Destiny is a guide, sacred witness, educator, incredibly skilled and knowledgeable in the birth world, but most importantly a present, loving, and deeply respectful human. She supported us throughout the whole process and was available for check/ins, meetings, and provided us with so much helpful information, resources, and referrals in the birth community.  She is a throughout communicator and is very organized and well connected in the birth community. She is deeply respected as an expert and we felt trustworthy of her and her recommendations/information provided.  If you are exploring a birth doula or postpartum doula, I truly cannot recommend Destiny more. She is a delightful human to be in your circle during such a potent time as pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She brings knowledge, evidenced base research, as well as an embodied, heartfelt, intuitive wisdom.

Postpartum care was necessary for support and integration with a new baby. She did an overnight with us, day time education, lactation support, organizing and overall emotional support. I cannot say enough things about destiny and how amazing she is. Hands down best decision to have a doula and more specifically Destiny in our corner!

However, once I came back I was able to start right back up without any hoops to jump through at the same piece I was at without any extra costs. I'm only giving 4 stars because the pods leak a decent amount of air. To get the full effects of the heat, I have to make sure I bring a towel and roll it at the bottom. Otherwise the breeze of cooler air is distracting. The pods aren't lined up very well and it's an issue with all the pods. It's a good place to supplement workouts and other fun memberships.

I found Mindful and Embodied through a Groupon for fitness classes at various facilities for $20…read more The Groupon included five classes at the Mindful and Embodied studio; given that the studio is a few blocks away from my house, and in light of the terrific reviews I'd seen online, it seemed like, even if I didn't use the Groupon for anything else, $20 was a great investment for five classes here! I went to my first class last night. The space is really small (like the size of your college living room) and a little hard to find from a crowded parking lot off 600 S. But if you're like me and you haven't been exercising regularly lately for whatever reason (me = childbirth (fine, he's two, but I'm a recently divorced single mom so time for myself is a precious commodity!)), it is so relaxing and welcoming when you come in that you quickly forget it was a bit of a hassle to get there. The instructor, Natalie, was terrific, especially for an easily intimidated, out of shape, generally squishy newcomer like me. The class was not physically taxing, but nor did I expect it to be given that its title was something like "rest and relaxation." I'm excited to sign up for my next class and really hope to develop a more regular, long-term yoga practice at this studio.

I have been struggling with my weight for years. Throughout the past decade I've gone through ups…read moreand downs and have never once enjoyed working out or being healthy. It has always been a chore, and has been the issue of many of arguments with the wife over my fitness. My brother-in-law suggested that I give this place a shot, as it was different from the regular gym and fitness class routines that I'd been going through over the years. I decided to give it a go, as our 10 year anniversary was coming up, so I once again decided to begrudgingly try and workout again and get into shape. After starting up my first class, I thought to myself, "This is NOT for me!!" Everyone in the class was somehow able to do these insane workouts, and I was practically passed out on the floor! The flow of the workout encourages constant working out and that was just not my style! I was more of the 'how about I do 10 reps and we call it good' mindset. I somehow survived the first class and wasn't sure what to think. Not wanting to disappoint my wife again, I decided to stick with it and went to another couple classes that same week. I was one week in, had gone to 3 classes and I'd had enough. This is great and all, but obviously not for people who are as out of shape as I am! They had me go in for a body scan which informed me that I'm basically 100 pounds over obese. Maybe I should just throw in the towel and stick to something easier. Here is the crazy thing, though. The owner of this location is unlike anyone I'd ever worked with before. It wasn't the typical beefcake meathead that is so common every gym you go to. He was actually genuinely caring and made the time to adjust the workouts so that I could make it through the full 45 minutes. All of the sudden, I was feeling more and more welcomed - not only be the trainers and owner, but the entire group is so unbelievably supportive and there is a strange feeling of comradery there. Everyone is so encouraging and there to lift you up. So...here it is, two weeks later since that initial first week. YES, only TWO WEEKS later and I cannot believe the person I am right now! I am actually waking up early in the morning EXCITED to hit up a class (if there is one thing I love as much as food, it's sleeping in as late as possible, so you understand what I'm saying!), and find myself thinking about the next class I'm going to attend. This is completely foreign to me and I can't believe that someone like me could actually LOOK FORWARD to a workout! Not only is the change of mindset an amazing thing, you would not believe the results I am seeing! Since my start a little less than 3 weeks ago, I've lost 11 pounds, went down a pant size and am having unbelievably more energy! In fact, yesterday I was actually able to complete TWO classes, when just two weeks ago I couldn't even make it through ONE! All of the sudden, I'm feeling great, I'm making healthy food choices by CHOICE, and not by obligation, and have regained a sense of hope that I thought was long gone. If you are anything like me, and have felt like there is no point, and it's time to just give up and accept the fact you will be out of shape, or unhealthy, I would strongly urge you to give this place a shot - and give it a fair shot! Remember, I was ready to throw in the towel and say 'screw this' after my first class. Go in, try it out for a couple weeks and see for yourself why everyone is raging about this place. In over 10 years, this is the first time I've actually enjoyed working out, and I highly recommend it!

I had heard how awesome Michael Banks is to work with and that he gets results, so I decided "what the heck". After working with Michael for a month I had lost 8 lbs and tightened up my body. Michael doesn't just train with you for that half hour you are with him, he keeps in contact with you All Day. You text your food intake to him and he checks in with how you did for the day. To be honest, to get results, you have to commit and you have to work HARD for it, but Michael makes it inspiring and motivating. I would recommend him to everyone ready to change their body. His program is the serious best.
