I didn't realize that there was a First Watch right near my appointment in Green Hills. I had a lovely breakfast cos it's a First Watch and there's no way anyone can have a bad experience there. I tried a new menu item the Carne Asada which would have been great if it hadn't been so extremely salty that I couldn't eat but 2 bites of it. Whenever I'm at a First Watch, the 2 drinks I absolutely love are the Cereal Toast and the Lavender Pea Flower and I probably shouldn't have had a drink before my appointment but they're not too strong so I didn't feel too guilty. First of all, the warm attitude of the entire staff was so fresh and appreciated. I had breakfast during the ice storm when power was out for so many people, however the staff was so upbeat and that added so much to my day. My server helped me find what I wanted on the menu as the basic breakfast was hidden in the upper right hand corner of the menu. The food and presentation were both top notch. Food is tasty and always prepared to order and fresh. My personal fave is the chicken avocado chop salad! But the salad with pecans is super awesome as well. My boss raves on the power bowl with pesto. Location is okay, not my fave, but convenient for my work needs for now. I eat here quite regularly, almost weekly, because I work nearby. I usually sit at the bar. The food is good, but the service has definitely been sliding week after week lately. Earlier this week, I sat for 15 minutes at the bar before anyone came out. Thenwhen I went to pay, same thing standing at the register with no one around. Today, I was at the bar 15 minutes before anyone came out. Took another 15-20 minutes to get my order (a salad) The entire time I was at the bar, I was the only person at the bar, and none of the other dishes that were there when I sat down ever got cleared. Friends favorite breakfast place so I had a bit of time and decided to try it. For her, it is five star all the way. I am not sure I am fully on board. I had the avocado toast and the million dollar bacon, because who doesn't want as million dollar meal. The toast was good and I love avocado, but it is pretty much just avocado smashed on bread with a lemon (I have had some with cilantro and propellants with the egg on top. Yum. The eggs were as little overdone for that style. The million dollar bacon is interesting, but I thought it would be a bit more than just sticking over (I do bacon soaked in syrup that is awesome). Coffee is a nice blend, which was a definite plus. And the pancake options sounded great, making me wonder if I would say better than average of I had them (was in a savory mood). Service was good and the place is open and clean, which is a good thing. The price point is a little higher than some ($20 for avocado toast, eggs, bacon and coffee), but not too far out of range (unless you consider wakey house a proper option), but the breakfast was not as "special" as others in this price range. It was good, but didn't knock my socks off. Would I try again? Yes, especially if I was with my friend who loves it. I had terrible service at the bar on Saturday. Dirty dishes were everywhere at the bar and no one attempted to clean up anything. I sat for 8 min before being greeted. I think they may have been trying to get the place closed down for ? It was about 115pm The bartender took my order and absolutely deserted me. I ordered coffee and food but the coffee never came. I had to flag down a server to get some old coffee- it was evidently left over from another table. Yuk The food was disappointing and no one ever came to check on me. She was in the back and never gave me a second thought. The food was overcooked AND yet cold, if I could have found someone I would have asked for ... something? My friend and I visited a friend in Nashville. They took us to this cute breakfast place before we headed back home. We went on a Saturday morning, there was a wait of course but the help yourself coffee station was a huge win for me. We didn't wait too long before being seated. We had the BEST waiter Hughes.
