It set her up for success on a competitive swim team and instilled a love of swimming and personal perseverance. Now, after moving to CO and coming out of the pandemic, we looked into the nearest Goldfish for our other kiddos and they are loving their swim lessons and instructors! We tried a local recreation center because it was cheaper and it just wasn't working- the instructors didn't seem to care and really didn't have a great plan. Coach rod has been patient, kind and pushed him where he could. His progress has been noticeable but more than anything my son just loves coach rod. On the way home after lessons recently he said, "I love coach rod, he always makes sure I'm safe and that I feel safe. The time leading up to class was absolute chaos though. There were a set of classes that ended at 10:15 and then another set that started at 10:15. I would estimate probably well over 75 kids were either in the pool or on the pool deck - plus all the parents. Once it was time to start the next set of classes it was a nightmare trying to dodge kids getting out of the pool. I feel like there should be a better way to transition from class to class time. All-in-all it wasn't a terrible experience. We will see how the rest of the classes go.
