Decided to try our luck upstairs for a pre dinner drink. I suspect the G&T suffered a little dilution, aligned with service which deteriorated further in my mind when advised that if we did not order by 1930 we could not expect dinner. At that juncture the decision was taken to move on to an establishment that understood the meaning of Service.

There was no sign of a 'please wait to be seated' sign, and none of the waitstaff paused long enough for us to be directed to our table. So I made my way up to the counter and asked where we were seated. The woman behind the counter pointed at a table in the corner. I asked if that was us, and was given a quick 'yep'. Ok, sure. Fine. A bit abrupt, but it looks like a large table is clearing out and ready to pay, so I can forgive that. My wife and I went to have a seat. And thus we start the waiting game (it does suck. Play Hungry Hippos instead). When we sat down, we made a concious effort to leave our glasses overturned (the international sign of 'No one has been to see us yet'). Numerous waitstaff went past, while we sat, waiting for a glass of water, waiting for someone to take a drink order, waiting for a menu. I saw every staff member in the place walk right past, not one acknowledging our presence. After ten minutes, the woman behind the counter had finally dealt with the outgoing table. Finally. She must be the only one who actually deals with customers. She walked up and then... turned left and started cleaning the table of the people who had just left. There wasn't anyone waiting for a table, everyone else had food, and we had had absolutely no interaction with a member of staff since sitting down. Another five minutes pass. She's cleaned that table and set it, then gone onto another table! Five minutes more, and we just walk out. So yeah, the food looks alright, from what we could see on other people's plates. But I couldn't tell you about it. I don't even know what's on their menu. Service was a 0 to such an extent that I can't honestly review it on anything else.

For two of us with the meats, sides and two Brazilian beers and two Bacardi based cocktails we rolled out the door with a $120 bill. Try and get that quality and quantity of food and service elsewhere for that amount...,no you won't . Lunch was sub perv as well, yes we visited this place twice in one day it was that good. For lunch I had the samba burger which was a Brazilian house special and my partner had the Thai beef salad with a cocktail and beer which cost us $44. I ate here after reading the one review currently posted and went in thinking I might add a review…read moremyself. Deciding whether to give 3 or 4 stars has been difficult to decide and taken careful consideration. I started with the Carpaccio di Bresaola ($19), comprised of a generous portion of shaved cured beef with a garnish of rocket, wedge of lemon, crostini, and cracked pepper. This was followed by the fish special of the day which was an adequate portion of grilled snapper served on a saffron, leek, and scallop risotto and dressed with a creamy lemon sauce ($35). Both these tasted great. The food was of a high quality, the idea of the starter was well conceived, and I appreciated the care to provide high quality daily specials using clearly fresh produce and that the risotto was al dente and well balanced. Chilled tap water was provided and as I'm working I also had a can of Coke Zero ($3.50). I was attended dutifully by cheerful and professional staff who cared for me well. The menu items were interesting, varied, and reassuringly limited in number. I can also confirm the tip offered by the previous reviewer suggesting that close attention be paid to the specials of the day as they're clearly informed by choices of freshly available local food (as well as their opinion that the decor is significantly dated). My concern about giving four stars is that the pricing of this meal was too high. For me, this is three dollar sign pricing for a very good two dollar sign dinner. The carpaccio salad would need to be bulked with literally 10x - 20x as much rocket to be shared by two people and while the snapper was prepared excellently and the risotto technique was good, it wasn't flawless (eg scallop too chewy due to overcooking) and the serving size, again fell slightly short, really indicating that a soup or dessert course is probably warranted for a fulsome meal, which needs to be considered in the context of your dinner budget. I'm wondering whether the location, on the waterfront with a curved frontage overlooking the beach, in a touristy town surrounded by hotels and beachside holiday accommodation may force their rent to levels requiring these kinds of prices. The food was good, the staff took care of me, and I appreciate the daily consideration of freshly available local produce, so I lean toward a rating of 4 stars but I will suggest the Yelp summary of this restaurant be changed to three dollar signs and I'm be interested in whether future reviewers will consider their dining experience matches their three dollar sign bill.
