I've read a few reviews about the attitude of the service but that's not an attitude that's just culture, trust me you'll know the difference when a Caribbean cursing you out, America is just so use to service with a smile but not realizing it's not a law lol. It's a small tight location with no where to sit, it's all take out orders, oh and let's not forget it's cash only which was one of the things that attracted me to this place most cash only spots are delicious but the food here was just good and I do have a better Jamaican spot closer to home so not sure about revisiting. read more

First, I found a hair in my food, and I saw an ugly interaction between a customer and the older nasty woman. Because of the incident the chef who was listening spit in the person's food. Second, they are thieves in there and are dishonest. They steal. Third, the place is dirty and unsanitary. Friends reported getting sick after eating their food. While the food is cheap and enticing. Save your time, money and health and go someplace else. Their food will get you sick. read more

Three and a half. Tiny little Jamaican joint on Linden, a block off Farmers. Street parking on Linden Blvd is awful; go around the corner. Got ackee and salt fish; quite good. No plantains at 2.30? Minus. Not very friendly service. Plenty of other choices around. read more

I went here because my niece was treating. I've walked by this business 3 times and drove by more than a dozen times and I always wanted to try it. Well I finally got the chance and that saying "first impression are everything" well my first impression on tasting the food was very unpleasant. The macaroni had peas, carrots and corn and was loose. The fish taste alright but the one thing that detours me from ever coming here again was the glob of salt that was in the rice.. I didn't see it coming either. It was like a salt pill.. I won't give details in my reactions but if you had a pillar of salt hidden in your food, how would you respond, no really ! Tell me how would you respond. Well I didn't want my niece to feel like I wasted her money so I ate the fish and then I waited until she went to sleep and I poured THAT food out on the bottom of the trash and I put the container that it came with on the top of the trash. I mean she says the food is good and cheap so I'll let her continue to eat from there.. it's not me trying to sway someone from eating there so go off your own experience until you have one like mine. I'm just happy that she treated! Oh, by the time I finished helping.. I took another but of fish.. I had so much salt in my taste buds that the fish tasted salt so I threw that away to. I'm sorry for the review being more on the negative side but if the food was good I'd praise them highly. read more

Fishnet's food is Always so good. Love it here. The customer service is Great. Always welcomed with a smile. At $5 a plate for plates you usually would have to spend $8-10 you can't beat it. Plus they pack it with food and the food is actually flavored well. Tastes authentic. read more

A few months ago... I haven't been to Fishnet in a while so I suggested getting something to share for an early dinner since I didn't have lunch. It was so packed inside. It's a small restaurant, basically a take out place, so I decided to wait outside while L went in to order. I didn't know what to get, but after he saw their bbq/smoker outside and smoke was definitely coming out of it...the obvious dish to get was the jerk chicken, but he also ordered a curry chicken as well. Meals come with rice & peas...and a side. Whenever it's around dinner time, they start running out of certain items, but that's a good sign to me. The food tastes homemade. The jerk chicken was delicious. Loved the flavor from the smoker, perfect amount of heat, probably the best jerk chicken I've had so far. It's def. better than I recall. I was happy to see that they gave a good amount of meat and I didn't have a lot of bones to deal with. The rice and peas were not heavy at all. I finally got to try Callaloo, although L did not care for it, I thought it was pretty good. We normally get collard greens, but they ran out. Callaloo is a superfood, so the meal was still nutritious... I saved half for later. I had a bite of the curry chicken, it was quite tasty. The perfect amount of heat. Both dishes were seasoned nicely. Portions were generous so L was very full. The other times we've been to Fishnet, we thought the portions were lacking. I'm definitely going to return more often if the food continues to be this good. It is a hole in the wall, but the staff is friendly and the $5 menu is a fantastic deal. read more

Hole in the wall restaurant with great food. I love all their soups including their fish tea (soup)! Their ackee and codfish is great for breakfast which comes with provisions. I would definitely recommend them. Small so not a lot of place to sit down but that should definitely not stop you. This is a small restaurant. It's not dine in and they don't deliver. Parking is minimum. Their food is really good and affordable. There is a wide variety of food (specifically different types of chicken) to choose from. The customer service is also good. I like that the food is consistently tasty and the customer service is always good. read more

I've lived in the community for a few years and thought that I would never visit this restaurant because of the outside appearance. However, as a frequent patron of the Smoke House next door I noticed on several occasions people coming in and out of this establishment. On a whim, I decided to try. First plus, they had a grade A on the door. I went in and a young woman was placing freshly made pineapple-ginger juice in the fridge. She was plesant, told me what they had available and what they was out of and took my order. She was very nice and I cannot believe the price!!! I ordered a small bbq jerk dinner with cabbage and NO rice for $5.00; and I not talking about that small foam container. However, when I opened my order at home there was rice with a generous portion of chicken. The pineapple-ginger juice was good as well. I returned a few days later for a small fish dinner for $8.00. Great price , good service and the food was good. It reminds me of when you travel and go to the little mom and pop restaurants that taste the best. My suggestion is that you call in advance as their menu is varied but apparently everything on the menu isn't always available. read more

Bought food the other night and the food was stale. I ordered jerk chicken with macaroni pie.. the chicken was dry yet full of barbecue sauce.. the macaroni pie was filled with cayenne pepper.. It had me sick to my stomach... all night until the next day.. called the restaurant to complain and they said and I quote "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO" I'd never recommend this restaurant to anyone EVER!! read more

I went in the place to find a very small area surrounded by DVD's and CD;s. The staff was very friendly however and the aroma of the food was a nice distraction from the appearance. I ordered a small Stewed Chicken and I was amazed at the portion size. It's plenty to say the least and the most important thing was that it was exceptionally good! It had the right amount of sweetness, heat, crunch, savory, well to say that I liked it would be an understatement. I will be back to try other dishes soon. I've been here about a thousand times, the food is great, the workers are friendly and pleasant, and it smells nice and looks clean all the time. It's a small restaurant with a lot of DVDs and CDs in there but the delicious food compensates for that. My favorite meal there is there Fried Chicken with rice and peas and fried ripe plantains, the chicken is so succulent and the rice is nice and shelly and the plantains are too sweet to miss out on. I'll keep going back as long as I'm in the area! You should really try it sometime. read more

Ordered 15 pieces of fish paid in full went the next day to pickup the fish was told we only have 8 pieces when asked why didn't I receive a call the girl replied the number wasn't on the slip and I didn't think to look in the book to see if your number was there( yes my number was in the book). Further more she now wanted to charge me a different price being that o wasn't getting fifteen. I stated to her it's not my fault you didn't have enough fish so how am I now being penalized for your error her response well you don't have to take it if you don't want it. Horrible customer service. I asked who's the manager or owner she replied I'm not giving out his number and the price is the price. No one from the back came out to speak to me and the attitude was basically this is what it is. So I'm standing there 9pm the night of my party and forced to go buy fish from someplace else.
