As promised in my last blurb, I'm leaving an updated review! I can't believe it's been 7 months since I started and I've definitely seen results. I've always been somewhat active but never strong....Well, I not only feel stronger but my muscles are more toned and my running has also improved. Prior to FIT, I ran a 10k in college in 1:02 (~10-minute pace). Recently, I completed another 10k and finished in 50 minutes (~8-minute pace). The BIGGEST thing for me is that I've also been able to finish my first half and I'm excited to do more! Mike is truly the ace in your hand. He's the guy you want on your side and he genuinely cares about you. As an example, he helped me prepare for my race by running the coyote creek trail with me on a weekend (his day off). Aside from boot camp, I also come out to track intervals on Tuesday mornings and they're a great way to start the day and improve your mile-time. Whether you attend spinning, boot-camp, or TRX, Mike will challenge you and make it easy to commit to being healthy. He will provide constructive criticism and celebrate accomplishments. Every workout, he gets the best out of you and you will want to do the extra set and add the extra weight! I've been able to reach some of my fitness goals and I credit Mike and Alissa...so if you are in the market for a lifestyle change, definitely give FIT a shot! read more

Here, the world is your gym. Focused Integrated Training (FIT) is a close-knit, welcoming boot camp that tailors workouts to your abilities and goals. Evergreen offers them quality facilities, and FIT provides the equipment (TRXs, medicine balls, battle ropes, jump ropes, etc.). In addition, whereas other boot camps are susceptible to cancellation due to inclement weather, FIT has contingency plans as they've also contracted indoor gym facilities. FIT has quality coaches with personal training certifications. Each coach is knowledgeable, instructive, and motivating. Yes, classes can be difficult, but exercises can be easily adjusted to individuals' skill level and goals. The friendly, communal workout group makes classes motivating as well. Mike Coleman and FIT changed my life. I lost 35 lbs in 6 months (25 of which was in the first 3 months) and got back to shape. I dropped 2 sizes from 38 to 34 on the waist and XL to M in shirts ! I feel my energy and fitness levels have become a lot higher than before. My co-workers introduced me to Evergreen Boot Camp; I was officially addicted from the start. Mike Coleman, owner, trainer and coach for Focused Integrated Training is a GREAT trainer he will make you sweat, give you the best workout and push you beyond what you imagined you could do. If you are ready for an awesome workout, you'll want to try this. The people who train here are so welcoming they support each other and cheer you on. This is probably the longest yelp review that you will ever came across, but if you are reading this I strongly suggest you join the BootCamp at Fitness Integrate Training. Here's how it all started ... A friend of mine asked me to try out the BootCamp with Mike Coleman for an hour on Saturday. The word "BootCamp" kind of scared me, but I thought to myself, "It's only an hour, how bad can it be?" Saturday morning came, and I was dressed and ready to go to: the first 10' wasn't that bad with warm-up exercises and introductions, but next thing I know I couldn't catch up with other people in the group and even worse, I still had another 30' to go. By the end of the one-hour tryout session with Mike, I decided to join the 21 days BootCamp. Yes, you heard me right, 21 continuous days of BootCamp. The best thing about the BootCamp is Mike will push you to reach your potential but at the same time allow you to progress at your own comfortable pace. We did circuit training, yoga, weight training, walking / jogging/ running on Coyote Creek Trail, and TRX training. Working out with a group of friendly people and knowledgable & supportive instructors? What more did I need - just me and my consistent attendance to the BootCamp each day. Some days, or almost every day, I was sore in different parts of my body. But it was worth it and priceless. I feel more full of energy, less grumpy, and not stressed out at all. I graduated my 21 days BootCamp yesterday, loosing 7.5 lbs and best of all changing my active and eating behaviors. I even got a bootcamp survivor Tshirt for perfect attendance! I have a long way to go in losing more weight (and may be someday participating in a half marathon) but for now I am continuing my BootCamp session with Mike. Stay tuned, and stay active! If you're in the South Bay and are ready to work - and love it! - definitely check this place out! Although I've always been really active, I had hit a MAJOR workout slump since starting grad school last year. When I came to San Jose for an internship last fall, I vowed to get my act together. I hate gyms, and I knew I wanted something that would really push me. After checking out some of the other Yelp reviews, I decided to check out Evergreen Boot Camp - from the first time I worked out with Mike and the boot campers, I got what I was looking for. The workouts were tough, and pushed my cardio fitness as well as made me stronger. They were also always different - Mike does a great job using a ton of different drills, circuits, and equipment to keep things interesting and challenging for all ages and skill levels. On top of the intensity of the workouts, I loved all the people and the positive, encouraging vibe in the group. They encouraged me to keep showing up and to push myself harder than I thought I could. In addition to boot camp, I did the Tuesday morning track workouts, spin classes, and additional TRX strength training. I've always been intimidated by running and never thought I'd be good at it. Thanks to the time I spent training with Mike, I ran a 10k in November. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I would ever sign up for a running event, but working out with Mike gave me the confidence to prove myself wrong. I'm planning on doing a half-marathon in October. I wish I didn't live on the other side of the country, otherwise I'd still be at boot camp every Tuesday and Thursday night. To be honest, I was in a fitness rut, totally unmotivated. I decided that I needed a jump start, and I found just that at Evergreen Boot Camp. I go 3 mornings/week, and it's definitely tough. But, I find that with every week, I'm able to do more, and that I'm definitely getting stronger and have more endurance. Mike is the perfect blend of challenging and tough with positive and motivating. This is a great workout with lots of variety, and the encouragement of a group class. And, there are all levels of participants, you definitely don't have to be fit already to join! read more

If you want to get FIT & workout in a great environment with great people, then Evergreen Boot Camp is the place to be! I just had my 3rd baby 5 months ago and have always struggled being in shape & having the energy & strength to workout. After joining EBC, I feel GREAT! I always look forward to Tues & Thursday evenings and getting a good workout . Each session is fun & different. Mike (the trainer and owner of FIT) provides a variety of equipment to make the workouts fun and challenging (kettle bells ,TRX, resistance bands, sandbags, battling ropes, jump ropes & ab wheels just to name a few). The workouts are a great mix of cardio, weight & circuit training. The class consists mostly of women but there are a few guys as well who are at various FIT levels so you never feel alone. The whole group gives a great vibe to help push and motivate you to do your best. My only call out just because I need it is - more ab and core workouts! read more

Before I started attending Mike Coleman's weekly boot camp I was in a major exercise rut but didn't realize it. I was running on the treadmill at the gym several times a week, and I thought I was pretty fit. I had strong legs and in good cardiovascular shape but, boy, my upper body and core was wimpy because I had neglected it. I hated doing free weights. I hated the weight machines more. Every so often I'd get this chirpy e-mail from one of the fitness instructors at the gym saying that I had met my cardio goal but needed to work on strength training. I just deleted them. What finally got me to go to FIT boot camp was a chance meeting with a friend at a race. She was adamant that I had to try this boot camp. I didn't listen to her till she cornered me again at the local coffee shop and made me promise to try a class. So I showed up on a Friday, not knowing what to expect. It was dark, it was cold. Never did I think I'd be up at 5:30 for a 6 a.m. class. And, for what, I was not sure. The class was nearby, at Evergreen High. We started off doing drills and exercises that I had never done. I was trying so hard that I skidded on the track while doing sprints. I didn't bust anything but got clay all over my knees. I was embarrassed but no one laughed, and Mike helped me get myself together. At the end of class I was feeling better, and I got a different and challenging workout. I'm not sure what it was but I decided to go back again. Maybe I knew this was something that would help me get more fit. Like I said, my legs were strong but everywhere else I was stiff --my back, my neck -- or flabby -- my arms, my belly. For weeks, maybe months after class, I'd be sore some where. I don't think I made a breakthrough until several months later because I began feeling good after class! I guess I had reached another level of fitness, that I probably wouldn't have reached without Mike's boot camp. I've been going to FIT boot camp for more than a year now and I am so much stronger than when I was just going to the gym. My sport is running and Mike, who has more than several marathons under his belt--including Boston twice, New York and Chicago - has gotten me to the point where I can run a half marathon in almost under 2 hours. But the really awesome thing about Mike's camp is 1) the people, 2) the variety of equipment and exercises; 3) the diverse classes he offers (spinning, running clinics, TRX) and 4) he's a great source of advice, support and just a plain nice guy. Don't get me wrong about the "nice guy" part. He will push you to be stronger and better, even if it means running or training with you. Also, I think his high intensity workout was the only way I was able to lose some of that stubborn belly, after three kids! My body is stronger and if any one has struggled with the last 5 or 10 pounds, he can blast some of that belly fat away with his training. I didn't lose a ton of weight-- that wasn't my goal --but my core is firmer and definitely less flabby than when I was just running several times a week. The fringe benefits are that I made so many friends. I can count on one hand the number of friends I made at the gym. Also, I never thought I'd be one of those early risers to exercise but it is pretty awesome to start your day knowing you did something for yourself -- and that you are done with your workout! read more

I've been going to here for 3 months and love it. Before starting here I was going to the gym on my own so that is what my review is comparing to Results - I noticed results in the first month of training and couldn't be happier with the fat loss and muscle gain in the 3 months I've been going - I had a gym membership for 9 years before this and I wouldn't push myself like I do now - The trainers watch everyone and make sure everyone's form is correct - I used to have knee pain which I couldn't avoid no matter how low impact the workout I would do on my own, but it has nearly gone away since starting training. Motivation - The trainers definitely care about the students. After the first training, Mike called me to check on how my knees were, since I had knee issues in the past - The trainers push you to squeeze in one more rep or beat your last track lap time - There definitely is team spirit, everyone encourages you to keep pushing - Once you schedule a class, it's like any other appointment, you are more likely to go. No "I'll go later" when going to the gym Convenience - Multiple time options including mornings, evenings, and Saturdays - Multiple class options like weight training, boot camp, spinning, TRX - There's no waiting for machines like at a regular gym. What a wonderful program!! I first joined with the intent of being there for a month to jump start my fitness program. I am someone who likes to be challenged and likes to switch up my exercise regimen. Evergreen Book Camp turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. Mike Coleman does an amazing job of challenging you, regardless of your fitness level. There was so much variety in the workouts and I saw such improvement in my own strength, endurance and overall well-being that I stayed on with the program long-term. I recently was able to complete my first triathalon and I have no doubt that it was because of the wonderful training and guidance from Mike Coleman. He is very knowledgable, supportive and gets great results with his training program. I actually look forward to the workouts which are a mix of cardio, strengthening and circuit training. Mike also offers spinning, TRX and running classes so you can get an all-encompassing exercise program all in one place. Mike Coleman's Evergreen Boot Camp is fantastic. A great group of people all working hard together to get healthy and live a better life. Everyone is very friendly and the camaraderie is fantastic. His Boot Camp regiment is appropriate to all levels. He is able to make beginners feel right at home while still challenging the fittest participants. Mr. Coleman supports his client's in all aspects of a healthy well-being from daily activities to the all-important nutritional aspect of fitness. He provides a wide range of classes covering personal secessions, morning and evening classes, spinning, TRX Body Blast, as well as competitive race clinics. He frequently arranges group outings and events so all members can come together and enjoy activities within the community such as local races or even mountain hikes at the parks in the surrounding region. I have been training with Michael Coleman with Evergreen Boot camp for about a year and a half now. I am a mother of 3 boys and always wanted to lose all the baby weight after giving birth to my 3rd child. It has been tough and challenging. Getting back into shape has changed my life around especially after discovering Evergreen Boot camp. I feel great after each workout and now I have a lot more energy. I always look forward to my "Me Time" after a long day watching over my children and my daycare business. I find Evergreen Bootcamp to be the most challenging, fun, tough, and one of my favorite outdoor work out places. One thing I like about Mike is that he always changes up our workouts . He also brings out different exercise equipment such as Kettle Balls, Battling Ropes, Trx, Agility ladders, rip trainer, jump ropes, medicine balls, etc. Another reason why I like Evergreen Boot camp is because of the great group of people I work out with. I looooooove being a part of this bootcamp program. I have integrated it into my day very easily, being that there is an early morning session offered at 6am that I can do before work. I have had many gym memberships over the last 15 years, and for me, bootcamp has been the best and most effective form of exercise that I've ever done. I am so motivated by the group setting and the way our activities change every few minutes. Mike is also very supportive and motivating in the way he brings the group together to encourage each other, whether it be at the bootcamp session or at a local race that bootcampers are participating in. He definitely cares about his clients and it shows in the level of planning and involvement he puts into everything. I've been a part of this bootcamp for most of the school year as I've been teaching, and after leaving for a few weeks to save money and try the gym thing again, I have returned to bootcamp for the supportive environment of Mike and the group. I will definitely be disappointed to leave the program when I relocate too far away to make it possible for me to attend. LOVE my bootcamp!! read more
