Great addition to Suisun for lunch or dinner. Gyu donburi meat was tender and flavorful, would definitely recommend! Large mix sashimi had generous portions and a great variety! The staff was very friendly and attentive.
First off, the salmon carpaccio was tangy and fresh! All of the rows were also yummy and creamy. The udon had a little kick to it and the taste of the spice reminded me of Sriracha flavor.
I've been on a sushi kick so we've been hitting up all the new(er) sushi spots in town. Fish on Fire is a sister restaurant to Totto Ramen and Wasabi, so you'll notice some similarities between the apps and menu offerings. Our server, Geraldine, was amaaaazing! She's seriously the sweetest, and on top of everything from bringing the food out, refilling our drinks, checking if we needed anything without being super overbearing. It seemed like she was training some of the other servers too, so if that's the case, they're in good hands. Ika Geso - Their fried calamari has been consistently good between each of the sister restaurants. The batter is light and crispy, the squid is very tender. It's a must order for us, every time! We looove the spicy mayo it comes with for dipping. Chicken Karaage - This was good! I didn't like it much when I ordered it at Tottos, but I feel like it tasted better here and the portion was much larger. Served with kewpie and a sweet sauce, this is a good snacky item, or just something to switch off with if you're eating sushi. This isn't popcorn chicken batter by any means, but the batter wasn't too heavy and the chicken was juicy! I think the karaage would be even better with the spicy mayo, so ask for that if you would prefer a less sweet dipping sauce. Sacramento Roll - I originally was going to try the Mafia but Geraldine highly recommended the Sac roll. Similar elements but the Mafia has scallops. I went with her suggestion and it was delicious. Better than my second choice! Will definitely go back and try the Mafia next time, since it's almost the same flavor profile. Red Boy Roll - This was good but not great. It has a garlicky white sauce that isn't for me. I love garlic but I don't think I like a strong garlic flavor overpowering the rest of the flavors on my roll. It wasn't a bad roll by any means, and the rice to fish ratio was good. I just didn't love it, but if you love garlicky fish, this one might be your speed. Both rolls had spicy tuna, which usually isn't spicy for me, but I think one of the rolls may have been spicier than the other. Just FYI, from a spicy eating girl, there def was a kick that came from somewhere. Black garlic ramen - I normally love this dish at Tottos, so I recommended it to my BF to order. It ended up not being so great. The ramen broth wasn't as hot as we would like and the flavor tasted a bit off. Normally the garlic flavor is strong and the broth full bodied but the broth here didn't have the normal richness we would have liked. It was okay.. but wouldn't get this again here. Everyone is on the Wasabi hype right now, but for a less busy option, I would hit up FOF. The specialty rolls do differ between each restaurant though, so just keep that in mind. Parking lot is small but it's a low traffic area off Hwy 12, so you're not going to have an issue with parking. You can order by tablets on the table or with the waitress with real menus. Apple Pay, CC and cash all accepted!
Great option for casual dining. They have kiosks available at every table that you can order from but the staff also does a good job with checking in with you if you need anything. The chicken Kara-age was tasty as well as the Angry lion. The tonkatsu ramen was good and had plenty of toppings. I was a bit disappointed that for the ramen they ran out of all of the spice levels as I would've enjoyed mine spicy. Besides that I would recommend you try it and I will be back to try more menu items and hopefully get some added spice to my ramen.
Highly recommend giving this place prices are expected for quality fresh ingredients and great rolls and appetizers Sashimi was fresh and beautifully presented. The seared one was my favorite! Omg so good! Scallops Appetizers Fried Ube - crispy tempura batter and the soft textured purple yam. yummy on its own or with sauce Takoyaki - had a nice crispy outside and still gooey yum inside.. not many places can keep that crispness Hamachi tacos were good just small Chicken kara-age was good Sushi rolls Fish on fire and golden gate were both yummy. Tonkatsu Ramen - my husband loved the broth but wish the noodles were better. Great service. You can order thru the app screen at the table or directly with waitress. We did both and ordered more thru the app. The sake selection was good. Ambience was modern and relaxing lots of parking. New area by hotel.

Dang, I hate to dock points from my original review, but this time the food wasn't it. I ordered a black garlic ramen and ika geso to-go for lunch. Upon opening my bag, I was surprised to see that the food was sealed with a plastic film on top. Kind of like how some Korean restaurants in the bay do it. While it can be convienent for some dishes, it doesn't make sense to me doing this with ramen. The plastic film is difficult to take off. It's inconvienent for the broth...and can be a hazard if the broth is hot. Why not use regular take out soup containers/bowls instead? As expected (like mentioned in my previous review), the ramen was pretty disappointing. I wanted to try it, but I should have listened to my gut. It was like ramen from a boba shop. The broth was SUUUPER SALTY and poor quality in general. It had no depth to it and was just extremely oily. My lips had a really oily film after eating some. The toppings and ramen noodles itself were okay, but the broth is what makes the ramen. I couldn't finish it because it was so salty. I honestly only enjoyed the ika geso out of my meal. It was a little hard and chewy, but I enjoyed dipping it into the sauce. That being said, I got my order within 20 minutes like they said over the phone. I think I'll just stick to their sushi here next time.
I went here back in October for early dinner with my sisters before we embarked to Vallejo to see a play at a local theatre. The place is within the vicinity of an apartment complex, and it's also by Sisig Restaurant. The sushi was spectacular. I got the spicy tuna and Nemo rolls. I can't remember what my sisters got, but we had a blast eating here. It is much like Totto Ramen. The service is smooth-sailing. And the ambiance, it's not always packed, but I believe residents in the neighboring apartment complex stop by here, not that I live in the apartments, but this place is spectacular. For sure, I am coming back here for my sushi fix.

I'm a creature of habit but when I discover a gem...I've got to talk about it!! Their sushi is sooo good and so fresh. You can taste every bit of flavor in each bite. Sooo good! I had the fish on fire and absolutely delicious. We also had the blue fin fatty roll and if youre looking for indulgence...that is for you. Hubby had the black garlic ramen which he raved about the broth and falvor. How have I never came here sooner is baffling but this is why I love to share!!! Service is also wonderful. We were checked on several times, had our questions answered with a smile and you can even use the kiosk to order and checkout. We will be back!
Always a hit never a miss. Went here plenty of times for dinner and they never disappoint they kept everything consistent. I wish it was cheaper but I know that this is the average price for ramen and sushi. Also, love the vibes here it feels like I'm not in Suisun LOL. Highly recommend 10/10
It's a tiny spot right across the hwy from Walmart as you enter Fairfield ,attached to the new apartments & right next door to 1933 kitchen. We shared the toro roll and had some miso soup. Everything tasted fresh and the miso soup was really good. Our server was super nice and even though you have the option to order from your table on the device they provide, the waitstaff was still very attentive! We'd definitely stop here again next time we're in the area and craving sushi.
I tried Fish On Fire and the experience was very nice. The service was amazing with the servers being perfectly attentive. You can order from the tablet on the table or with a server. Water was filled without asking and the food came out fresh and hot. There was no wait although seating was almost at capacity on Mother's Day. Tried the signature Fish on Fire roll = delicious. The tempura was hot, crispy, & yummy! Hubby had the vegetarian udon & it was nice with a creamy sauce. Spicy edamame was perfect. Definitely worth trying this spot. Parking is plentiful.
This will probably end up being my new go to for sushi in the Solano area. The service was great, the place is new and clean. They have tablets on all the tables to order from or they will give an actual menu if you prefer. We ordered miso soup to start with and that tasted exactly like what miso should taste like. Not watered down but flavorful. Okay so let's talk about how fresh the fish was l. Omg we tried 2 of their top specialty rolls and both were delicious. The Bluefin fatty tuna was sooooo fresh and that fatty tuna just melts in your mouth. The Fish on fire roll was equally as fresh and tasty. The shrimp was cooked perfect adding that crunchy texture to the roll. My husband said we will be back next week lol and I agree.

We tried the fish on fire roll, the climax roll and the ika geso. Fish on fire - 7/10, the roll tasted great, very flavorful and hefty in size (they did not skimp out on bluefin tuna); however, the downside was that the fish was warm (in comparison to the fish in the other roll). climax roll - 7/10, the roll was good. very saucy and very hefty in size. salmon was chilled, was not room temp warm like the bluefin fatty tuna. ika geso - 8/10 - squid was crispy and battered lightly, paired nicely with the sauce. We were the only ones at the restaurant at the time, but staff were friendly and attentive. Checked on us a couple times to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side and had a modern, clean vibe to it. Overall, pretty good restaurant! read more

We were in the area and Googled a sushi place nearby. We live in Vallejo, which has very limited, GOOD food options. So this is what we have to typically do when we are in a nearby city. So glad we found this place. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The eatery was clean and organized. We just stopped in and grabbed a menu and ordered right there. We got home and the food was delicious. We'll definitely come back again when we're in the area. read more
This is a lovely, cozy, and easily accessible sushi spot right off of the main drag highway in Suisun! I've had the chance to visit 3×, once for takeout and twice for dine in, and they have been consistently delicious, prompt, and very friendly. They kindly accommodated my special request for an off menu hand roll styling versus the regular maki because I prefer to have less rice whenever possible these days (because carbs!) My go to barometer for most sushi places is the Chirashi bowl (mixed sashimi over rice), and spicy tuna maki. I always appreciate a nice variety of a chef's selection for the bowl as well as no mayo for spicy tuna mixes -- that just happens to be my personal preference -- and they have nailed it each time! Be sure to check them out whenever you're headed north on Highway 12 with a craving for fresh sushi and warm service for a reasonable price! read more
Great sushi spot in Suisun! Plenty of options to choose from but not too overwhelming. Ordered the tuna tartare, salmon donburi and the fatty tuna roll. Everything tasted fresh, but if I had to recommend one thing it'd for sure be the fatty toro roll. Melts in your mouth! They have tablets for you to order at your table but they have servers to help you order too. The service is quick and friendly. Would recommend visiting if you're in the area. read more

I've been here twice already and have enjoyed it each time. I really love their sashimi sampler that comes in a box with two pieces of different fish, so it's perfect to share with one other person. The fish tastes fresh and the price for it isn't that bad compared to other sushi places that offer a similar box. They have a wide variety of sushi rolls and other menu items. I believe they're owned by the same company as Totto, so they have similar items. I do wish that they had bento boxes though. The staff are friendly and attentive. They can take your order or you can opt for ordering on their tablet. read more

My friend recommended this restaurant, as it had opened recently. We found ourselves in the area and decided to try it. It was good. The server was really sweet. The only improvement needed was that the timing between our dishes didn't make sense. If at any point our server had let us know one item would take a long time, I wouldn't have said anything. So we ordered a 5 piece sashimi plate, California rolls, gyoza, and a Godzilla roll. For whatever reason, the Godzilla roll took a really long time and it was my husband's main dinner. He was super hungry and it came out significantly later than everything else. The restaurant is cute inside and was able to accommodate a large group of ladies that arrived just before us. I would only add that the weird thing is the tablets at the tables where you can place your own order. We would have done it, but the server came over and took our order. We tried this new restaurant that is by our house. We had to wait, but totally worth it. I ordered the black garlic ramen. We also had a few sushi rolls. One of them was the Fish on Fire Roll and the 707...all good. It is pricey. read more

Update : went in person this time. Waitstaff was very friendly. You order yourself from a tablet at the table just a heads up, but the waitstaff will walk around and make sure you have everything you need. The nice thing is they display some photos of the rolls on the tablet. They are quite busy and the restaurant is small so be mindful of that. We loved all of our rolls. Miso soup was also very good. Will definitely be back :) read more

My family got like ten rolls and their ramen, but I didn't take pics of most of it. The rolls were surprisingly very tasty for their price point. I was expecting very mediocre sushi, but it was a step above and I was quite pleased. The fish we had was really FRESH! I would DEF go back when I am in the area. read more

The food is the star of the show. Chicken Kara-age was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. Hamachi Tacos was our favorite. It is a unique entree that was delicious on every bite. The crunch from the taco shell elevated the marinated yellow tail. If you like spicy, try the Angry Lion which is a spicy version of a Lion King. The habanero masago fuels the heat. Service was attentive, as three servers attended to our table. You can place your order from the provided tablet, which has pics from most menu items. Ambiance was fresh and clean, as this is a new spot in Suisun. read more
Loving this new place. Me and my family came here to try out the new place in the neighborhood and we loved it. We were immediately greeted and seated and poured water. Introduced to their tablet to order and given menus. This place is such a vibe. The ambiance and decor is so beautiful. All the staff are so welcoming and so friendly. The food came out fast and cooked to perfection. Our waitress continuously checked in with us which was also great. We ordered the tonkotsu ramen, and the black garlic ramen. We will definitely come back here. So happy to have this place in our neighborhood. Oh and the sake is on point read more

This was our first visit. Our server Grace was very nice and attentive. She never let our water cups go empty and every time she checked up on us, she cleared our empty plates. Food was soo delicious! I want to come back already, just thinking about it. My favorite is the golden gate roll & salmon carpaccio! Also getting the black garlic ramen hit the spot. Soo good and I can't wait to be back again whenever I'm craving sushi & ramen. Their bathroom is awkwardly located right behind the cashier and it's only a one-person stall. Might be a long wait on a busy night haha. Other than that, I'd definitely recommend trying this place out! read more

Found a new local sushi favorite! Fresh flavorful fish rolls and appetizers with friendly staff who go above and beyond to male sure we were taken care of. They noticed we moved tour seat to avoid the sun in ours eyes apologized tried to fix it and when they couldn't gave us a delicious dessert to end our meal. Can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious menu read more

Comfortable and modern interior, including touchscreen ordering from the tables. Very friendly staff, service was very quick. The food was next level goodness, we got the mixed tempura to start. Both the wife and I agreed it was the best tempura batter that we'd ever had. Next came the shaggy dog roll, super nice sized and full of flavor. The highlight came next, the 15 piece sashimi. It arrived in a bowl on ice with an incredible thought out presentation including a beautiful purple flower. Each bite of the fresh, delicious fish was better than the last. Each becoming the best thing I've ever eaten. Can't wait to return and try more incredible menu items. read more
Fire on fish was everything that we expected after finding out that this new location is owned by the same owners as Toto sushi in Fairfield and blossom sushi in Vacaville. With their recent soft opening, we were pleased with the selection of rolls that included brand new rolls that the other locations did not have on their menu. We ordered the mango madness roll, red boy, and Sacramento roll. The mango madness was pleasantly surprisingly and the red boy was nicely spicy. The Sacramento roll was good too and we enjoyed every bite. The service was very friendly (and thanks to our waitress for suggesting these new rolls)! The vibe here is more modern compared to the other locations. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and will need to go back to try their other rolls. read more
Wowowowow! We came in on a Friday around 5:30pm. The restaurant has ten tables and a small bar area. We were seated right away and our server was very nice. We ordered the karaage, combo tempura, deep fried California roll and the hot night roll!!!! Karaage: nice pieces-hot and crisp!served with tonkatsu(?)and mayo. Tempura-light and crisp and served with a semi-sweet dipping sauce. Double YUM. The rolls were well prepared and huge. Stuffed with the goodies! Loved them both!! Will definitely keep this on our list of great places for sushi!! read more

Kevin and Alec were both really nice and super helpful!! I told them just pick off one of their favs in the menu and tbh it didn't disappoint. They recommended the Blue Fin Tuna Roll...so bomb n fresh..honestly one of the best rolls I've had in this area. Like you can tell the fish is high quality. The restaurant is also very clean and well kept. Definitely my favorite sushi spot in Suisun! Friendly staff, fresh food and clean place!!!! read more
I really enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. The place is a little small, so you might have to wait for a table during peak hours. The service was great. Nothing better than some fresh sushi! Ordered the tempura and dragon roll. The texture of the seaweed tasted a little tougher than I expected but either aside from that both rolls were extremely tasty! Spacious for the location, and clean bathroom! read more
A quaint little spot tucked away in a small shopping center. The inside was well decorated, few tables but comfortably spaced apart. The servers were quick, kind, and helpful had very good service. Unfortunately the food didn't hit the mark for me. Starting with the Miso Soup which was only half filled? I asked the server politely if that was the serving size and she said it was. For $2.50 and a pretty inexpensive soup to make I was pretty disappointed, not off a good start. I counted exactly 6 spoons of soup lol the Chicken Karaage was okay but could have use a bit more flavor, also was not that well fried unfortunately left it with a lighter white color rather than it's signature golden Krispy batter. Finally the Finding Nemo was tasty but for the prices of their rolls again just didn't hit the mark in terms of portion. Overall plan to give this place another try with different items, since it does have so much potential. read more
