This place is MASSIVE but easy to navigate. I'm just getting back into fishing so I guess you could say I'm getting started again. Kyle was a big help in advising me on what to get for the kind of fishing I'll be doing. The selection is far beyond anything I could have expected. Store is so nice. Definitely one of the better tackle shops ive been too. Only problem is that it was miserably hot in there. I dont know if the AC was down but I started sweating right away and it smelled funky as soon as you walk in. The workers are very knowledgeable and very great customer service. Haven't been here since they moved. New store is bigger and has a even better selection. Bought a new rod and reel today and brought a few of my other reels for new line. They helped me out and had me on my way in 10-15 minutes. The price I found online was slightly cheaper but, what they don't have is helpful employees who can answer all your questions, put the line on for you. As a business owner I feel it's very important to shop local and keep small businesses, in business or we won't have local shops to go to anymore. Thanks for the help. read more

Great store. Inventory is a bit expensive but it's worth it because advice and tips come with the service. One comment though, and it's not a big deal... kind of curious about their military discount program. An employee told me that it's only for active duty service members and not for Veterans. I hadn't been to this store in a while. That being said I was welcomed by a HUGE selection of both fresh and saltwater rods, lures, clothing and accessories. They have a beautiful store and all is very well organized. There is a young kid there with glasses who wasn't very helpful at all during my purchase. I spent around $500+ on a new rod and reel set up and he was so reluctant to help. He was pretty much talking down to me the entire time making it seem he was better than me for being more knowledgeable. Seemed like he hated the fact we had so many questions. For that reason I wouldn't come back and purchase anything while he is there. But the store itself seems fine and fairly priced. read more

So this review comes with hesitation Ive bought tackle from this store and like the selection but that is not what i'm reviewing. This is in regards to service dept. Recently my buddy took my reel to get serviced at your shop. It's a pen fathom LW the lever was sticking and becoming hard to move. when i got my reel back the arm and handle were missing. they said they misplaced it and replaced it with another but it was different the. the OEM power handle buy hey at least the thing was fishable again. It took them two weeks to find a handle. I went on one trip and about three drops i'm the lever would not stay in free spool. I had to hold it down on every cast which was awkward but got through it. I don't live next to fisherman's access and due to the fact they already messed up my handle i didn't want to go back there. I took it to a local shop that i recently found and the owned opened my reel and not only was it filthy dirty for newly. ring serviced they slapped grease everywhere. He found out the the reason it was not staying in free spool is there was washer on the lever that was missing. it is a molded piece that allows it to click in place. WTH!!! Never going to go here again for repairs. My buddy who took my reel also got his reels serviced there and is having issues too. Also they fixed a tip on his rod that came loose the next trip...gluing a rod top guide come on now!?! read more

This place is top notch! I was referred here by a local fisherman that I've seen a couple times around Laguna Lake. When I got here for the first time, I was like a kid in a candy store. Everything you can think of, this place has it. The few times I've been here, I've been greeted by Frank (the owner) within just a couple seconds of entering the shop. What I like most about this place is their customer service. They aren't pushy at all and are totally relaxed. I was asked what I was looking for and I got shown exactly that. I got made a couple suggestions that were related to what I was looking for as well. Frank told me about Yorba Linda Regional and how there was tons of fish in there. He also told me what lures he used to catch tons of fish. Frank suggest to me a little popper...man, he wasn't wrong about about this thing producing. I've never been able to hook up a Bass and today I hooked up 5! This place is my go to when I'm looking for help and new tackle. Please give these guys a try and you won't be let down. Don't like leaving negative reviews but the service department really needs help here they don't know what they are doing. prices on everything on the store are great and they have huge selection of stuff but the reel service sucks. took a talica 10ii for service. took it out once and the side plate was loose and now the handle goes backwards sometimes when its in gear. had to take it to Shimano to fix it... also took my friends 2 avets and one was new only had it out one trip but he decided to service it anyway. took it out on one trip after getting it serviced and its grinding.. never going to take a reel for service there again. beware and take it to the manufacturer for service. read more

They took a lot of care in setting up the new store and how they wanted to present the product. Great selection of lures, tackle, hooks, and clothing. If you're in North OC, this is the place for fishing tackle and now you don't have to turn to get through the aisle like in their old store.
