Love, love, love First Watch! Our experience was phenomenal. I highly recommend using their online queue to reserve your spot on the waitlist because there is always a long line at the front door. (Not complaining, high quality comes with high demand!) Our service was phenomenal, but so was our food. I had the breakfast skillet and my fiancé had a classic breakfast. I will begin by saying the Sandlake First Watch location is very clean and staff are very friendly. Now, as far as the food is concerned, I'm afraid I can't be as generous with my observation. My daughter wanted to treat me for brunch so we went into First Watch around 12:30pm. We decided to split a savory dish and a sweet option. We ordered the Strawberry Tres Leches French Toast and the Turkey Sausage & Biscuits with a side of their Breakfast Potatoes and two Over Easy eggs. To our disappointment, the French Toast was NOT made with the Texas Toast or Brioche slices traditionally used for French Toast recipes. Instead we were served regular sliced bread which actually does not hold well when adding loads of toppings. It was tasty but one hot mess on the plate. The Biscuits & Turkey Sausage Gravy was absolutely awful. Not sure how to describe the taste, but maybe if you think how rosemary brunt in lard would taste, you will have an idea of how awful the taste was. The biscuit was hard and tasted stale, to say the least. Thinking the breakfast potatoes would be better we tried those out. The potatoes were just as bad, which leads me to believe some type of old & burnt oil was used for both menu items. I won't even bother to describe the over-easy eggs, let's just say I didn't touch them. The server was very nice, but ironically knew I was going to say the food tasted as if it were cooked in old oil or lard. This is a huge issue seeing my daughter & I don't eat pork. We were offered another option so we decided to try the Summer menu Lemon Blueberry Cornbread with a lemon butter scoop on the side. We took a bite and decided to take it home to see if it would be any better actually warmed! The take away from all of this, would have been nice if the Manager cared enough to come over and apologize for the awful food being served. Choosing First Watch ruined my daughter's outing with me. Searching for a breakfast spot, and you see that you can make reservations online? It must be a good thing right? Luckily, this is what happened to me As I finish my Orlando trip, my last day was spent eating breakfast before I spend a few hours at the airport and then a few hours flying home. I make reservations for this location. And make the short drive there. The parking lot was busy and there were about 30 people waiting outside. I thought to myself "well, luckily I have a few hours..." However, I checked in and waited outside. Luckily for me, since I made reservations/e-wait in line, my wait was not long This location inside was busy. The servers were friendly but you could tell they were there working hard. I ordered the classic biscuits and gravy since it is the best way to judge a location. My food was amazing! Decided to get some breakfast today so we dropped into our typical spot at First Watch in Dr.Phillips. It is usually busy in this quant open windowed location, but today was slower than usual. It is a very open seating arrangement and sometimes loud depending on how many people are there. We were seated quickly and it took a minute for the waitress to come over. When she arrived she seemed like she was busy and we ordered coffee, then browsed for the food. For food I chose from the tinier limited menu they have seasonally and got the Steak and Bacon burrito while my partner got pancakes which she wanted strawberry preserves for. When the food arrived they forgot the preserves and the waitress never came back so we had to ask the kitchen staff for some. My burrito though was perfect and beautiful as you can see pictured. It was delicious with ranchero sauce, hollandaise sauce, purple onions, and avocado on top. Inside you had scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, cheese, bacon, and steak. All was cooked perfectly and the flavor combination was delicious. I believe today's service was an off day, but the food is always good! read more

This place offers fresh cooked cinnamon buns.We went there when they opened and were served within 10 minutes of sitting down and the bun was rock hard I asked if they made them fresh in the morning and he said no. They had no food set up before opening it's the weirdest thing I've ever heard in my life. Personally I'm pretty pissed off they claim they have fresh food but they don't make it fresh daily. They do not make their cinnamon buns fresh daily as advertised so be careful. Fresh is better....not yesterday's food at today's pricing. The restaurant itself was clean and I loved the decor and minor details that they highlighted which only added to the experience. I'm definitely giving this place a solid 5 starts. This was my first time at First Watch and it did not disappoint! Their concept is very similar to Keke's and it is just as good. This specific location is in Dr. Phillips @Plaza Venezia, it it was a good 20 minute drive for me. The staff was GREAT. Our server was very attentive and customer driven, always checking on us every few minutes. I had the Shrimp and Grits and it was fantastic. Perfect ration of savory sausage and delicious grilled shrimp over cheese grits...I will definitely have this again (soon), since its only a seasonal menu item. My Son had the chorizo sunrise sandwich and said it was excellent. Overall, it was a great meal experience and will definitely come back. I was impressed by the photos of this spot but was disappointed when I went in person and all the omelets were browned. The photos the business owner posted are NOT accurate to what you actually get. I'm particular about my eggs and was sorely disappointed when my eggs came out crispy. I am not a fan of diner omelets and this was a diner omelet. I guess it's hard to slow cook eggs with high volume. I asked for a recook and it came out much better but I could still tell it was cooked at a very high heat. I tried the bacado which was pretty good. The avocado was a little browned but I enjoyed the omelet as a whole. I also tried the steel cut oats. I was a little disappointed that the "berries" were just strawberries. I was hoping for raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries, too. I saw a fruit salad that had more berries than the oatmeal. Food was ok however we sat and had a line of ants on the bench all around us. Also along the wall and they even keep seating people in that area and didn't bother to clean it. They said it's due to the sugar packets of the coffee. We asked to move which was accommodating. I was surprised that our check had no discount no manager to apologize at our table. It just seemed business as usual. Health code violation for sure. Just felt something else could have been done not just for us but for future guest coming in. Came here with a friend for lunch around 11am and place was pretty packed. As I was looking at the menu and my eyes just went straight to the lunch deal they had for a soup and sandwich. I had asked the waitress what was in one of the sandwich. She told me it's whatever was on the regular menu above and pointed at it (which I didn't see). She said it in a rude way and my experience with that didn't settle so well. Also, we were still eating while she placed our bill in the middle of the table. Service could have been a bit better. We had never tried the Million $ Bacon - they had it on their seasonal menu, which is on the regular menu and didn't notice till after - OH, the trickery! Anywhoooo, if you like bacon, try it! Got the market hash, which is a ton of calories, and the power bowl, which is much less calories. Both breakfast were hot when they arrived. They included silverware. The side of turkey sausage was good too. My only complaint is they did not include any butter with the toast. Hot sauce would've made everything better. Maybe that's something they can add to their menu. However, as soon as I tasted the bitterness, I automatically assumed that they freshly squeezed their oranges, which I was right. It was kind of weird to me that we got sat in the far back corner away from everybody else but it is what it is maybe that's how they do their seating, the service was a bit slow for us as well it took a while for us to get checked on but the server was okay. I didn't feel that hospitality and that I usually get when I go anywhere. So all in all the food is really good, service is mediocre, atmosphere is amazing and I don't suggest getting mimosas from here. However they're Sangria's are definitely delicious. read more

We have been coming to this first watch for many years. I'm not sure why I had an average rating, it's definitely exceptional here. Food quality is great and like other first watch locations, it does get quite busy especially on the weekends. The location has definitely lost its ability to perform well, after Stacy left - the kitchen gets backed frequently so don't expect food to come in a timely manner, even when it is not busy. **This review is based on 2 delivery experiences and one take out experience.** Let's start with the great! Both times we've decided on First Watch, the food has been impeccable! Fresh, great healthy options (not your boring healthy--versus typical all greens/no meats), and flavor to remember! The service we experienced at the door for pickup was quick and hospitable, so nothing negative to note there. What hasn't been the greatest is the delivery experience. The first delivery time was great and quick. The second one, this past week--the time stated online was 30-40mins, reasonable. I check out, pay, and then on the "expected delivery time" it turned immediately to 90-120mins--didn't arrive until and hour and fifteen mins later. That is unacceptable especially when you can't take back a delivery order without being charged for it. Make sure to update your expected times, so you don't lose business. I don't plan on returning any time soon--deliver, take out, or in house honestly. The restaurant didn't even attempt reaching out for the delay and not one apology. We chose to sit outside and the weather was amazing, the patio had hanging lights and was so cute for brunch with friends. We got sat almost immediately even on a Sunday with the church rush. Fun local breakfast spot over in Dr. Phillips restaurant row area. Went on a weekend sand despite the place being packed, we were sat very quickly. Don't turn away just because you see a crowd at the door, they move fast! Breakfast options were plentiful and not just your typical breakfast fare. My Chikichanga was delicious and was large enough to share. My husbands Farmhouse Hash was also enjoyed and we loved how everything tasted and looked super fresh (I mean look at that avocado!). One star off for the sheer volume in this place. It was loud and chaotic and the booth we sat in had crayon scribbles on the table and wall. Disappointed, this was our go-to place to dine in for breakfast when in town, now I don't think we'll bother. This is our second bad dining experience at a First Watch this year. Our server was very slow, I don't think it's because she was weeded but just a bad server unfortunately. I waited over 15 minutes for water, I didn't even have a drink in front of me - first priority is too make sure all the guests on the table have a drink in front of them. Her initial greet wasn't for over 5 minutes. When our food came out, the order was incomplete - the kitchen were still cooking the bacon - but how does a breakfast place run out of bacon!!! My eating companion had finished their breakfast before the bacon even came out! They had to send their poached eggs back as well as they were over cooked and they took over 10 minutes to come out. When ordering a traditional breakfast, the bacon and eggs are the main components and they couldn't get them right! While we were eating our breakfasts she was eating toast and potatoes!!! I always get the Chickichanga, it was ok, the flour tortilla was a little over cooked and not a flavoursome as I remember. The other member of our group had biscuits and gravy which was alright but where was the chunks of sausage in the gravy!! He also got bacon on the side which I don't get why they didn't put on the traditional breakfast and make him wait for just his side! But the bacon was way over cooked and just burnt crisps. We had to complain to our server as we weren't happy, the amount of time to recook our bacon and eggs, it should take 5 mins or so! The manager did come out to talk to us but took around 5-10 mins, she should be on the floor checking in with guests. She did apologise and provide us with some gift cards we used to pay for the poor breakfast but unfortunately that's it for me and First Watch, I won't be spending my money their anymore. My husband was not thrilled with the one back.home, but I convinced him to try this as we were limited on time and it was only a couple of miles from the hotel. Service is impeccable. Everyone was super professional and friendly and did a wonderful job providing a great experience. For my meal, I got their kale juice which was really amazing and also I created like a vegan skillet off of veggie items I saw on their menu and their potatoes. It was really good and the presentation was lovely. They do have gluten free toast available and some other gluten free items as subs. I don't really eat a lot of carbs so this was not my thing but it's on there for folks that need or want it. Masks are required to enter. And they do have tables spaced out still. read more
