The food was just oil filled and pretty tasteless. We had sandwiches, grouper and a Mahi Ruben. Grouper was loaded with whatever oil they deep fried it in. It literally poured out of the space between the breading and the fish. Absolutely disgusting! The mahi was also horrible. I got mine grilled (vs blackened) and it was like eating a frozen fish from the supermarket. Definitely not fresh. Just for some background. I've lived in this area for ever and have had probably close to a hundred mahi and mahi Ruben sandwiches over my lifetime. This mahi was not fresh. The Ambiance is always nice. This was my third time here over the year and each visit was a delight! We visited each time around lunch on a weekday. The service is friendly and the upstairs patio has a great view of the cruise ships and birds flying by. Each time, we had the grouper nuggets and they are always a crowd pleaser. I also enjoy their lobster bisque.. it brings me lots of joy to see there are several vegan options on the menu as well. I tend to get their salads topped with either ahi tuna or mahi. My wife's brother came to visit while we were staying in Cocoa beach and he wanted to eat by the water. Ironically for the area most of the beachside places are kinda trashy and get poor reviews. We decided to try Fishlips because the reviews were good. The views are a bit industrial on Port Canaveral but if Cruise ships are in port that is cool to see. The ambiance was fun and spacious. The staff were very friendly and fun. The food was excellent and the portions were good at a fair price. We had the Coconut crusted grouper and it was like $26 but was a very large portion. Honestly my wife and I probably could have split one. One of our guests had the shrimp tacos (came with 3 tacos) and she said they were amazing. Stopped for lunch when our cruise was in Port Canaveral. Met a Florida friend there, too. We had a table along the windows looking out at the water, so that was great. Our server was very good, as was the food. Two of us had the clam chowder and one had the lobster bisque. Both were excellent. I had the scallop risotto, which was also very good. It was a large portion, so I ate half and sent half home with my friend. I'm not an asparagus lover, and forgot to have those left off, so I gifted those to my friend. She had a half pound of shrimp, but it was very plentiful, and looked like it could have really been more. The portions were very generous. My husband had the seafood Diablo and loved it. I had the frozen mango margarita, which was very tasty. Their straws aren't long enough for the glasses, so getting the last little bit from the bottom, and stirring the drink up in general, were both an issue. I brought this up to our server, so maybe they'll consider getting some right-sized straws for their drinks. Do NOT come here. We are a party of 6 and we came here on June 19th, 2025 around 7:30pm. We specifically requested a low top table for my elderly grandfather, who was in a wheelchair. We were told they had a table for us on the second floor, so they had us take the elevator and said someone would meet us to seat us. We waited by that elevator for about 5 minutes. I noticed there was only one table of 6 available, so I figured that's the table they had promised us. But we didn't want to be rude and seat ourselves just in case that wasn't the table. Then we noted after a few minutes of waiting, they seat a family of THREE in that table. We decided we waited long enough and went to the host stand on the second floor to see what the deal was. When we asked where our table was, it magically disappeared and they had no table big enough to seat us. They offered a high top table of six, but again we had a wheelchair with us. The hostess called what seemed to be a manger to help her figure out the situation. I heard her ask the manager if she should ask the party of 3 to move, but the manager immediately shut that idea down and said they can't do that. After about 10 more minutes of waiting, they finally decided to squeeze us at a table that only fits 4....for our party of 6. No apology or anything, so unprofessional and impractical. I don't understand why they couldn't just explain to the family of 3 that THEY made a mistake and the table was reserved already for someone with a wheelchair. I am sure if they explained the situation to the family (and maybe offered some free food for the inconvenience) the family of 3 would understand. But no, they would rather make us upset than those people. I don't like bringing up race, but I feel like it's important to note that we were a brown family and the party of 3 was a white family. I feel like it's also important to note that they didn't offer us anything to make up for the inconvenience. The food was okay, nothing extraordinary and overpriced. Our waitress was really nice though, the only good part of that experience. In summary, don't waste your time here. Go to Rusty's instead, we only came here because Rusty's line was out the door and we were starving. read more

Came here while waiting for fireworks by The Exploration Tower. This is right next to where all the cruise ships are. There are a handful of restaurants in this area which we never knew about until this visit. Considering it was a busy day with fireworks happening later on, we didn't wait too long for a table. We did wait quite a while for service. No one came by, and we think the guy that had the table next to us skipped over us due to a table with a bigger party. We than stopped another server and let her know and she gladly took over our table. We ordered fried calamari and coconut crusted grouper. Both were pretty good. They have a main level and a top area upstairs with a bar. They also have an outside area with a water view. We were happy with our dinner. We didn't think we were having dinner that night because of the time fireworks were over so it was perfect for us. Don't forget to take a pic in front with the surf board. We ate dinner here recently, hoping to watch an evening rocket launch. We ordered the Korean Nachos because it was different and others had raved about it. It was spectacular. My wife and I cleaned the entire plate. For our main courses, I got the gumbo and my wife got the corn dip (another appetizer). The gumbo was spicy & excellent. The corn dip was good, not great. For dessert, we got two ice cream drinks: the strawberry & cream colada, and the Keylime colada. Both were excellent. The strawberry one was sweet, the Keylime one was sour. We were stuffed. It was about 20 minutes wait time so we killed that time at the bar with a drink. The cucumber watermelon margarita was my poison and it was FIRE! Definitely recommend that one. The menu offered ample selection and I was happy to have tasted a trio of offerings. I started with lobster bisque and enjoyed it immensely. Really creamy and nice lobster flavor. Perfectly finished with oyster crackers atop. Keeping in line with the seafood theme, I ordered the ahi tacos for a main and wow! They exceeded my expectations. The mango slaw was just sweet enough for the spice to stay at bay. Really loved theses tacos. I am coming back for another round of those! Similar experience as before. Food is not good. The fish was overcooked and the onion rings were all fried bread. My friends loved the fried shrimp. Fishlips in Cape Canaveral is located within the Port of Canaveral and it's the exactly the type of Florida waterfront dining I go for! Fishlips is an attractive restaurant too, not only is the location great but it is decorated well and kept clean and neat. It has great picturesque views of the port and plenty of open air dining to enjoy the great Florida weather. If the weather's not so good or outdoor dining isn't your preference, don't worry, this large multi level restaurant has plenty of indoor seating. The food is very good as well. This place boasts a large menu with very interesting fusion options and of course plenty of fresh seafood. There is literally something for everyone on the menu no matter what mood you're in or craving you have. They also have a large selection of drink offerings which includes many award winning martinis. The only negative would be the wait time for food. We sat at the bar outside upstairs and while the bartender was very nice and accommodating, she was running a show that was too much for one person. They should have had another bartender out there with her. She took a while (understandably) to get back to you or serve a drink being alone with a fully seated bar and the slow kitchen didn't help. Places like this should be staffed and prepared for a busy weekend evening so that was a let down but it was the only one. The service was OK at Fishlips, but my favorite part was the view from the second floor patio. Right now is nesting season for dolphin, so we got to see the whole family with it baby dolphins and it was cool to see that from where we were sitting eating dinner in the port there. We also had the Keylime pie for dessert, but it was a little too dense and it had like a cream cheese or icing type of frosting instead of your typical merengue. I personally wasn't a fan of that one. The service was touch and go so I would say that you can expect that on a Saturday night though because they were pretty busy and everywhere seems to be understaffed around there. read more

I really enjoy this restaurant. Not only do they have some amazing views, their food is very good. I was a little worried because it looked like it was going to rain, but thankfully once we got there we saw that they had things that would come down and prevent us from getting wet even if we sat upstairs, which has the best views. Honestly, their shrimp skewers were so good that we ordered them for the table as an appetizer and ended up ordering them for our dinner too. My husband and I were really in the mood for something more fresh and less battered and fried. They absolutely delivered. For dinner, we split the shrimp skewers and caprese salad. They were fresh and delicious and exactly what we wanted. His sister got the macaroni and cheese and she said it was some of the best she has had! First, if you are looking for a hot spot in Cape Canaveral Florida before a cruise, stop in here and go to the upstairs. I would recommend reservations!!!! Any night is a must. We did not have reservations and our options was only upstairs to the bar. Which for us was no problem and you could easily find two persons or three person seating. Now of course it was not a Sunday night it was raining cats and dogs that night so that they have played into it. The service really was wonderful as soon as we stepped in the door everyone asked me to help you may help you do you have a reservation. If not they send us upstairs which up there somebody was ready to ask us may I help you and may I help you and for what would you like to sit. Like I say upstairs there is a different ambience compared to the first floor. The first floor is a little calmer where, the upstairs has all the TVs on and it is a little louder than the family type seating area in the first floor. We would have gladly take either place. Down to the food. We both had their Fish and Chips. I love the fish and chips!! I love a good crunchy fish and chips! These were. Pub battered haddock with fries and coleslaw. Again, if you are in this area and just looking for a happening place that has great food, stop here. I decided to give Fishlips another try and I am so glad I did. I visited pre-cruise and really enjoyed the food and drinks. My mom also enjoyed her meal, the service was prompt and friendly. We ordered the Fried Seafood Platter, MOS burger, calamari, both meals came with fries. The calamari was so good, we should have just ordered two. My mom enjoyed her burger and the seafood platter was very filling and arrived hot. The menu probably has something for everyone, it has a variety of items, from seafood to pasta, with steaks thrown in the mix. I also ordered the house margarita, which was pretty good. We really enjoyed our visit, left full and satisfied. We requested to be seated downstairs and I am glad we did because the elevators were out. I did not want my mom having to climb up and down stairs (fall risk). The weather was perfect, but we still opt-ed to sit inside. I will be back for another cruise and may just stop by here again.
