Something simple that should be an easy win. Unfortunately, everything leaned the same direction: either it was heavy, over-sauced, or overly garlicky. It tasted more like dressed-up frozen food than something thoughtfully prepared. And listen...I don't mind indulgent. But there still has to be balance and fresh food. Fresh like it was raw and delivered today, not fresh like fried in the last 15 mins. When everything is coated, covered, and competing, nothing actually stands out. The drinks didn't help either. They leaned hard on alcohol without much flavor behind them--more "this will get you there" than "this tastes good." Nothing was terrible. But nothing made me want another bite, either. And with seafood, that's kind of the whole point. The atmosphere is friendly, great music, and the service was very attentive. Even the presentation wasn't bad. It just wasn't enough. But at some point, you stop asking what's missing and just accept that it's not landing. I was still hungry so I went next door hoping for a better experience. I want to be clear: It's not bad. It's just not working.

First time reviewing here though... But when crawfish season isn't in, atmosphere isn't the same. Authentic family owned Louisiana style, Vietnamese cooking. Cons, Down side, no wings are sold here at all. You'd think to implement wings when your hot seller is out. And generally those shrimp and rice plates are average based on the taste. I just come here for crawfish mainly when in season. If you tried other Vietnamese spots you'll understand what I'm saying. But rice can be too saturated with oil as well. Just my thought. But signature sauce makes rice taste better. No dirty rice here either? Not a bad choice around when wanting Cajun though.

Anyway, I was able to get past the communication barrier in order a two piece fish two piece shrimp meal with two sides with one side being the hush puppies and the other is fries. The fish seemed like it was seasoned pretty good. I was only able to taste a piece of it and also the shrimp and of course I did taste the fries. They were OK, but not as good as five guys when the cashier offered condiments. I noticed that he only gave one half of a container of tartar sauce . That's not good because how come I'm getting a full container of hot sauce, but not a full container of tartar sauce, make it make sense. They did give me some plasticware which I'm not using with this meal. Last but not least I tried the strawberry banana pudding. It was a 3 out of five. It's pudding I mean, what can you expect.

I was in the area and decided to finally visit this location since I had eaten a large breakfast…read morewas looking for something very light for lunch. The day I visited, they were playing zydeco and Louisiana/southern style music pretty loudly from the speakers, so if you don't like that sort of thing, with them trying to get you in the mood to eat catfish, this may not be your type of place. Their fountain machine was broken during my visit, so a bottled soda was the only option at the time. Although they have tables inside, half were out of service and not available for use. Luckily, most customers seem to order take out anyway. After looking at the small menu, I decided on the regular fish basket with a soda in the cooler. This meal came out to around $15 after tax. Fish basket - served in a to-go box. Upon opening, the fish looked pretty thin and pathetic, but after eating the filets they were fairly juicy and well-seasoned. The hush puppies are standard. The red beans and rice is actually pretty good! Their tartar sauce has been adjusted and has an orangish color with orange speckles. Overall, this quick service restaurant was alright for me but they are definitely trying to make it a to-go kind of place and for me, I am looking for a nice sit down place to relax during my lunch break without all the loud music, hustle and bustle. Plus, I rarely eat catfish, so I don't see myself returning anytime soon.

Next, I started on the seafood boil and again I had to add some seasoning too add some flavor to the dish. To me the dine in experience was lack luster and noon Existent. Also, I had to walk to the register every time I needed something, which became tiresome after several trips to ask for more condiments, scissors to cut the crab legs and my bottled water.
