I wasn't feeling well that day, and was upstairs sleeping during the duration of her clean. It was my fault for not thoroughly inspecting what she did, but I tipped her almost half of the clean on the pure assumption that she DID do what I was looking for. It wasn't until much later in the day that I realized she didn't. I was happy to give her a chance, but I was upset bc I felt taken advantage of. I think she thought I was a sick, young homeowner who wouldn't know the difference. Unfortunately i was sick, but i was 37 at that time, and completely understood that it was a half hearted clean for $200 with a $75 tip.

I requested a free QUOTE from their website in 2024 as I was shopping around for a cleaning service for my mom. I ended up going with another service. This company called me a couple times right away and I didn't return the calls so you would think they wouldn't continue to reach out. WRONG. They called me so many times throughout the next YEAR that I ended up having to block their number. It is now 2026 and I just received a call from them today from a slightly different number! That's just crazy!!!

They quote you for "one man hour" (which is of no value) but don't give you ANY indication as to how many hours the job will take -- and therefore, no idea as to how much they will charge you -- until the job is done and your credit card is charged. Simply a HORRIBLE and extremely unclear way to do business. The total job cost me $266, to clean ONE floor of my house. IF I had known it would cost that much, I never would have hired this company. But I did NOT know it would cost that much until they charged my credit card. When I complained to the Better Business Bureau, the owner's daughter posted a nasty note on the FB page of my wife's employer. Seriously. The most pathetic and unprofessional thing I have ever seen a company do in response to a legitimate complaint. Stay away from this horrible company. Of note, I have since hired The Cleaning Authority. Their quote process is transparent (unlike House Calls), the cleaning job was just as good, and it was HALF the price.

Same experience as the customers below. This company has awful integrity and when approached with…read morea complaint, they berate and attack you. They have a very dishonest way of giving you a quote for cleaning, it was very unfair. It is by far the most shady cleaning company I have ever worked with in Cincinnati and I was even told by the owner that she would refund me for the miscommunication and dishonest quote, but never was refunded. The cleaning ladies that came did a terrible job at cleaning as well. There are plenty of other cleaning companies out there, BEWARE OF USING HOUSE CALLS LLC. I can't imagine the 100's of other people who have been scammed by this company who haven't posted on Yelp or other online review sites. They do not charge you till AFTER they are done cleaning. So you will have virtually zero idea of what you are going to be charged till they leave your house while they are taking their time doing a poor job of making it spic-an-span. It ended up being a horrible experience using them and had easily the worst experience talking to the owner/management. Like the other reviews explain, this is a completely dishonest company.

Finally the cleaners showed up ~2 hours late. When I finally got hold of the lady on phone she said they are here only for 2 hours max. Anything more than 2 hours is extra, any appliances are extra and even threatened me that the cleaners will leave immediately if I didn't agree. Nowhere before had they said anything about 2 hours or extra charges. I had no option because it was the last day of my lease. Finally I was charged ~320 which was worse than letting the apartment keep my deposit. The actual cleaning didn't Matter because I was threatened by the rude lady and my entire day wasted waiting for the cleaners. Use this company at your own risk. Ms rude lady on the phone needs to understand that you need to use basic courtesy while talking to customers. Edit - I called 2 times on the day before just to confirm the exact time and date of the appointment. I even got automated text message with scheduled date and time. In today's day and age, these scam businesses just manage online reviews to get innocent vulnerable customers.

I was quoted $207 for a 2-hour deep clean. I was told this would include windows, glassware, basic cleaning, walls, bottom boarders, ceiling fans, grout, and doors. In the quote process you must indicate the number of beds and baths in the home. We have 3 beds and 1.5 baths. 1. Only one ceiling fan was cleaned (we have 5 total). 2. None of the bedrooms or bathrooms were mopped. 3. The half bath was not touched. 4. The shower/tub in the main bath was not touched. 5. Only 1 bedroom was dusted. 6. No grout was cleaned. 7. No walls/doors were cleaned. 8. Only baseboards in the kitchen were touched. 9. Nothing was moved, just wiped around. 10. 1 window was cleaned, and 0 mirrors were touched. There were 2 cleaners, and this took them almost 4 hours. I am very disappointed to say the least. We have never trusted anyone to clean our home and I just feel taken advantage of at this point. I was not able to be home until they were leaving because I had to have my husband at the wound clinic. I scheduled the appointment because I needed it done, and my dad was here during the time. Now I am out $200+ and I still have to take the time to clean. I really was hoping to be able to leave a great review and use their services on at least a monthly basis moving forward.

***Hot Mops has not actually cleaned my house.***…read more I scheduled an appointment for a Saturday at 4:30. He called Friday night to see if I could move it earlier in the day. I couldn't and he seemed pissed. A little bit later, I got a text from him, canceling because he suddenly realized he was double booked. I thought that was awfully convenient. Against my instinct, I rescheduled with him for July 4 (I typically work M-F but was off for the holiday). The morning of, I had to cancel with him because I was not feeling well. I asked to reschedule it to a Saturday. He said that there was an upcharge for Saturdays. He never mentioned that before. I said no thanks and will not hire him or recommend him to anyone.

Terrible service! While preparing for a party I decided to give this place a try because despite…read morespending a good chunk of my own time cleaning already I knew I could use the help. Spent over $200 and the house was still a mess when they left. Shelves weren't dusted, they did not move anything around on the ground when they were sweeping, mopping or vacuuming, left behind a lot of debris. Keep in mind, I had already gone through the house and pre cleaned myself, baseboards and all. I was looking for somebody to come in and finish up the fine details because I would be short on time. Specifically asked them to vacuum the couches and when I booked the service they said absolutely, not a problem. After they left it was clear they had not touched them at all. I was on site during the first half of the cleaning but had to leave for the second half, and they assured me that they would finish the job well and that it would be fine. Having used other cleaning services in the past, I did not feel uncomfortable leaving the house while they were still here but what a mistake! I had to have them come back and finish the job because I got back 20 minutes before they were supposed to be finished, and they were already gone yet charge me full price! I looked around and realized all of the spots they had missed, including the couches. The service sent the cleaning crew back, but I was out of the residence again. I had left my good vacuum cleaner out since I had been using it a few days prior and after they left I realized they they must have used my vacuum because the release button was now broken. Having just used it a couple of days before, I knew that it was working fine until this cleaning crew had come out. They did not clean the tops of the tables, there were little cobwebs and dust up on ceiling vents that I had assumed they would vacuum as well or clean out. Even the mopping they did in the kitchen was atrocious. There was still food on the floor under the table from breakfast! Absolutely would not recommend this company whatsoever, I am appalled at how horrible this was. What a waste of money! I've tried other cleaning services in the past but wanted to try to go with a smaller local business, won't use them ever again. Back to the tried-and-true services that are further out!
