This features pretend buildings like the fire station and the police station. It seems good for the whole family. Kids can learn about safety. The rest of the park has great views of the creek and the woods.

The entrance is right at the end of an intersection, so traffic can be a pain sometimes, but luckily I live within walking distance! They also have a fishing pier and there's Miller Park right next door with a mini beach and picnic areas. It's a great place to get some fresh (sometimes fishy) air and listen to the Jet Skis zoom by.

Great playground!…read more This park is right on the water. There is a great playground area for kids with a zip line and multi story slide. Even a smaller sections of play equipment for younger kids. Lots of benches and picnic tables to watch the kids or have a meal. There is also beach access walking down some large rock stairs. The beach is a decent size with lots of flat rocks. Beware of all the dead fish. Not sure if they get cleaned up during certain parts of the year but on our visit there were a lot. Still a beautiful view!

Most of the areas you have to be a member to access but you can eat at the restaurant even if you are not a member. They also have a great view of the sunset.

They are nice people, but have no clue how to get things done right. I made the mistake of purchasing a new boat from Beaver Park marina. I had to take the boat back 10 times for repairs and most of the repairs were for the same issues. Some components on the boat never worked and still do not work. They said the components are just cheaply made and they couldn't do anything about it. However, when purchasing the boat, they insisted that the boat was a great buy with solid features and components. It is sad they are still in business and I feel for anyone who falls victim to them for service or buying a boat. Just note when you do buy from them you are on your own and there will be no support from Beaver Park. STAY AWAY, HORRIBLE.

The animal area now has interactive exhibits. Lots for kids to learn about wildlife, water pollution, etc. they even have a history of ship building of Lorain with some fun exhibits on display. There are also many stations of workout equipment set up along the trail which is a nice touch. In the middle of it all is a man-made hill where children bike down in summer and sled down in winter. My only complaint would be that there are no restrooms, geese poop and geese are everywhere, and the lake is a little swampy. Additionally, there is always a little graffiti on the equipment, but that is always addressed.

We were there getting our boat out and wasn't even there a few hours and someone stole the plate off our trailer. Plus you always see people just hanging out. Most are there to enjoy the water but some are there to spoil the fun. At least the boat ramps have nice gates with key access to keep people off the boats and locked bathroom access.
