I was very shocked by the inside ambiance -- I did not expect it to feel as elevated as it does based on the branding and positioning as a chicken and pizza spot. Sat at the bar to avoid a wait on a Sunday evening. Easy and relatively quick service. I enjoyed my spicy pasta (which indeed was spicy) and I had some bites of my boyfriend's dish. The chicken was super good, I really liked the breading. We also had a salad not pictured which was good and light. Prices are pretty high especially when I think about the brand look and feel but they have a happy hour so I'd go back during that. read more

It's been a hot minute since I've been to this Doughbird location, but it was just as tasty as I remembered! I made a last minute reservation on OpenTable for a Thursday night dinner with my husband, but it turns out we didn't need the reservation at all! The restaurant was busy but not packed, and we were seated at a nice booth table in the corner. Our server was friendly and offered solid recommendations, specifically ordering a side of the Umami sauce for dipping. We shared the Mediterranean salad as an appetizer, which was tangy and full of fun toppings. For an entree, I ordered the chicken tenders, which come with sides of fries and coleslaw. I also wanted to try all of their dipping sauces (it's just $1 per sauce), so we tacked those on as well. My husband ordered the Detroit style Hawaiian pizza, which is not his go-to pizza order, but he loved it! My chicken tenders were good but not great ... although that wouldn't stop me from ordering them again. The bill wasn't bad at all either, especially considering you're right near the mall AND they have a free parking garage right behind the restaurant. The food was really good. We all tried different pizzas. The dough is fresh and ingredients baked perfectly. The only reason I gave it a 4 is service was slow. It took over 20 mins since we sat down to get our drinks. Food took about 40 Mins to arrive. read more

Excellent service. Pizza crust is a 9 out of 10. That's kind of where things stopped for me. Order the "dry rubbed" wings. They had absolutely zero seasoning/flavor. Second was the barbecue chicken pizza. I had pretty solid Hope, but something was off. I'm not sure if there was some sort of ranch or blue cheese dressing under the toppings, but it had a bit of a sour smell and flavor to it. I only had two pieces and left the rest. Met my wife here a while back for a date night out since we had a break from the action of work and my son was hanging out at his friend's house. We decided to hit Green Hills area since she works close by there. Here was our experience in a nutshell... Ambiance: Great corner location and dedicated parking in a covered garage with No charge (which is HUGE here). Restaurant is slightly more upscale than the rest and was clean. Service: I arrived early and asked about old fashions - to which I was told that during happy hour they were two for one...I asked what bourbon they used and she told me that it was jim beam so I asked if there was another choice l. She kindly replied that yes they had a house rye but it was a $3 up charge. I kindly accepted to get away from JB and sipped the nice flavor and taste the the rye had. and then ordered another after my bride showed up and ordered a wine and her pizza. Food: Food was average and honestly the portions we ran all considering the price...but hey it is Green Hills so there's that. Price: Heavy for a pizza and chicken place...additionally when the bill was brought out she charged 2 old fashioneds and the up charge making it a $17 Old Fashioned and didn't give me the 2-1 happy hour special - but didn't tell me when i asked about the up charge if that voided the deal..she just assumed i didn't care....not the greatest way to honor your advertising nor the customer in this regard. Summary: Skip the entrees maybe and opt for an appetizer and maybe a cocktail if you can go during happy Hour - otherwise I'd probably see myself at a more upfront establishment for the evening. Found this place when I was searching for somewhere close to cheekwood mansion and I am so glad we came. There is a parking garage right next to the restaurant so parking was a breeze. Ambiance and atmosphere were great! Truffle cheese bread and crispy brussel sprouts were yummy but my absolute favorite was their steak frites. I asked for medium rare and it was cooked to perfection; flavorful and buttery. I would say it's definitely one of the best steak frites I've ever had. I also ordered black truffle orzo as a side. If you are a truffle fan, you have to try it! It was absolutely delicious! Their seasonal sangria was refreshing. I wish I was able to try their warm butterscotch cake as it sounded so good. Doughbird is a fantastic addition to the Green Hills dining scene adding a solid menu of pizzas, sandwiches, salads and course rotisserie chicken dishes! In addition to the tasty food, the interior has great vibes with lots of wood and industrial/art chic fixtures, leather seating, a beautiful bar and lots of perfectly planted and manicured greenery. Now, down to why we flew in to Doughbird, pun intended...we came for the dough, not the bird this time. A regular Spicy Hawaiian and Detroit Style Sausage and Mushroom were the choices and neither disappointed. Both were delicious, but the Detroit-style took it home, at least for me. Perfectly crispy edges, gooey cheese, and hearty toppings without being too dense and overwhelming. The Spicy Hawaiian had a great balance of sweet and heat, with just enough kick to make you raise an eyebrow. Pricing for the pies is a bit high for the size, but I chalked it up to the fresh and well mapped out toppings and cheese...at least that is what I tell myself. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails. The Bourbon and Bells was it! I had the summer sangria was great, looking forward to additional seasonal drinks as well. If you're familiar with this area, you know parking can be a pain, so the attached garage is definitely a plus. Service was friendly, though a bit slower than expected. We visited during off-peak hours and still had a wait, which was a little surprising. Overall, we really enjoyed Doughbird and are glad to have a location here in Nashville. We had formerly dined at Doughbird on several occasions and been mostly satisfied, but I do not think we will be going back. I had a hamburger, ordered with extra pickles, which engendered a dollar charge that I was not apprised of until I saw the check. Funny thing, when I ordered extra pickles on a $24 prime rib sandwich instead of a $10 happy hour burger, there was no dollar charge. Also, Mom and I ended up sick as dogs after her pot pie and the couple of appetizers that comprised the meal before the butterscotch dessert. I don't think I'd risk Doughbird ever again. read more

This is located at a nice, upscale outdoor mall. It's right next to Anthropologie. The restaurant is across the street from the cafe where Taylor Swift used to play as a teen. Doughbird is quite popular, especially for large groups. It took a while for us to get our menus, as well as to get our food. The fried chicken I got had the perfect crunch and not oily or heavy. I felt the service was a bit slow, even though we went for an early dinner around 5pm. The waitress only came by once to refill our water. The high ceilings, hardwood floors, large windows and wood chairs made the acoustics horrible. It was very hard to hear the conversation from the person sitting 2 chairs away from me. We were a party of 5 so it wasn't a big table. I probably would go back but wouldn't be my go-to place. read more

Tried out Doughbird on a Friday night. Had reservations and to be fair it was busy. We were seated fairly quickly. After that things seemed to move at a sluggish state. From the drinks, order placement, food, and payment everything seemed to move slowly. At one point the manager did tell us "everyone ordered pizzas and we are behind"... which is odd because its advertised as a pizza place. With that said the food wasn't bad. Had a pepperoni and sausage pizza. Toppings were tasty, crust was a nice surprise and the sauce was rich which I liked. Although the food at Doughbird hasn't fully changed, their menu and the availability of some great items has! In addition to this, the portions have shrunk. Our side of broccolini was literally one piece cut into 4. Doughbirds food is good but not great and unfortunately the other aspects don't make up for it. The service was a little slow & restrooms were a little dirty. This restaurant used to feel really intentional and was a favorite spot to bring guests too - now I'm not sure I'd return personally. read more

I haven't been to this restaurant since 2012 when it was a CPK and I got food poisoning . I barely recognized the inside, it got a beautiful facelift! Very cool interior. The menu here is chefs kiss, so many amazing options. My pepperoni pizza (add arugula) was REALLY good. In fact, better than I expected based on the look. However, the service was really bad and that seems to be consist for them from talking to others and reading reviews. We waited 30 minutes to order and one hour for our food. What was even worse was the people at the table next to us sat down well after we ordered and had already eaten their appetizer and half their pizza before our food arrived. At some point, someone did come and apologize but she simply said they didn't forget our order... well I'm positive they did. My friends ordered a Caesar and Brussels sprouts and the waitress asked if they wanted that as an appetizer and they said yes. They waited one hour for a Caesar salad. I'm sorry, no backups in the kitchen can account for that. That's just unacceptable. I thought surely with such an egregious wait they would give us a dessert or a discount, but nope. Just a passing recognition that it had been a while. Our reservations were at 6:30 and our food came right before 8. It's so unfortunate because the food was really great and I want to try more on the menu, but their service needs to pull it together before I consider returning. read more

They have the cheesiest Mozzarella Sticks I've ever had. I will definitely go back as I want to try their Detroit style pizza. Moderate noise level and a touch above Moderately priced. We did try a few of the thin crust pizzas as well but didn't find them to be anything exceptional... so my recommendation is to choose the Detroit style crust! That takes it up a full notch!
