Sad, it was so good the first time, that I tried again. The food tasted like I was at a different restaurant. The fish seemed old and very chewy, the fries were old, undercooked, and very oily, the shrimp were not jumbo and very chewy as if they were over cooked and old. I decided to try the wings and they tasted like fish and were not flavorful. Lastly, my okra was not crisp or flavorful. I passed by this place so many times and did not realize it was there until a friend told me how good the fish was. Now mind you, I visited this establishment during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey and this was one of the few establishments that were open in the area during this time. The place is small and quaint, but it had a long line of patrons waiting to place orders and more coming through the door behind me so that was a good sign in my book. I do not recall which special I had, but the dinner was three pieces of fish, fried to near perfection with a hot, thin golden crust on the outside and steam from the tantalizing deliciousness that would follow, accompanied by some fries and a salad. None of that sitting under a heat lamp...everybody's order was cooked fresh and no one seemed impatient with the wait. Yes, it was that good. I definitely plan on stopping by the next time I go through Houston. On a minor side note, please cut small holes in the corner of the containers to keep the fries crisp, but it did not stop the kid from chowing down. Big Smiles!!! read more

i am giving this place a two star because one day they are good but if you go the next day they are terrible. They are not consistent. The cook that fry the fish on Tuesday should teach all the other cooks. I went on Saturday and the fish was awful and greasy. It was like I ate at a totally different seafood joint. If I would have gotten the same experience that Tuesday then I could have given 4 stars but they are too unpredictable. It hard keeping up.
