Recently I purchased at a large black and orange butterfly kio for $150 + tax. It died within 5 days of being in my pond. I never saw it eat and attemp to eat. It just stayed at the bottom. I contacted the Luckys several times about it before finally being connected to the owner. The owner basically said there is no exchange or refund policy on livestock and he assumes no responsibility. I find this a disheartening waste of money and lack of appreciation to a loyal customer. I will not be returning to this store in the future.

They've helped troubleshoot issues with our tank, medication with a sick fish, and the fish and shrimp we've gotten here have all been really healthy (the sick one was last week and it was our fault; we've had him for a few months). They're always willing to take time to give suggestions or answer questions - haven't seen a single unfriendly employee. Their selection of everything from food to plants is pretty large. Unfortunately I had a very poor customer experience here. It began with a store employee dropping a…read moretropical fish on the floor. The fish was out of the tank for about a minute while the employee tried to pick it up by the tail. When she finally got a hold of it, she was about to put it back in the tank, when I suggested she put it in a quarantine tank. At that moment, her Team Leader walked by and said she should put back in the same tank, and see "if it makes it." By that time I had selected three fish and wasn't going to select more after the fish on the floor incident. I also purchased a $60 bag of dog food and $25 in dog treats (spending approximately $110). Later that day, one of the fish died, while the others were fine. I called the store, and they told me to bring back the fish with my receipt and they would give me a new fish (I was not told I needed anything else). So, I brought back the "dearly departed fish" and my receipt, and one of the staff got me a replacement. But when I went up to the cash register, the person who came to help with the exchange gave me a hard time, like she was doing me a big favor. I told her about the dropped fish story, and she seemed uninterested and annoyed. She was having difficulty processing the exchange, and was clearly annoyed about that. I finally gave up, why do I need aggravation and rudeness over an $11 fish. I gave them back the replacement fish, left the store and plan to take my business elsewhere. A truly negative customer service experience. I've purchased many things at this store over the years, and even brought some friends here. I think they call that the lifetime value of a customer, something I think the store owners need to explain to the staff.
