Service was great and servingsizes were massive, but I have a few complaints. It might be because I'm a little country hic and not their geared rich stuck up audience but the food made me feel the dispare of the chickens and plagued the egg I ate. However according to the menus the chickens free range . It just doesn't taste like my own free range eggs. And didn't feel like the hometown diner ambiance the restaurant claims it goes for. Nice brunch place! Quick seating on a Saturday morning. Quick service and good food.

I recently came back to give this place another try. Honestly it did not go much better. We entered and we couldn't figure out if the person working the to go section was the host or if the girl organizing menus was the host. No one greeted us. The girl who was organizing menus was very concerned about seating us in the correct section. But again...no one said good morning or anything. Then who I assume is the host (girl organizing menus) sat us (3 adult, 1toddler and 1 infant in a car set). We got sat right next to the kitchen door. So we got to listen to all the staff clock in and all their conversations about their days. Since we got seated by the kitchen, I had to put my infant along in between two tables which is awkward but whatever. We then order. We ordered one farmhouse skillet, two eggs Benedict and a kids chocolate chip pancake. Oh and one extra pancake for the adults. The eggs Benedict was COVERED in lemon hollindase. Which was so disgusting and no where in the menu did it say it would have a lemon profile to the sauce. I would not have ordered it if that was the case. Then both pancakes were burnt. Overall I wish I could say my experience was a one off, but I apparently had a similar if not worse experience two years ago! Yikes. read more

Wow they completely remodeled this little cafe. Cool decor and more open and welcoming. The service was great. The atmosphere seemed to be a bit louder than before but it definitely is more accommodating for larger parties with the new seating layout. The menu is unique and trending. I would recommend trying it out. I ordered a Works omelette and the portion was large. The potatoes were good but could have been a bit warmer temperature wise. Hubby enjoyed the pancakes. Not, not, not good at all as far as service. Waited just a couple minutes for a hostess to seat us. It was busy but there also were plenty of open tables at 11:15 a.m. on a Monday. So we were pleased with the seating. That is until we got absolutely zero service for the next 10 minutes or so. No server greeted us though several walked past multiple times. No greeting, no water, no drinks, and no order at all. Then we counted three tables near us who were seated well after us and greeted and served before us. All the while we observed that not one server was smiling and all looked beat down. Poor management yet again. It is intolerable to be ignored! We recommend that First Watch be your last resort. read more

I had a feeling a change was coming when The Egg & I had their interior redone to a newer layout and decor, and when someone told me that the Egg & I was gone and a "first watch" was in it's location, I was surprised as the renovation hadn't been done that long ago. As it turned out that it was merely a name change on the outside, with an improved menu on the inside with the same great staff as before. We wanted to give them a try under the new moniker, and had a very good brunch! I started with my usual coffee, but added the Iced Chai Cider to the mix. It has Fuji apple, D'Anjou pear, Chai tea, and a cinnamon stick in a nice cold glass with ice. I can highly recommend trying it before it's out of season, as it is one of those 'winter comfort' drinks that warms you up. As a shared appetizer was the A.M. Superfoods Bowl consisting of Coconut milk chia seed pudding with fresh bananas, berries, blackberry preserves and housemade granola. Served with whole grain artisan toast topped with almond butter and Maldon sea salt. I only call it a mistake in that it was very filling on its own while shared between us, yet worth it. For the main courses, my significant other had the Tri-fecta: Two fresh cage-free eggs any style with the light and airy Belgian waffle and bacon. I ordered the Carnitas breakfast burrito: Pork carnitas, scrambled cage-free eggs, fresh seasoned potatoes, black beans, Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, and fresh avocado. Wrapped in a grilled whole wheat tortilla, covered with tomatillo hollandaise and topped with lime crema, pico de gallo, house-pickled onions, fresh cilantro and Cotija cheese. Overall it was a very filling and quite delicious new menu. I highly recommend giving them a shot! read more

My new favorite breakfast place ! Been to First watch a couple of times and have to say it's my new favorite. My server, Abe, was kind and attentive. I quickly got my food and coffee with little to no wait. Abe was a fun server with some banter and good vibes :) Food was delicious I definitely recommend the side of seasoned potatoes! The coffee is quite tasty also. There are a lot of options on their breakfast menu, I am lactose and gluten intolerant and was able to order food that wouldn't hurt my stomach later (hallelujah) which can be hard to find for breakfast. Highly recommend this cozy and friendly breakfast spot. read more

Went there on a busy Moms Weekend Sunday. Joined waitlist and only waited 20 min to get seated. Party of 6 and everyone loved their food. Food was delicious. There doing really well I gave 4 stars because it was a little cramped and a lot of people which isn't bad but if your claustrophobic it might be a bit uncomfortable but other than that it's great you get a lot of food and the food tastes amazing you also get quite a bit to. One of my favorite breakfast places of all time! Every dish I've ever had is amazing.

We visited on a Saturday, restaurant was not busy. Our server was nice, but she did mostly everything wrong. I believe a server also adds to the eating experience. I ordered a burrito and asked for No Chorizo and instead chicken. I don't eat pork ( religion) I got a burrito with Chorizo. I asked for eggs over-hard for my kids and got eggs sunny side up. My drink only arrived as I was leaving. Asked for my child water not to have Ice, it arrived with ice. I eat here and love the food. But Saturday experience was just awful. I couldn't eat my meal and had to take it to go. It took long to wait around with 4 kids. read more

Came here for brunch and I must say it's a great place for healthy choices! Very busy place with natural light and you will need to RSVP via an app which I wasn't too much of a fan. It forces you to Download an app which I wasn't too interested in. They need another way for diners to RSVP especially to attract older population that will like to dine without having to wait when they get there. They were fully packed, there was a 30 minute wait I wasnt expecting that but it was my first day there. We came as a group which the app doesn't allow to book for more than 6 people so you will have to call the restaurant to let them know the number. This Is another extra step that is unnecessary! The food was delicious. I had a breakfast bowl which was delicious! and I couldnt stop eating! Service was good, price was reasonable as well. It seems everyone goes there. This place is open to the public with a waterfront on the other side. There is private parking available. It is easy to miss if you don't follow the GPS well. People that sat down after us got their food before us and they blamed it on the chicken in the chimichanga and after 52 minutes of waiting came up to us and said there were 13 tickets in front of us. We don't go out to breakfast very often. When we go, we go to our favorite place, The Egg & I. Today when we arrived it was gone. It's now something called First Watch The Daytime Café. We decided to give it a try. After we placed our order the Server spent 10 minutes talking to her friend in the next booth. She was very loud and we could barely have a conversation. I ordered the breakfast tacos. Very bland and the black beans were cold. My wife ordered a plain waffle with bacon. The waffle came with cinnamon in it. The hickory bacon was terrible. They also charged $1.29 each for two small bottles of syrup. WTF We won't be back! read more

I tend to stick to the "Trifecta" - tasty Belgian waffle, eggs and protein of choice.
