More than your average tavern. The food is great, the service is normally better than fair. The view is fantastic

Wife & I took off for a weekend a few weeks back. Kept forgetting to do a write up in here. I's…read moreright by the IGA , Same side, up the stairs. not beachside. Going upstairs it reminded me of a roadhouse back in the states, but no peanut shells on the floor. Beer was cold, but a bit pricy (off season resort town). We both ordered steaks, fries & some coleslaw, I added ribs to mine. Ribs were hmmm... a little off the mark and I don't know why. Too wet & sloppy I think, meat was like it was boiled & kinda "mushy"". Sauce was good, but the ribs didn't thrill me. Got better ribs @ the carolina kitchen over in Cooperoo I think. The steak however, was absolutely out of this world. Very, very, flavorful, juicy and done just like my wife... rare. Coleslaw might have well been a pile of sticks. Atmosphere was kinda honky tonk without the hats & music. All things combined, I'd give it a 7 out of 10 stars on the food. Slightly overpriced but the steak made up for it. It's worth a go, but trade in the cole slaw for a different side dish. trust me on this.

For me the Alex bar and grill does it right. I have eaten there on many occasions and have always…read moreenjoyed my meal throughly. The ribs are fall off the bone and reasonably priced on Thursdays (and some other special days) but can get a bit expensive on other standard days. Still, probably the best slow cooked pork ribs on the Sunshine Coast and it is a pleasure to eat there every time. Always friendly staff that would recognise me and my mates and ensure we were always looked after. No complaints in the 15+ times I have eaten there. A solid choice for a hungry man!

I came here for a three day Rotary Conference and the space was fantastic. The Events Centre was…read morecreated for versatile events and is a great, central location in the Sunshine Coast with a car park right across the street making parking a non issue. The room could seat up to 450 and we had about 300 attendees which was a perfect fit. There was plenty of space for everyone. Outside of the main room, the foyer was used as our House of Friendships were several booths promoting various Rotary programs were being shared. The Elevations Bar was spacious and where we had drinks, nibbles, and morning tea. This area connected to an outdoor deck. You could smoke on the deck so I didn't go out there but once. The morning tea was decent. They provided coffee and tea and one day had sweet muffins (chocolate or blueberry) while the next day had savory muffins (spinach and pumpkin or bacon and egg). For lunch, we had brown bags packed with an option of a chicken caesar or ham and cheese sandwich with a piece of fruit, cheese and crackers, juice, and a piece of candy. It was filling and the sandwich was quite tasty. I had the chicken caesar and it had chicken, egg, lettuce, bits of bacon, and mayo. We also had a dinner and dance once evening as our big event. We had a three course meal and it was pretty tasty. I had the salmon for an entree, lamb shank for my main, and lemon tart for my dessert. The food was pretty tasty. The mashed potatoes needed more salt but I was OK with that. The lamb shank was so tender and delicious! The lemon tart was super tart but I like tart desserts and came with a small piece of white chocolate on top. The bread rolls were also provided. The facilities were up to date and very professional. Even those sitting in the back had projected screens close to them and the audio and visual technology was great. You can walk to the beach from this RSL as well as some accommodations and shopping centers. A great weekend was had and I really enjoyed my visit here! It would be great to host an event here!

We went when there was a trivia night on, whether that's your thing or not (it wasn't personally ours) the food is so good you won't be bothered by it. I would 100% recommend the food here and I will definitely be returning!
