the belt replaced now the appointment was going to cost almost $400. I questioned what they did for that to happen but they did not take liability and said "it just happens." So I still don't understand because I was better off not having them touch it at all! Dave then questioned whether it was working in the first place. I conquer that makes no sense for me to have them come replace a belt of a broken treadmill and that they even turned it on before I left them to do their work. I got upset because I don't understand but Dave starts yelling and cussing at me in my own home that he is an honest business man for 40 years and was going to leave without putting the treadmill back to how they started with it. One of the technicians calmed him down and they continued to put my old belt back on my treadmill. At the very least, since it looks bad that the treadmill broke while they took it apart, he should've offered consideration on the labor to fix it. I didn't expect them to fix for free. But now I'm left with a broken treadmill because of them. Clearly I do not recommend this company and I am still appalled at how Dave yelled and cussed at me. Thank you for reading this. read more
