My husband and I came in for lunch earlier this week and I need to brag on our server, Dahlia. My husband has a wheat allergy so he orders from the gluten-free options. If you know gluten-free bread, you know that it is very hard to find a good loaf of GF bread, especially when you are out to eat. He really wanted a sandwich though so he thought to give it a try! The sandwich and bread was so good that he had to ask Dahlia to double check that it was in fact, gluten-free bread! She confirmed that it was, and as we raved about it, she took it upon herself to go back into the kitchen and find out where the bread came from. On top of that, she went to the manager and asked if we could purchase a loaf of the GF bread, like you can for their regular bread loaves. My husband was so thankful. She did all of this without being asked and it was so appreciated. Per usual, our meals were great and the restaurant was beautiful, but Dahlia's service took it to the next level read more

Great experience. The roast beef sandwhich was a little salty and the sun-dried tomato's were too overbearing on the sandwich so took them off. My mother got that sandwhich. My breakfast with the pumpkin pancake was great. The pancake was a little dry and could have used some syrup but was very busy so couldn't catch the waitress in time. No worries. This would have been 5 stars were it not for the "hostess". No greeting, tons of attitude. We evidently interrupted her texting. Sat us right on top of another couple. Absolutely no people skills at all. As I was paying the bill, her only comment was did I want the receipt. I see several others have mentioned this issue. So happy that we have a First Watch in Harrisonburg! The restaurant is bigger than most I've been too. Decorated lovely. The food and service have been excellent. I've been there 4 times already since it opened. The food is fresh and tasty. I had the trifecta every time and the waffle was perfect. Crispy but not not too sweet. Just right. Today I ate breakfast at First Watch. I ordered scrambled eggs, a fluffy biscuit with turkey sausage gravy and home fries, water and coffee. I'd like to say the food was alright except I didn't see any turkey or sausage in the gravy. The lady who waited on us was nice and attentive. She came around severl times to make sure everything was OK and asked us if we needed anything. My wife ordered french toast and a cup coffee. When we got the bill I noticed the coffee was FOUR DOLLARS A CUP. The most I've ever paid for a cup of coffee. What makes this so bad is I remember when coffee was 10 cents a cup. My wife and I had breakfast here a couple of weeks ago and everything was great. The service was prompt, and my eggs Benedict was perfect. I went here Friday with my son, and even though the place was not busy, it took much longer than it should to get our coffee. My biscuits and gravy, eggs, and home fries were not great, but adequate. My son ordered eggs Benedict, and his eggs were almost hard boiled. If a place can't make eggs Benedict, they need to take them off the menu. read more

Mother's day Sunday.. totally understand it was going to be a long wait and super busy. Checked in and was told 1 & 1/2 hours to 2 & 1/2 hours..... HUGE range but i understand you can't guarantee how fast a table will take to open up. After about 1 & 1/2 hours of waiting we asked the host where we were in line, just out of curiosity, the host passive aggressively told us we'd been waiting for 89 minutes and couldn't tell us where we were at on the list... I knew we had been waiting for a while so the passive aggressive specifics really weren't necessary. But whatever we get sat, waitress comes very quickly, we ordered right away... drinks & food came out quick, quality was mid but for about $12.50 a plate, can't complain. What i will complain about is a $9 mimosa that you have to pour your self and it's BAREFOOT brand..... like c'mon.... that's gas station wine. After food was delivered, server never checked back on us, had to grab syrup from another table for our pancakes. Server returns with a child on her hip and another kid by her side and tells us we can pay up front. Was it bring your kid to work day for mother's day? just overall odd.. this place would be better off putting a kiosk on the table and let me tip the person that delivered our food and the guy who was gonna clean our table. Shortly after returning home, instantly got sick from the brunch tacos. maybe they just didn't agree with me? but Honestly won't be returning, spend your money at a local brunch spot downtown for better service and higher quality food. read more

I can't speak about the food since my wife and I never got served. We didn't even get a cup of coffee. We went there around 8:30 on a Tuesday morning. the place wasn't busy at all so we were seated right away. after being seated one employee passed our table and told us good morning. That was the extent of our experience with the staff. We waited 20 minutes and never got a server. Then we saw customers who arrived after us getting served their food. we got up and walked out. My wife tried to phone them 4 or 5 times from the parking lot to register a complaint but the connection to speak to the staff only gave a busy signal. We won't be going back. This place really feeds into the "Just two guys and a dream" millennial stereotype, especially with the "shareables" portion of the menu. Everything this place has, I guarantee you could make yourself for half the price. The only times my food tasted good was when I could taste the sliver of avocado they put on my sandwich. The service was so slow it took ten minutes for the waitress to give us our boxes. All of the food was so bland I would've rather taken whatever crumbs were left on the floor at ihop. This place made eating feel like a chore and every bite I took only made me regret waiting 15 minutes for brunch. This entire restaurant felt like a scene taken straight out of the movie, "The Menu". I would've said the only redeemable quality was the atmosphere, but that was before I saw that the bill for four people was more than $80. The only reason I could see this place being worth it is if you're catching up with friends or have family in town but if you're genuinely HUNGRY, take 30 extra steps and go to Panera. read more

Went in to order a purple haze drink asked how long it would take (I had somewhere to be ) and if it would be a long wait was told it would be two minutes ended up waiting over 10 minutes and then I was told they are out of the drink so then I had to wait even longer to be refunded back my money. Why wasn't I told they were out of the drink in the first place? Why didn't the girl who told me it would only be two minutes go and find out what's taking so long it's a drink. Our visit started on a very sour note. After a 30 minute wait we asked the hostess for an ETA. We had received our text back but they did Not have our name. we were told 20 minutes more. They had lots of empty tables but were waiting for the kitchen to catch up. The front was a total disaster as three employees discussed the situation. We were finally seated after we told her we would wait for food just PLEASE let us drink coffee at a table while we waited. Once seated we were pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of our meal and the excellent service we received from our waitress. My coffee was delicious and my salmon eggs Benedict was superb. Unfortunately their inability to have a qualified hostess staff up front lost them at least 15 customers who walked out the door. I'm glad we waited but I would strongly advise this location to reconsider the efficiency of their hostesses and the policy on not seating due to kitchen back up. Give your customers the option rather than lose them. read more

Love the decor, ambiance and intent. Execution however, leaves much to be desired. Greetings should be pleasant and professional. We got a reluctant to smile or make eye contact variety of server. Many employees standing around without purpose. Water or coffee refills, service check in with guests... All the poorly trained staff mistakes during a typical shift. Slow service ( only 2 other tables at 07:20ish) coffee was not hot. It also ran empty and stayed that way? Trifecta ordered. My over easy had an uncomfortable looking crust and crispy edges around the sides and it was over medium. The waffles looked amazing and probably would've tasted great. If only they had been warm enough to even start to melt the butter, but that was not the case either and then our sausage was undercooked and mushy in the middle and a little bit on the chilly side lukewarm, but still just not fully cooked and Not necessarily as tasty as it could've been. I was fortunate enough to be at the pre-opening event where I didn't have to pay for my meal. This time I had to pay for it, and I realized that they have a long way to go to catch up to Cracker Barrel at no point did I see a manager to check in on service or food quality and I did actually see one of the cooks hanging out in the dining room just kind of spacing out. Maybe he left the lid off of the pre-cooked food in the back or something. It got cold. Anyway, first visit was on you second visit was on me. There won't be a third visit. If that's your introduction to us, we're not very pleased to meet you. read more

Hate to leave a bad review because the food was on point but this has to be addressed, today I went to eat here and aside for a long wait because of how busy they were, which they can't control, everything was good until the end. DO NOT PAY BY SCANNING THE QR Code that's on the receipt. Apparently it doesn't work on their side but still takes your money, and they do not tell you this beforehand. So you end up having to pay twice, and hopefully your money is refunded in 3-5 business days or else you'll have to come back in for a cash refund so hopefully you live in the area (which I don't). This is just extremely irresponsible on their behalf, say you come in there with a large party and pay $500 through the QR code and have to pay another $500.. you're down 1k until further notice. How I see it, I was able to show proof of a receipt that I paid, there's no reason I should have been the one that took a loss, temporary or not due an error on their behalf. At that point they should have went ahead and taken care of the bill. Willing to change my review in the future but that was just ridiculous read more
