Pretty nice pub, sort of justifies catching the bus from the city centre all the way down here just to have a beer. Actually, that beer garden's pretty awesome, and there are even some really nice craft beers on tap. Yep, this place gets a five - if only for not letting dripping sods wearing only togs in through the door.

Tracey and I were grabbing some shopping and just wanted a quick something. Having never noticed 22 Grams before (Tracey: "but I walk past here all the time!") the organic homely tables and golden flaky pastries on display beckoned us inside. With poetry written on the mauve walls and cushions and stools adorned the room, I ordered their soup of the day, a chicken, vege and barley soup, and their special bruschetta of smoked salmon with cream cheese, capers, lemon and dill. Both served with rye bread, the soup was a ready-to-eat temperature straight from the kitchen, light and easy to eat as expected from any broth based soup. The bruschetta was exactly is it should be: fresh and light and the bread soft enough to easily bite through but firm enough to hold everything on top. Tracey opted for a skinny latte and my two mouthfuls revealed a very smooth blend and milk of the perfect density. If I was heading to work where I can make myself one for free, I would have chosen to grab one as well. However, it was early, nowhere else was open, it had been a few years, so I thought I'd give them another chance (around the 43rd if you add up the amount of times over the last 10 years or so I've gone through the same inner dialogue) I ordered a coffee and a toasted sandwich. The coffee was predictably awful. It's like buying a coffee at the airport- I KNOW these things so why do I do them? My toasted sandwich however was aces. And to be fair given that the Cosmo IS so old school Italian maybe they do an alright coffee for other people but refuse to give a soy piccallo the love and attention it deserves.
