Family Breakfast Review Came to our neighborhood breakfast spot with the family and had such a great experience! We all ordered different entrees so we could try a little bit of everything from each other's plates, which is something we always enjoy doing when trying a new place. The farmhouse-style decor gave the restaurant a warm and welcoming feel, and everything was clean and well-kept. The service was fast, and our waitress did an amazing job checking in on us throughout our meal and making sure we had everything we needed. The Barbacoa Chilaquiles, one of their specialty entrees, were very flavorful without being overly spicy. They paired really well with the black beans and had a great overall taste. The croissant sandwich was also delicious, with a sweet and savory combination of maple, bacon, and a slightly salty flavor that went really well together. This place has such a lively atmosphere! We were greeted right at the door, and they even held it open for me and my party, which was a nice touch. The wait was super short no more than about five minutes. The food was good, and I tried their new seasonal drink and sandwich, which I really enjoyed. One of our orders did come out wrong, which is always a little inconvenient since we had to send it back and wait for a new plate. However, our hostess was incredibly nice with a great personality and answered all of our questions without hesitation, which definitely made up for it. We had brunch recently at First Watch on Sonterra Blvd. Starting with coffee for hubby and myself and hot chocolate for Dad. Hubby had the Breakfast Taco, Dad had the Classic Breakfast with 2 sunny side up, bacon, and potatoes, and I had the Ham and Gruyere Omelette. Everything was well made but we had too much food. Always a great experience when visiting this location. Customer service is always 12/10, food comes out quickly, and it always tastes amazing. Portions are pretty big for breakfast so I definitely suggest coming in with an appetite. I love how consistent this location is. I also like that you can pay at the front with a cashier or at your table by scanning the QR code on your receipt -- makes for a quick exit as the front of the restaurant can get busy with checkout, pick up orders, and those waiting to be seated. My wife and I took our 2 adult kids out to breakfast yesterday and found First Watch restaurant while looking for Egg and I (which is closed btw). Son and I had pancakes which were huge! Good thing I only got one. Couldn't even finish it. Mine was a little dry and needed lots of butter and syrup. He had blueberry pancakes which he said were good. Wife had a waffle which she described as good also. The best part of the meal was the "million dollar bacon" which I believe was on the appetizer menu. Very tasty and well worth the $8. We had 2 of them. Waitress was very attentive and quick and check out was a breeze, being done online. The place was clean and looked to be recently remodeled ( though the floor in the men's bathroom was a little slippery). My bf and myself love trying out different breakfast spots around north SA. We came across this place since it's down the street from us! I love looking at cleanliness, service, and if quality foods match the price. First things first, walking in, it looks very tidy, very well lit areas, tables are ready with mugs for some coffee. The waiter/waitresses we have had thus far have been prompt, very nice, and helpful. The menu: can be a bit overwhelming in a good way because there is a variety of food with so many different ingredients that they use! You can indulge or have yourself a nice healthy breakfast option. (Carrot cake pancake is a great treat-huge size for just one!) The food: the few things I've tried have been really good with all the different types of flavors it goes into it, I can really appreciate whoever came up with the meal. They usually have a seasonal menu as well, and that's what I love to try. The power of a review will show here.. so we have stopped at plenty of first watch restaurants, from AZ to Florida, and even in San Antonio, unfortunately this location disappointed us... so my sons have an intolerance to seed oils, and we have all as a family adhered to it being a seed oil allergy, we have kindly asked everywhere we've gone, if possible could our eggs be cooked in Real butter.. and at every location it has not been a problem, but here... not the case.. It was stated that they have it, but will not use it to cook.. so after sitting and ordering, we had to get up and leave, as they would not budge.. Sad.. as we had a long flight in the morning, my kids were super hungry, and the employees stood at the little back area, talking amongst themselves in a way that made us feel like an inconvenience! I have eaten at this location of First Watch a countless number of times and ~generally~ have had a good experience! Today, I decided to place a to-go order and have to say it was one of the better experiences! I ordered the Healthy Turkey Omelet w/o feta, an Inspired Italian Omelet and a Belgian Waffle. The Healthy Turkey Egg-white omelet was so incredibly fluffy and the onions were cooked perfectly! I thoroughly enjoyed this! Oddly enough, I have ordered "no feta" with this omelet every time I've been to First Watch and today was the first time this location actually got that correct- an exciting thing for me! As for the Inspired Italian omelet... it was great as well but not mine (just snagged a taste). The waffle was good but not great! It was a bit too soft and seemed soggy although it didn't have butter or syrup on it yet. Wouldn't order that again- may try the pancakes next time. I will keep going back as I love that the nutrition information is readily available, food tastes good and a larger group can all find something they want. read more

Five adults-two babies. Went on a Friday morning around 11. The wait time was 30 minutes so we walked over to merit coffee and sat for a while. We were seated at a nice big table. Waitress was nice but would take her time visiting our table. We didn't see her much, which was okay until we were ready to ask for a to-go box. After ordering, the food took about 45 minutes to come out, seemed a bit weird because our ordered were straightforward and really easy. Pancakes were multigrain so not my favorite but my wife like them. The potatoes on the traditional breakfast were pretty good but the eggs and the pork sausage were really good. The fried potatoes are deliciously crispy on the sides and soft in the middle. The Traditional plate was on-point. Over easy eggs were perfect. I added us to the waitlist when we left the house, so we only had about a 5-minute wait when we arrived. Our server was attentive, but we did have to track her down to ask for a few things. She was clearly busting her booty, but didn't do a good job of glancing our way to see if we needed anything. The kitchen service was gruelingly slow. I'd say we waited about 30 minutes for our food, which is a long time when it's just a couple there for breakfast. Not much to catch up on conversation wise. Since I've been in San Antonio, this location in Sonterra never misses. I thought I had reviewed them before but apparently I hadn't. Unfortunately, they missed today. Blame it on the eclipse. Blame it being busy. Blame it on poor quality control. I just know this pick up was a sad disappointment. Normally, the food is amazing and portions appropriate. This is not my first time having the Million Dollar Harvest Hash. I think it's pretty amazing. But this hot mess in sustainable packaging was sad. First, this looks like almost half the portion they normally provide. Trust me, the picture is what I received before I took one bite. The kale was barely there, most of the ingredients were barely there. The bacon was overcooked. It just wasn't giving what it gave the last two times I ate it. I'm giving them 4 stars in the strength of past experience. But if I had to rate it in this one alone I'd only give them 2 stars. So disappointing. read more

What a fabulous place to have breakfast ! I met four of my friends here, which was very clean. We each ordered our individual plates, but we wanted to try the pumpkin pancakes so we ordered two and split them between the five of us. We also had to try the million dollar bacon, four come to an order. We split these and they were very delicious, I totally recommend to try. We will be bring back to order the pancakes with our kids!
