Pros: Plenty of equipment. Not very crowed. At lest when I go. Classes are great. Lockers are free, just bring your own lock. Staff is nice. There is a lot of parking. Prices are the best in Atwater. Cons: Televisions don't have caption. The floors and areas are dirty...there is alot of dust. Equipment is never put away, but that's the users fault. Maybe signs telling people to pick up their stuff will help out the mess? read more

Fit Republic Atwater, the manager told me I had to wear a mask when entering because of COVID-19. I told him I was exempt because of medical reasons as per California Public Health Department order NR20-128. he told me if I did not like it to quit. They say it is to protect staff. The staff walks by members working out without masks to turn on the tv's and fill paper towel machines. I'm not happy with them. Today June 24, 2020 the manager denied me entry and told me my membership was canceled. They failed to make reasonable accommodations under The American with Disabilities Act, Title III as requested with the corporate office. My request was made threw email to member services on June 23, 2020. Apparently I am not the only one having difficulties with this manager. July 1, 2020, I received an email, Our apologies for the inconvenience. You are allowed to enter the gym and workout. read more

Walked in for the first time pretty open concept, love the fact that it's so roomy not every dam machine is all cramped up in a tinny place definitely smells like new and fresh. Doesn't feel crowded. I didn't like that there is only 1 water massager deff not cool but not such a biggie since they did just open maybe they're still settling in with new equipment other than that I love this new addition to our Atwater community can't wait to start my classes soon. read more

I'm a very dissatisfied customer for many reasons. *There's no subtitles on the TVs *It's dirty. It honestly does not get cleaned often. You see the wads of toilet paper on the ground in the bathroom for days. The toilets have rings of filth. The gym floor has hair balls and dirt everywhere. *There's AT LEAST once a month that the front desk employee is not there and the gym is not open on time. The manager is very rude and brushes any thing off no matter what it is whether it's a complaint or just feedback. There's no one to hold him accountable. *the only reason I still go is because I paid my membership in full for 15 months for the fit nation classes and they've gone down hill. The coaches sometimes don't show. As of right now the only consistent one is Mariah but on her days off you can bet no one will show. read more

I have never in my life been bamboozled so hard by one man. At first impression he was a cool dude. He signed me up everything was great, heck I even helped him rerack weights on one of the first nights I went to this gym. As time went on I realized he was a coward, and greedy, manipulative salesman. My fellow citizens of Atwater/Winton please do not go to this gym. And whatever you do, do not fall for James' tomfoolery. If James could charge members to breathe oxygen I'm sure he would. It is obvious that Management has made a drastic improvement on cleanliness over the past few weeks. It would still be nice to have a couple weight trees by the benches to eliminate the clutter of free weights laying on the ground or not getting re-racked because there's not really anywhere to put them. A couple more push down ropes for the cable machines would be nice so ur not fighting over one the whole time (there might be two). Big gym with a great amount of equipment just some little adjustments for this to be a five star gym for sure. This place is FILTHY and it is very apparent that none of the staff has ever cleaned this place. Very shitty sales tactic to get traffic into the gym. They have a very big sign showing no enrollment fee for any memberships and then when you speak to them about it they tell you it's only for the more expensive plans unless you pay the full year upfront. I could understand if they had listed select memberships but saying all means all not some of them. The gentleman upfront was very nice and super friendly so we did end up signing up. As she was leaving the gym and the employee (manager) said bye to her when she was already out of the door, she did not hear right away and had a delayed response. Just because she didn't say it back right away he said "fucking bitch" she was shocked and just walked away. The equipment and layout is great. I just think it's SO dirty. Frequent cleaning is NOT a priority here for the staff.

Fit Republic, the newest gym in town, is also its best: it has brand new equipment, ample parking, and it is an excellent value. It's spacious, the bathrooms are pristine, even the enviromental controls (temperature, lighting) are well-calibrated for a great workout. For years, I've waited for this day. Years. And that day has come, and it exceeds all expectations. Atwater finally has a competitive market, gym-wise. No longer will anyone need to pay exorbitant fees for an overcrowded gym with lackluster equipment in town, or commute to Merced for respectable gym options. This is a very satisfying moment. I highly suggest not to pay for a year worth of membership in advance. If you cancel or the gym closes you will likely not get your money back. My partner and I joined the gym in Merced, paid for a year before it closed a month later. We were told that we will get our refund of $142 each. The gym closed in June and I have yet to get anything back. I've sent countless email with no response. I called Atwater for a customer service/ corporate number and was told they didn't have one. What company doesn't have a customer service number? During these times, losing out on $300 is a lot of money! read more

Very spacious, cheap memberships and top of the line equipment plus it's never crowded. I really like this gym the only thing is I wish the had there business hours posted on the front door and more paper towel dispensers throughout the gym, especially in the cardio area plus the hydro massage has been broken for awhile now. read more

Please don't ever join to gym unless you want them to continue charging you after you had cancelled your membership. I was a member, but had to cancel my membership in June because I moved out of town and the closest one to me was 20 minutes away. Found out two months later that they were still charging me. Had to go back to the Atwater location to cancel my membership again, and was told to come back for a refund because the manager wasn't there. Came back a couple hours later and was told by another employee that the manager was out, and that he'll have the manager contact me so I wouldn't have to come back. Been waiting over a week and still no call! Not worth it to drive 2+ hours to Atwater to get my money back. Please don't join this gym!!! read more

Just switched over from in-shape, the young lady that signed me up was very helpful n friendly. I wish they had more flat benches, area where to rack all the plates n more towel dispensers around the gym but other than that it's a fine gym. read more

The hours are trash same company as turlock and merced yet they close earlier, they have no clamps for the barbell workouts, gyms always packed even at night so youd imagine theyd stay open later. The manager wants to charge for everything and the tvs dont have subtitles so youre just watching images. Match your other location hours!!! read more

Rip off! Managers says he used to work at In-Shape compared their contract to the terms of my contract with Fit Republic and said all the gyms require this yearly fee. I don't appreciate being lied to. Even if it was in my contract, whatever is said verbally should remain. I was never told about this fee per person. I was never told that it would deduct this year Geez we just started! To top it off If you decide to cancel they require an additional month! Be aware when dealing with them they are more about the money than the business of keeping long term members. I was an In-shape member for 5 years and this fee didn't ever deduct until an entire year into our membership! Shady!! read more

This gym is relatively new in Atwater so the equipment is in good working condition. However, they do not have good housekeeping staff. The bathrooms are not well maintained, and the locker rooms are uncomfortably dirty. read more

This gym is big and has a good amount of equipment, but the customer service is horrible. Almost every time I go in the people at the front desk do not acknowledge me to check me in even when there are multiple people standing there. They also close way too early on the weekends when they're other locations are open later it doesn't make sense. And there are only two sanitizer stations for the entire gym. Switched from in shape to save a little money but it's honestly not worth it probably won't be here much longer. read more

All the while I was being charged $49.99 after being quoted $14.99. First time checking out this location and wasn't satisfied like other locations. It's sad to know it's a brand new location and management as well as staff letting it go down the drain by poor costumer service and how dirty the facility is. Love that it's all top of the line equipment but it was dirty. By dirty I mean trashcans over filled with paper towels, used paper towels all over the Gym floors, as well as one of the men's urinals had toilet paper in them and toilet paper on the floor of the stalls. I had approached a front desk about being out of paper towels in their paper towel dispenser but he didn't acknowledge what I told him since I still spent 30 minutes after advising them about the matter and wasn't replaced. At to moment I think I rather drive into Merced to get a my sessions in since I'm always get greeted and feel welcomed to be in their gym. read more

I take the classes and have to say that not only are the workouts intense, exciting, and constantly evolving but the trainers are absolutely amazing!!! They are great at modifying the workouts to meet the needs of each members abilities, they are super positive and supportive, they push you beyond what you thought you were capable of, and they're just all around great people. Took a guest in on Thursday. I scan my key card. Was told my guest privilege was from Fri-Sun only. So I ask how was the guest able to go in as a guest on the previous day. Mine you they never check that I brought the guest in the previous day. I never ask for a manager. The guy there with an attitude said he was the manager. He told me he let the guest in as a one time courtesy. I could tell he was lying. What I don't understand is that he has all these 3 day guest passes but he never offered to give my guest one. So we left. How is someone with no customer service a manager? We went to the Merced location . My guest was able to get in for a workout and was offered a 3 day guest pass the same day. I don't understand why the manager at the Atwater location wouldn't offered a 3 day guest pass when it is right in front of him. How does a guest feel welcome and want to became a member when you have that kind of customer service. read more
