The sautéed veggies were also an amazing side and has complimented the combo tremendously. I didn't need to use steak sauce at all to cherish the red meat. A small slice at a time plus a little veggie forkful was all it took to have this 5-star taste experience. Add tasty grilled shrimp to palate next. The ambience was great although I think I am starting to get too old for the volume of music at amazing joints like this. I should know better coz it's a sports bar. But I'm fine nonetheless. I heard that their signature Margherita pizza is the star of the show. I should have that next year when I come back to Gonzales. Kayleigh, my server, was top notch. Incredible experience being in downtown Gonzales TX for the first time. A rain storm took me here by destiny. God is good coz I was able to find a church downtown for 4pm worship, then after that while waiting for the rain storm to diminish, gave me the best excuse to have early dinner at this amazing historic restaurant -- I believe a well-deserved stopover after a tiring but fruitful time teaching Redemption at my 8th Royal Rangers PowWow in Halletsville. It's a card game I've been playing and teaching for more than 20 years and counting. See you in a bit Gonzales. See u in a bit Come and Take It.

Went here last night with a friend. Absolutely charming place! The owner is an amazing chef and…read moreknows some serious wine. The food is all locally sourced and made from scratch. It was my first time in there and I will for sure be back! We shared a beet salad and the beef burger. Both were absolutely amazing. I know you'd say "oh, Julie, those aren't that big of a deal"...yes, yes it was. It was absolutely melt in your mouth burger and salad perfection. My friend said she has had almost everything on the menu and thinks it's all wonderful. I asked the chef to pick a Merlot for me...she did...it was so good! My friend had coffee and said her coffee is so good she will drive there from the next town over to get it. She also said it doesn't need anything to take away from the flavor. Often she puts sugar in her coffee, but not here! They also sell wine by the bottle and they had a few other cute local items for sale. A sign that I thought was precious said something like "my book group reads wine labels". They have tables in there, they also have a nice lounge area where you can sit comfy. Love the vibe, love the chef, 10/10!!

Our friends had the meatloaf skewers, crab cakes and salmon. Had a nice bottle of prosecco and a mimosa. Impressed with Blue, the food, and the wine selection. Atmosphere was nice and relaxed. We highly recommend making a visit here. We will be coming again.

When we walked in, I see the pictures of popular artists and performers who had been at this place posted at its reception wall. We happened to catch a nice band playing country songs that we liked on our visit. It would be nice if they have open up the dance floor but I guess it's only during nighttime visit that they do that. You could place an order of drinks or an appetizer while watching the show. Or if you feel like staying in the bar, where you could still hear the band , you are welcome to do so . How cool is that ? The location is in a busy community street and popular small town. It's worth swinging by during a visit in this area.

A true Texas dance hall, perfect for two-stepping and soaking in the culture. Even during the day, sitting outside with a beer offers a great experience. Staff are efficient, accommodating, and kind. as for cleanliness, the venue is kept spotless. There are a few things to consider: It gets extremely hot and sweaty inside, especially during shows. The venue is very popular, so expect large crowds and standing room only for many shows. While cards are accepted, having cash for an ATM across the street is useful. In terms of parking, the surrounding Gruene Historic District is busy, so it might be a little bit challenging. Overall experience: It's considered more than just a venue; it's an experience. Go early for the daytime feel or brace for heat and crowds for the legendary live shows inside, but either way, it's a cornerstone of Texas music history.

I've wanted to come to Shady Llama for years, and we finally made it out yesterday. I am so…read moredisappointed in myself for not coming all the time before this, because Shady Llama is EXCELLENT! First, the staff members are very friendly and know everything there is to know about their available wine and brews. I love that almost all (if not all) are local sips - it's really great to see all of these different places in Wimberley/Dripping Springs/Spicewood support each other. Just another reason why I love Hill Country! When I saw Lazarus Rice Lager and St. Elmo, my gluten free heart skipped a beat, because both of those brews have been treated with the enzyme that makes the brews (normally) OK for those who are gluten sensitive but not for those with celiacs. I don't miss beer, but those two brews are too delicious to pass up when I see them on tap! We also tried the Spicewood wine flight, which was one of the best wine flights I've ever had, and I cannot wait to go buy bottles of each to bring home. All 3 were delicious, crisp, robust, and beautifully paired with each other in the flight. The views were beautiful. Beautiful is honestly an understatement. I love that so much of this area is still undeveloped. I'm sure it was less developed even 5 years ago, but the views from Shady Llama while sitting in a wooden porch Adirondack chair sipping some wine is perfection. I can only imagine how beautiful it is at sunset. I do wish they had a couple more tables by those chairs so I can rest my drink, but it's uneven and probably hard to do so, so I happily will sit with my brew in hand and relax. There's also plenty of seating but not overly crowded with chairs and benches which is love, and I loved the hammocks too! This place is GREAT for families. Playgrounds, slides, almost all kids areas gated so you don't have to worry about them running into the woods with critters. Fun for all ages, and they're just far enough from the seating to minimize the noise that this kiddos love to make! I loved the llamas. Some of them were so spicy and truly just wanted the food, and I feel that. No pets, just food, and I applaud it. Some of them would let you pet them, and the personalities on some of them were REAL, but give them some food and they may let you take a picture. So much fun having them there! Add on some delicious brisket in the back (I am so sad I missed the burnt ends), and all in all, the Shady Llama is GREAT! You are also able to bring outside food, but no outside beverages! Great place and cannot wait to come back!

Gorgeous sunset views. Bar was nice. Food truck was closed and no live music on a Saturday night.read more
