Before anything was done, I clearly told them I was the paying authority and needed to approve the cost before any work was performed. Instead, they went ahead and did the work without authorization, then tried charging me an outrageous $230. When I questioned it, I was told they "don't fucking care" and threatened with a lien on my property. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. I understand paying for legitimate work, which is why I still paid $180, but no company should perform work without approval and then bully customers afterward. If there is a trip fee or inspection charge, be upfront about it like every professional business does. Customer service, communication, and professionalism were nonexistent here. I will never use this company again and would strongly recommend others get pricing and written approval terms upfront before dealing with them.

I am now living in the house I grew up in, built in 1954. My parents used Clayton Lee for years;…read morenaturally, when I moved in I have used them, too. I have plans to insulate the house (it has NONE) so called CL to check the attic if it still had any of the original pipes in the house. Of course it did! CL had replaced piping back during the freeze of 2021. It did so made plans to re-pipe. It did but I had one caveat: I did NOT want the interior walls cut into, since CL doesn't repair drywall or tile. So, Steve and I made a plan that the piping and insulation around it would be done on the outside walls. They hid the new piping that would've been on the front of the house to the side, the rest was done either on the back of the house or in the garage and moved the 2 yard faucets in such a way that it is actually easier for this old lady to use! They had to finish up the next day because it started raining on them! I am THRILLED with what they did, and now I don't have to worry about frozen pipes & the black insulation actually matches the black trim on the white house! I can now get the attic insulation w/out concern for the insulation getting & having to start over!! MANY kudos to Steve & his team for a GREAT JOB!!!!

Warning!!! I recommend carefully evaluating this company before hiring them…read more I contacted the company to clear a slow or clogged main drain line on my AC system. Water from the backup was dripping from the attic from the exterior pipe which is the warning sign. Before the technician arrived, my air conditioner was operating normally; the drain line was the only issue I had observed. The technician worked in the attic to flush the AC drain line and said to install a diverter valve. Approximately one hour after he left, the entire AC system stopped operating and would not turn on. I immediately contacted the company and requested that they return. When the company returned, I was told that the circuit board had failed and that I would need either a replacement circuit board or a new furnace. The furnace itself had not been the subject of the requested service; I had only requested that the AC drain line be cleared. I then contacted a second HVAC company to inspect the system. According to that company, wiring connected to the circuit board had been disconnected and the board had been left disabled. They left it that way!!!! The second company's assessment was that the company likely did something by accident and did not want to take accountability. The cause of the failure remains disputed. The original company attributed the problem to a failed circuit board and did not accept responsibility for the system becoming inoperable after its visit. Based on the estimates provided, I was told the repair could cost approximately $1,500 for a circuit-board replacement or approximately $6,500 for a new furnace. I paid $790 to have the slow or clogged drain line cleared. Before the service, the AC was operating; afterward, the system was unusable. Because of the timing and the conflicting explanations, I recommend obtaining a second opinion and confirming exactly what work was performed before authorizing additional repairs. Maybe they are good for tiny repairs but don't let them near any expensive parts. I would never have them install a brand new system!!!! My house is over 90 degrees and even hotter upstairs. With my elderly mother and 3 young kids we had to check in to a hotel for a few days while I find someone the fix or replace the unit. Very disappointing Milton. Thanks for letting a single mom down.
