FOTS offers good food but very little in terms of selection. Everything is fried, and it all ends up tasting the same. It seems like the kitchen lost their salt shaker, and it would help the food. And once you've ordered and paid, be prepared to wait a long time to get your food, which somehow still comes out of the kitchen only warm, not hot. The bonus here is reliably fresh seafood that you can take away and eat river side while watching the sun set. You can also sit on the roof in good weather and watch either the river or ocean side. Park on the street or in one of the many side lots along the way, as the parking lot on site is always full.

sit on the upper deck to take in the views of the sea and boats. It is your typical fish and chips store set up but it is dam good food.

Good tasty cheap seafood. Fast delivery. Best calamari I have ever tasted, and healthy/decent serving sizes

Always good quality seafood, and they often have a plate of fresh cut watermelon for you to help yourself too while you wait for your order

Good food and medium $$. Brilliant view from up the top and easy to get to. The oil is changed rarely though which is a bit disappointing.

You can buy your fresh goodies items and eat at the tables outside or upstairs overlooking the ocean.

The prices are very reasonable given the quality, but don't expect to get the kind of rock-bottom prices you might get in an Asian grocery store, for instance (where the quality won't be as good). You have several options here: you can get fresh fish or seafood and take it home and cook it yourself, or you can buy already cooked items (prawns, smoked salmon, moreton bay bugs), or you can get fish and chips with a variety of fish options (there's always a daily special for $11-$13 incl chips), or you can eat in the restaurant upstairs and enjoy the view, or you can even get food from the shop and then bring it to the restaurant to eat at no additional charge. We were in town for a few days so we tried them all. All the fresh stuff is of excellent quality, but beware that the cooked seafood was likely cooked in seawater and might be a little salty for some people's taste. The daily fish from the fish and chips will likely be delicious. The chips weren't my favorite, but still pretty good. The restaurant food is tops: I had grilled calimari, and it was terrific. Nice friendly atmosphere in the restaurant, and good service.

It was extremely good value with a great selection of cold and hot seafood. We weren't particularly impressed by the oysters - they natural oysters were a little small and the oysters Kilpatrick were smothered in a strange tasting sauce mixed with cheap commercial bacon cubes. The best things on the platter were the calamari and the prawns. Instead of ordering a platter we'd probably just order that next time. Our friend ordered the eye fillet medium rare - and it looked well done to me. Service was a little slow and slightly haphazard - we only received our meals one hour from the time that we arrived at the restaurant! But the staff were friendly and BYO is a plus!

Oysters for entree were fresh and still stuck to shell which is perfect. We shared the seafood platter for two. Only $80 (add whiting for $8) we could hardly eat it all. Had a lot of options and plenty generous, 10 big fresh prawns, salmon, oysters natural and kilpatrick, massive pieces of calamari, 3 bugs halved/mor bay, chips and fresh salad/fruit. Others had the barramundi special! Now this is the meal to get if not sharing. Amazing! Dtraks are cooked perfect too! Drinks are cheap...$4.50 tap beers, $13 cocktails. Desert you just try the sticky date! We were full so definitely recommend sharing. We will be back!
