Tangy Lemon Basa FishRegular Portion(With 1x Rice)
    Cheryl G.

I was a little worried when we arrived at 6 PM on a Saturday night and the place was almost empty. But never fear, Fish With You lives up to the hype! Since we had never been before, my man and I decided to err on the side of caution as far as spice goes. We started out with the crispy squid, which came out almost immediately. Hot and delicious with just a little bit of ice spicy salt on the side. For the main course I had the lemon Basa soup and my man had the crispy chicken tomato soup. Both were advertised as not being spicy and both were absolutely fantastic. I could seriously eat that lemon soup every day! For my add-ins, I went for Inoki mushrooms and cabbage, and got a side of noodles. They also put a generous amount of tofu in the soup. It was light, tangy, refreshing, and completely satisfying. I could only eat about half of it so I took the other half home for lunch for the next day. My man's crispy chicken soup was awesome too. It had a deliciously decadent tomato soup base, a ton of fried chicken strips, and also came with a generous amount of tofu. He got rice with his, but he was jealous of my noodles. The ambience inside is kind of stark but it's clean and neat. Within 20 minutes of us getting there the whole restaurant was full so we hit it at the sweet spot on a Saturday night! I will 100% be back to this restaurant. Looking forward to trying their number one best seller next time which is advertised as being mildly spicy.

NGL, I was a bit hesitant to join my fiancée at Fish With You. It's not that I'm not adventurous, I was just completely unfamiliar with a menu centered on fish and cabbage soup. I was pleasantly surprised and ended up LOVING it! I ordered the Crispy Chicken with Tomato flavor soup in a regular size, and I purposely chose the no-to-mild spice level, which was delicious. My fiancée had the Tangy Lemon Basa Fish with a side of noodles. The flavor was rich and perfectly balanced - not at all overpowering. You order via a QR code at the table, but the server was still very friendly and quick with the delivery. I had heard the large portion was massive, so I stuck with the regular, and even then I could barely finish it. I only managed a few bites of my side of rice because it was so much food. If you're hesitating, just go - you'll thank me later!

The portions are huge. Soups are packed with flavor. The rice somehow tastes better than normal rice. Staff are always super helpful if you're feeling overwhelmed by options. Food comes out fast. If you're craving soup and rice, you have to try Fish with You. My go to soup with the sauerkraut fish soup with woodear mushroom and vermicelli noodles. It's a great lunch spot.

I was a little skeptical because I didn't really understand what sauerkraut fish dishes were. To my surprise, I ended up enjoying the food here so much more than I thought and it's definitely a great comfort food when it gets cold. I ordered the Royal Tomato with Basa Fish. There's an option to upgrade to Snakehead fish but since I didn't know what the difference was, I chose the cheaper option. I also chose enoki mushrooms and napa cabbage for my two toppings. The fish was super tender and the soup was this slightly thick tomato base. I'm not really sure how to describe the flavor but it bordered between slightly sweet and savory with a hint of tanginess. We also ordered some Crispy Pork and Brown Sugar Rice Cakes. With the sides and the small portion of the main entree, this was more than enough food and I ended up taking leftovers home. Highly recommend if you've never been!

Ever since they opened, I've been really excited to try Fish With You. Szechuan suan cai yu soup is such a comforting meal, especially in colder weather, and I love that a restaurant specializing in this dish has opened in Convoy. I stopped by recently and was really impressed with the food. There was no wait on a Saturday afternoon and we were quickly seated. We had to scan a QR code for the menu and to place our food orders so service interaction is minimal. I love QR menus but it did make it slightly harder for the elderly people in our group to navigate and read the menu. We ordered crispy pork as an appetizer and several variations of their fish soups, all in small size, as our individual entrees. Fried pork was good but not really memorable. The real star of the show were the fish soups. We were shocked with how large the portions were. A small portion is definitely enough for one person, or even two to share, and a large portion should definitely be shared between 2-4 people. The fish was very tender and the broth was really flavorful and had the perfect balance of spicy and sour. Parking is a bit hard to find with the busy plazas but we parked in a nearby plaza and walked over. As I mentioned, service is minimal but they are friendly enough. I don't live nearby or else I would definitely come by more often. We're definitely looking forward to our next visit when we are in the Convoy area.

Came for lunch with a friend and decided to try the signature fish since the waitress said it was one of their most popular dishes. I was torn between that and the tomato soup, so we asked if we could sample the soup and the cook was nice enough to bring out both the tomato and signature bases for us to try. The tomato was a bit on the sour side, but the signature was good. It is a little oily, but overall I enjoyed it and i love the chewy noodles in the soup. I'd give it a solid 7/10. The portion is huge for one person. I couldn't finish my bowl, but at the same time I didn't feel super full from it either.

If you haven't had boiled fish (suan cai yu) before, this place is absolutely a must-try. It's one of those dishes that looks intimidating but ends up being incredibly comforting and addictive. Their signature suancai fish isn't actually that spicy, which makes it perfect even for people who can't handle a ton of heat. The broth has that tangy, savory flavor from the pickled mustard greens and a bit of Sichuan peppercorn. The quality of the fish is ridiculous. It has slight bouncy texture that you only get from well-prepared fillets. Portions are big! A large easily feeds two people, maybe even three if you add rice or a couple sides. Definitely good value for the amount of food you get. It gets really busy on weekends. People start showing up right at opening, so if you don't want to wait, go early or try weekdays. There's plenty of seating though. Service is decent. You order everything through a QR code and pour your own water, so don't expect much interaction. I'm not complaining though. Food comes out fast.

I crave this place now! Especially the signature suancai dish. I love the flavor of suancai and it tastes healthier with fish vs. meat, and the broth is flavorful but not too heavy. They cook the fish and all the ingredients really well, and I don't leave feeling as parched as I do with some other soup places. I also tried the tomato beef soup and it was also delicious. The tomato flavor is really distinct so if you don't like tomato soup, you probably won't like it. But I enjoyed it and would get it again. This is great cold weather / rainy day food! Service is nice and the portions are huge and a great value for the price. Even with the regular size, it could last me 2 meals.

Fish with you is a great place located in Convoy! They have something called sauerkraut fish which was really good! We got the sauerkraut fish and the hot beef soup, which were both really nice! I got one with rice and one with noodles and I would recommend the rice as I thought they just gave some more. We also got the fried pork side which was also amazing and I would recommend. You can order on a website at the table which I really enjoyed. The portion sizes are pretty okay. We ordered 2 of the soups and 1 side which just was enough to feed 2 people. The service was nice and they gave the food out really fast. The ambiance was clean as well. Parking was also not too difficult to find as well. It is located in a little plaza with many other restaurants there. Overall, I would recommend going here!

Amazing saukerkraut fish! The sour and spicy fish hit so good. The servers are lean but mighty. They do quick services and requests. The ambiance is clean. Spacing is efficient.

    Crispy Pork

I had high hopes for this place after a friend hyped it up and the Yelp reviews looked good. But wow... what a letdown! I ordered the Signature Suancai & Fish (Large Side) and the mild crispy pork. The pork was okay, probably the only halfway decent part of the meal, and even that wasn't worth writing home about. But the Signature Suancai & Fish? HELLA SALTY. It was so aggressively over-salted I could barely eat it. The potato glass noodles in it were also undercooked; still stiff and chewy, I spat it out. The food came out in literally less than 5 minutes. That's not fast service, that's bare minimum effort. I wanted to try the glutinous rice balls, but at that point I figured the "bad chef" must've been working that day and didn't want to risk another disappointment. Don't think I'll be coming back.

    Jelly and Popping Boba

TLDR: Yes, a large suancai fish is more than enough for TWO people, could easily satisfy 3 if there were more fish. A friend of mine brought up the idea of eating here for dinner - suancai yu? That's a new one for me, sure! Parking was fairly difficult on a weekend afternoon, but there's ample parking a block or two away, about a 5 minute walk - not too shabby. Ordering was through a QR code online, and we had their large suancai and fish as well as their brown sugar rice cake. The jelly was complimentary, which was nice. The suancai yu? Quite flavorful; the sweet and sour definitely shined through. However, the dish did become more and more salty as we ate it. Even with rice, it eventually felt a chore to eat. There also wasn't too much fish. The brown sugar rice cakes were definitely an impulsive order, and they did leave some more to be desired. They satisfied the savory part but neither the wallet nor the chewy part. The jellies with popping boba though offered at the beginning were saved until the end - the perfect dessert. Service was rather quick; once our order was sent in, we waited maybe 10 minutes tops. And the space is quite large. There weren't many people at the time, and it was relaxing to eat here - a rather stark contrast to the hashashah of the mouth surviving spicy.

Met up with a girlfriend for a midweek lunch, and there was no wait and plenty of open seating. The restaurant decor reflected the modernity and efficiency of the service - we ordered via QR code and each dish was brought to us as it was ready. The Regular portion of the #1 bestseller Laotan Suancai Soup - we upgraded the standard Basa fish to Snakehead - was enough for both of us to share, especially since the kind staff preemptively gave us 2 bowls of rice on the side rather than just the 1 that's officially included with the Regular option. We chose tofu and mushrooms as our mix-ins, and had nothing but praise for this signature Sichuan dish. The Yummy Crispy Pork was exactly as the title would indicate, and the Brown Sugar Glutinous Rice Cake served as a not-overly-sweet dessert option. Bang-on flavors plus bang for your buck!

This place is decieving on many levels and subverts expectations in the best way possible. Walking in you wouldn't think much. I was surprised by the tall ceilings; this place is not large in square footage but it doesn't feel cramped in any way. We opted for the online menu as it included pictures, though not on every item. Very reasonable prices for generous portions. Every dish was a winner, though some better than others in the minute details. The Hainanese Chicken Rice was tender and rich that the ginger sauce cut through, but the color was strikingly yellow. The Rotisserie Chicken Salad offered a welcome sight of veggies, though the chicken itself tasted like that straight from Costco. The Scallion Pancake was crispy on the edges, doughy in the center, and you only get one per order. The Shitake Mushroom Minced Pork had no drawbacks, and would come back just for this. Combining familiar flavors and spices, adding roasted vegetables and rice made this a complete meal! We were unbothered by the service staff the entire time until asking for the check, strange as we were the only two in the restaurant. However, with these minor setbacks, I will be coming back to try their noodles, soups, and desserts!

The restaurant is small and fills in quick so you gotta get on a waitlist and pay attention hard when called. As an entertainment side story that is in no way regarding service here because guys nailed it well for how busy it was: We did have an "interaction" with another guest who was convinced we took her spot in line and were seated at "technically her table." While in reality they never even answered when were called (a person called them inside and came outside to call as well) and somebody else (a party of two) ended up being sat instead of them.
