UPDATE: we went in and gave them another shot thanks to the management team and they did a great job accommodating us with our children. We went earlier in the morning so it wasn't as busy but we were well taken care of and of course the food was good as always. We went for breakfast with our kids and we will never go back. They sat a large party right behind us and didn't have enough seats for them but sat them anyways with two chairs that barely fit behind mine and my sons so I could not move at all to help my children with their food. The people in their party without seats stood and stared at our table so we were rushed to eat. It was a stressful eating experience. The food may have been good but I'm not really sure since I couldn't really enjoy it as I was eating as fast I could to free up the table. When the guy checking us out asked about our experience we told him and he just nodded and checked us out. My husband spoke to the manager and she had nothing to say other than they "try to accommodate all of their guests". Clearly that does not include families, just large parties. We have eaten there before and enjoyed the food but this was awful customer service and they didn't seem to care at all so we will not be going back. Absolutely no reason to go back. First of all a breakfast restaurant should have actual milk or cream for coffee, not packets. Bacon cooked to beyond crispy and obviously way before I ever ordered it, dry and brittle and not even hot. Third, I inquired about the possibility of gluten free bread. The waitress said she had no idea. I told her they could hold the toast if not and instead my breakfast showed up with the regular toast and no acknowledgement by the waitress. I understand if they didn't have the gluten free option but the staff should be a little more aware of what is going on-don't just forget I ever had a request and deliver my meal without any explanation. Blueberry pancakes! Everything we have had at First Watch has been excellent - but what keeps bringing us back are the blueberry pancakes with fruit sauce and syrup. This is a fast growing chain but without any signs that it is a chain. Have only had breakfast at the location in Flower Mound - but the lunch menu looks great and will have to give it a try soon. Definitely a weekend breakfast destination. read more

They sure don't let you leave hungry! On our first visit our server was more than happy to explain some on the dishes and we followed his suggestion. The food was really delicious and copious! We dined here for brunch today. I will say they forewarned us when we sat down that they were short handed In the kitchen and the food may take longer than expected. The coffee was hot and tasty. Our food on the other hand was not hot. We ordered the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was warm and the flavors tasty but the inside of the biscuits were icebox cold. We let the waitress and hostess know they may wanna warm up the biscuits before serving. I ordered the pancake and eggs and sausage. The eggs were cold. The sausage was cold and just not to my liking. My boyfriend ordered eggs Benedict and did enjoy them but his side of bacon was cold and potatoes not fully cooked/cold. The bill was $40 for a simple breakfast for two that was not enjoyable. The prices are just too high for the quality at this time. We ate there around 1pm and have had upset stomachs all day. Food is not bad. However, this place is always too busy for their staff to handle. Wait time is INSANE. I've had three occasions now where I've sat down, and my waiter/ waitress did not come to even greet me or acknowledge me. I decided one day that 15 min wait, after being seated, was long enough for me walk out. My last experience, I attempted to call ahead over phone to have an order placed. I called several times, due to the line just ringing. No answer. I drove up there and to be quite honest, there was no reason that someone couldn't answer the phone. Two people seemed available, just chatting up at the host desk. Anyway, I ordered my food. A very simple order; a sandwich with a soup, and the green drink. Thirty minutes later my food was in a bag ready to go, but no drink. I reminded her about it, and she said "Oh I'm sorry. They're out. Let me have them make you, one it'll just be a couple more minutes". I waited just about ten minutes, and along with my order was a ticket for a free meal for the wait/ inconvenience, which was nice. But by the time I got to my home and had my lunch, it was surely cold. To be honest, I will go back just to take advantage of my free meal. The food again, is not bad. But I sure wish the wait time was shortened. And I also wish to be acknowledged no matter how busy they are. read more

We arrived for a late breakfast on Saturday, there was a 20 minute wait, which was fine. Once seated we had to flag down a server to place our order, after we got our drinks (fresh grapefruit juice and a kale smoothie, both great!) we waited another 40 minutes for our breakfast. The only reason for a lack of 5 stars is that the last few times we've gone the service level has slipped. I had two over-easy eggs with turkey sausage gravy & biscuit. The eggs were awful and the turkey gravy smelled like dog food. (not kidding) My wife had two scrambled eggs with the same side order. Knowing it was 11:00 a.m. on Mother's Day and we were a party of 8, we knew we would have a wait. They told me it would be about 45-60 minutes. It was a beautiful day and we decided there would be a wait anywhere we might go on this day. During the 60 minutes we waited they checked in with us to let us know we had not been forgotten. When we were seated we had the most delicious, fresh food served by the kindest, most patient staff. The BLT eggs Benedict was beyond yummy. Staff was sort of indifferent, took my name and number for the sitting. We waited 8 minutes to be seated and after that not one person came to wait on us. After 20 minutes we got up and left under dirty looks from a unprofessional looking guy manning the register. He didn't even ask us why we were leaving or tell us "have a good day". I liked the choices. Lots of healthy options. Still a bit pricey but lots of organic, home grown, cage free ingredients, which justified the cost to me. Husband had coffee for $2.50 and he said it was a good cup of coffee. I tried the Day Glow juice ($3.99) which was good, it had ginger which I don't care for, but it was good in the drink. The container for the water is cute and I like the touch of home it added. I had the Farmfresh hash and my husband had the Market hash, both very good. The bread and fruit compote was fantastic and the small container of fruit was a nice touch. It seemed like a small serving when it came out but I couldn't finish mine and the husband said he stuffed himself to the point of feeling nauseated. So I think it was pretty good. We will be back to try a few other things. We arrived at 10 on Sunday, and had a 10 minute wait, by 11 the wait was 45 minutes when we left. read more

I was super excited to finally have a location close by! It was my favorite breakfast place in KC. We had the worst service. I asked for water from the server taking our order and never got any and finally another server who delivered our food brought us some. I had ordered the market skillet hash and it was cold but I couldn't tell anyone because the original server never came back. After I ate what I could, a third server came by and took my plate. After waiting a while for our check, I finally flagged and asked that third server if she could help us get it. By far the worst service and food that I have ever had at a first watch location! We were regulars at the Egg & I. First Watch has talen over. We've given it two chances. Both times we waited a very long time for our server to come to our table and then another very long time to come back with our drinks and both times they forgot the water we asked for "twice." The first time I did not get what I ordered. The second time my husband did not get what he ordered. It appears they have replaced the entire experienced wait staff. Maybe they should have kept them. I couldn't be more excited about First Watch being in Texas! Ate lunch at the Flower Mound location with a friend on 8/25/16, and we shared two salad/sandwich combos. SO DELICIOUS! Everything was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and great portions. We both also had the kale tonic and loved it! I am guessing we just came on an off day. This place is cute on the inside and has a great menu. The problem was the wait time and some mix ups with our food. We were seated quickly but a waitress never showed up. We had to ask for one. We were seated around several large parties so I'm guessing that caused a problem? Because we never got a waitress. I had to ask the hostess. She graciously took our drink order and food order. Then we waited, and waited and waited. We ordered simple breakfast food and should not have taken over an hour....an hour for scrambled eggs! Try entertaining 3 small hungry children for that long. We asked nicely where our food was after and hour and were told it should be there soon. Well half of it finally arrived. One of the orders was wrong and one didn't even show up. When you don't have a waitress checking on you, this makes it even more difficult to get someone's attention. We were told our meal would be comped and they did give us gift cards to come back. I truly do appreciate that gesture. That is good customer service. Honestly though, I do t know that i'd ever go back, even if it was free. Opening statement is that I am not a person to normally post reviews, but our experience today requires me to do so. This was our first time visiting this location. Have gone to this restaurant numerous times in/near Overland Park, KS and the service, food, atmosphere was GREAT!! Today, we decided to try this location and I must say that we will NEVER return. The gentleman who seated us was extremely polite. He even shared that it was his first day. After we were seated, we watched our waitress walk past our table no less than 4 times and she did not acknowledge us even once. No offers from anyone really to get us water, coffee nor juice. After well over 10 minutes of patiently waiting, with a hungry 6 year old, and seeing her attend to those around us, that was it!! We will take our money elsewhere. Disappointed because we really wanted to eat there after having such a great experience in KS. read more
