We had an air hygeniest come out to our new home because of musty odors and her air samples showed mold. I'd never dealt with this kind of issue, and emotionally, it's a lot, after having just purchased a home and then finding all these things wrong with it, worrying about the potential effects it could have on your family's health, not to mention paying for all these people involved to fix it. There's the air hygienist (who needs to retest, too), the mold remediation team, the air duct cleaners, water proofers, contractors to repair all the cuts in the house, and you'll probably want house cleaners, too, for good measure. We're talking thousands and thousands. When looking for mold remediation, I started with the list my air hygienist gave me and reached out to three companies who had the best reviews online. I'm so grateful First Priority was on that list. David was the only person who took the time to discuss the issue on the phone and help me try to understand what was going on. I felt immediately better just chatting with him. The others just scheduled times to come by and gave quotes, and during their visits, they couldn't answer basic questions ("I'm just a consultant"), or they were trying to upsell and get us to contract out the repair work when we hadn't even figured out the mold problem! I had to wait a while to get appointments but it was worth having someone who really understood my concern and took it as seriously as I did. I wish there were an option for 6 stars because that's what I would give David! He is an exceptional professional who genuinely cares and goes above and beyond for his customers. For those who have ever dealt with water damage and mold, you know it is an incredibly stressful situation that upends your life. So I wish we had met David under better circumstances, but I'm so glad we found him to do the mold remediation. His meticulous attention to detail, experience, and knowledge alone is enough to hire him, but in addition, he comes recommended by independent highly regarded mold testing/environmental professionals. In addition to all of the above, David is incredibly hard working and did everything he could to accommodate us. We have a lot of allergies in our family so David brought in an extra air scrubber and left all 3 air scrubbers with us to help us out during the re-construction process. He absolutely did not have to do that. He also didn't have to leave up the containment barrier for the re-construction phase, but he did. Because that is the kind of person he is! And because we were in such a bind, David put us in touch with folks to do the re-construction, etc. and helped us managed that process. He also answered ALL our questions promptly, even after he had completed the job. I do not frequently give such glowing reviews, but I truly simply cannot recommend David highly enough! A retiring mold remediation specialist recommended First Priority to me, saying David Novello is the only one he'd ever trust. Luckily I took his advice, because David not only successfully remediated a difficult mold case, but helped us deal emotionally, physically and financially with the loss of our finished basement. He gave us tips on how to clean personal contents we didn't want to discard, and tips recently on how prevent future mold spread. The proof of David's success is that he remediated our moldy basement 4 years ago, and the structure remains mold-free. We are comfortable now going ahead and re-finishing the basement. David is devoted to his work and generous with his time and wisdom. My last landlord insisted that I use this carpet cleaning service when I moved out, so they must be doing something right. The website claims 24 hour service, though when I tried to confirm details at 1:30 am I received no answer. Not knocking them for it since I get the feeling it's just Dave Novello and a small crew working for him, but seriously don't describe your service as round the clock if it's not. Also surprised to see the symbols for credit card payment options on the site since I was only offered the option to pay via check. Pricing isn't the best in the area, but I will admit his service was otherwise consistent. It was easy to schedule and get quoted (with the apartment layout, $145 for clean carpet, $165 for dirty). Payment and entry arrangements were easy to make to work around not being able to meet. He was upfront about being unable to estimate an exact appointment time on a busy day that I had picked, communicated his arrival on site, and emailed me the invoice at the end of the day as promised. Won't be using their service again, mostly because I follow the stereotype of taking off my shoes in my own home. Like hayell I enjoy paying for a service I don't need. read more

I put in a call to First Priority and they never answered the phone, that should have been my first clue. Someone called me later that day and asked if I had called. Apparently they were in training and nobody thought about setting up voicemail. I setup an appointment for that Thursday although they wouldn't give me a set time when the were coming. After taking a day off to meet him the service representative never showed. I called them back to complain and the same guy who never showed called me back and scheduled another appointment for Monday. I'm not sure why a manager would not have called and talk to me - 2nd clue. Again he never showed up again for the 2nd appointment. I found two other reputable companies that I'm working with to get quotes on my remediation project and both have at least kept their appointments and have had the decency to call me back. read more

These guys are simply the best. I had a pipe burst in my basement due to the freezing cold temps in February. My basement carpet was quite soaked. I called First Priority as soon as I could and Dave sent a crew out the next morning to lift up the carpet, remove the soaked padding, apply anti-microbial agents and put up massive fans to dry the carpet out. It took 3 days for the carpet to dry but his crew came out again as promised and removed the fans so that I could have a contractor come in and make the necessary repairs to the drywall, etc. After the repairs were done, Dave and his crew came back out, thoroughly cleaned the carpet, and made sure everything was done to my satisfaction. He and his crew went out of their way to come and finish the project on a weekend, which was very much appreciated. The office is very responsive, and they make a concerted effort to keep you updated and answer any questions you have. My bill was being covered by my homeowner's insurance, but my insurance agent said that the rates were very reasonable for the work being done. All in all, highly recommended. I hope I never have to call them again, but I would not hesitate to do so if necessary. read more

We cannot say enough wonderful things about David and his team at First Priority. We discovered, before a basement renovation, that there was a serious mold issue and our contractors recommended a company they had worked with. To make a long story short, the other company never contained the area (didn't seal with plastic or cover the vents) before demo so blew mold spores all over our house. David was profoundly empathic about the situation and spent 20 minutes on the phone with me educating me about air scrubbers and how to manage the unsafe situation, even though his schedule was full and we couldn't hire him. Later when he learned that the situation had deteriorated, he rearranged his schedule to fit us in. He and his team did an incredibly thorough job and he worked with us to keep the cost down in as many ways as possible. We are are so grateful for his expertise- they took care of everything so we can rest easy and know we are safe. We have used David for mold remediation twice. Once 4 years ago after a dish washer slowly leaked all over the first floor and second recently after a slow toilette leak. Getting rid of mold is time consuming and not inexpensive, but working with David Novello at First Priority made the process as easy as possible. His price was reasonable (I had gotten 2 other higher estimates), the employee who worked on my remediation came to my home when expected and left the area neat when he finished for the day. First Priority was recommended to me by a friend and now I am recommending First Priority to anyone who uses Yelp. Normally I only review restaurants but since Yelp has expanded, I think anyone here looking for a contractor that takes care of water damage or mold........I highly recommend First Priority and David. Unfortunately I had flood damage and thought I could clean this myself. To make a long story short, My basement got a very bad case of mold damage months after I did my clean up. David came out and I put my faith and trust in him. He found areas behind baseboard where mold had spread as well as other areas. He took care of all the mold and I thought the price was fair for all the time that they put into this job. My wife and I also had First Priority come by a few weeks later to clean the upstairs carpets and the person that came did an awesome job on the carpets.
