The level of service we have received from start to finish has been exceptional. Communication was excellent regarding the initial measuring up, to the design, to visiting the showroom to finalise plans and book in the job, to daily updates on progress and plans for the next day and being available whenever required to help accommodate changes. The guys even gave up their Saturdays and worked into the evenings some days to make sure that progress stayed on track. The entire HHI team have been hard working, polite, trustworthy, punctual, reliable, understanding, and accommodating to last minute changes. They really couldn't have done more for us and nothing was too much trouble. The selection of products and services available is vast and the level of expertise you receive is high. Every small detail has been considered and it's clear to see that the team take pride in what they do, they are all perfectionists with a passion for their trades. The quality and standard of finish is second to none and we really could not be happier with our new bedroom, en-suite bathroom and storage rooms. There is also an array of smaller bits and bobs including mirrors, vases, paintings, ornaments, lamps, picture frames etc. so it's quite a good place for homely gifts as well as bigger household purchases. Generally the style here is tasteful with a bit of character, with most designs quite simple but with an unusual touch, such as the basketwork dining chairs or blocky wooden drawers with chunky square handles. The products at Pad aren't cheap but they appear to be of high quality and you can find pieces that really stand out, such as a circular mirror framed by large carved chunks of wood that would be the centrepiece of any room. The lady who works there is very helpful and they will order in any items they haven't got on the shop floor so it pays to ask if you can't see what you're looking for. I couldn't help him and said in passing that I was looking for Maplin's, he promptly gave me directions and I was soon in this Aladdin's Cave of electrical components. Being slightly out of the city centre this electronics shop is vast compared to my other experiences of Maplin's. You can get loads of little bits from transistors, to hard drives and a cacophony of wires to larger goods such as disco lights. Everything is here to enable you to vamp up any gadget you may have lurking in the house. Despite the size the layout is well devised, staff are able to find things quickly and can offer what seems to be knowledgeable advice on what you need, although I am no expert.
