GREAT amenities and VERY affordable compared to other gyms!…read more I have 3 kids and we've been visiting The Trails Recreation Center since we moved to the area 8 years ago. My kids loved the fountain play area, lazy river and water slides, dad loves the lap pool and hot tub. There's a nice variety of paid and "free" classes for both kids and adults, as well as community activities and access to physical therapists and personal trainers. I'm an amateur kettlebell sport athlete and use the facility 4-5 times per week. The staff is generally friendly, helpful and accommodating, they keep things reasonably clean and in good repair and they have a wide variety of cardio equipment, free weights and weight machines to choose from. It can get crowded evenings and weekends, but there's seldom a long wait for equipment. I love ending my workout in the steam room or sauna and a nice hot shower before I head to work. I've had memberships at chain and franchise gyms as well as private gyms. If you're self-motivated and have your own training plan, this is a great budget-friendly option! So grateful to have access to this great facility supported by our community!!

The workers of the recreation center have no respect for people's time. It would make sense to post…read moreon their websites calendar or post a new pdf calendar when areas of the center are out of order. However, it is my belief they don't care or are LAZY. Be sure to call daily to check.

Good selection of Cambered and straight bars. Bathroom is neat and clean and I do like how they have wipes to wipe down the equipment all the equipment was well working. Had a wonderful workout and Shelby the team member at the front desk was very professional.

What once was an amazing, inspiring atmosphere whose leadership truly wanted to see people improve themselves jas become just another average run of the mill fitness establishment that's no better than the other fitness chains. It's no longer the advertised family friendly environment it once was. They work hard to maintain the facade of a great gym that is better than the rest when in reality they fall short in comparison. This gym has really become run down due to lack of maintenance. The bullet hole in the front window that's been there for a year or more is one example. The broken mirror in the multipurpose room is another. It's been broken for years at this point. They have pictures of pro athletes hung on the wall for all to see, many who used to support this gym. The multitude of pro athletes that once supported this gym has dwindled to just a few over the last year and now you don't see them in this gym much at all. The music is often inappropriate and vulgar and is played at levels that make it difficult to hear anyone you might be talking to (trainer, friend, staff, etc) during the weekdays, especially in the afternoons. The volume tends to be ok in the mornings and weekends though and i think that is because its different staff running the gym at those times. Should you bring the music volume up to gym ownership the response you get is inappropriate, acusatory, and unprofessional. On occasion, the facility smells of sewage when you walk in the door. It's been occurring for years but remains an issue to this day Equipment is often in need of maintenance that seems to take longer than other gyms to address (inoperable cardio equipment, torn up pleather seating or pulleys on weight machines, etc). The equipment is older and perhaps this is to be expected for an establishment with older equipment, I don't know. It does get fixed eventually though. The 3 knee pads available are compressed to the point of being ineffective and the 2 mats they have are torn and ripped. They have needed replacement for well over 6 months at this point.
