A few minutes later we ordered the pumpkin pancake breakfast. We both substituted the meat option and chose the fried potatoes instead. We just celebrated our wedding and headed to this location for a large brunch with our wedding party. They were able to accommodate us quickly with minimal wait. The booth and table combo worked great! The menu had something for everyone, and the ability to cater to special diets such as gluten free and vegetarian. The bathrooms are tight and if you had a wheelchair some of the tight turns could be difficult to navigate. But for a delicious mix of sweet and savory and tons of flavor they have you covered!! read more

So this place can be very hit and miss. Today was a miss. Order a sweet tea and a waffle with no powder sugar and a side of bacon. Well, drank the tea and waitress never refilled even when I asked for a refill. Then waffle and bacon comes. Waffle has powder sugar all over it the bacon is missing one slice. I really want to like this place as I love Belgium waffles but the continued mistakes make it hard to come here. Will need to look at Big Bad Breakfast restaurants as they have waffles too. Im so glad they opened a location here! They used to only have the one on Hurstbourne for the longest time. They took over the building that used to be O'Charley's (RIP). But they share with La Rosa's as well. When we came in, it was busy but there were a number of tables open inside and outside. We had placed our names on a waitlist online and got seated right away. I started off with drip coffee since I wanted caffeine while my sister got the morning meditation which was orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beet juice. My mom got a special that was a dragonfruit juice. Not sure the name. But they both really liked the drinks! Refreshing! For food, I got the Trifecta, I chose the waffle and chicken sausage, then replaced the eggs with just egg whites. My mom got the pumpkin pancake breakfast. So good! My sister got the million dollar breakfast sandwich. She thought it was good but messy to eat. My dad got the healthy turkey, which was an egg white omelette with veg. He enjoyed it! We all really loved the food! I find that first watch is kind of hit or miss. Sometimes it's a solid 4 stars and other times it's 5 depending on what you order. Service is always quick here. We got our drinks quickly and didn't wait long for the food. Our server was nice and kept checking on us. The interior is very modern. Pretty much like other First Watches, but this one had less decor and wasn't as rustic. Only a couple wooden frames were hung up. Parking wasn't bad. Michael was THEE BEST SERVER I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED DINING OUT!!!! It started as a simple brunch date with my mom, and it turned into an enjoyable, satisfying, FUNNY, and blessed encounter. The food could have been gross and I would have come back just to be served by Micheal. He was very attentive, accommodated our every need, sometimes even before we could mention it. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed the new B.E.C sandwhich, and although I didnt care for the field greens, Michael gladly substituted it for cheesy grits. The lavender french toast was very flavorful and a new addition to the menu. One comment that he made stuck with me after my mom had mentioned she was "good", he said but it's not great, let me make it great, and he did just that. TOP NOTCH SERVICE. I took my family here a couple days after Christmas and we were a little worried based on how full the parking lot was since we needed to get to the airport in a couple hours. But they got us in and out in 45 minutes! The million dollar bacon is my favorite thing on the menu, paired with a Belgian waffle it's the perfect breakfast. All of our food came out so fast. The potatoes are fried in a skillet not a deep frier, locking in a potato flavor and a nice crunch, for the love of G_d don't change that. The bread is excellent made just for First Watch thick sliced, great for catching all the egg yoke with real butter or fresh made jams ,(strawberry or triple berry or apple butter ) , all of it lick the plate clean worthy. This is a great and casual location and space, it has a great patio and plenty of parking. We came here after going for a walk and got seated pretty quickly even though there was a 15 min wait. We sat on the patio and received our menus. We waited 30 mins and was passed by several servers without an acknowledgment to the table or even someone coming to take our drinks. I understand a lot of places are short staffed, but I would think you would be able to acknowledge a table. Only reason this place gets 2 stars instead of one is cause first watch always has good food. But the service here is atrocious. I don't know if it is because this place is relatively new and all the service staff is new but they should've been trained elsewhere prior to opening up. We sat at our table for 20 minutes with no wait staff checking in us even though we had like 5 different waiters/waitresses walk past us multiple times. We finally had to ask one of them to have someone come wait on us. Even after asking our waitress still only came to check on us to take our order and bring or drinks we were not checked on again until our food came out. Even then it was 54 minutes before our food came out. That's 34 minutes without anyone checking on us in case anyone was wondering. Their silverware was dirty as well. If you're going to eat at first watch I recommend any of the other locations around Louisville except for the spring hurst one. Such a disappointment too since we were so excited to have a first watch so close to home. read more
