Schwab's checking/debit card comes with free ATM withdrawals around the world (the fees are refunded to your account), and regular debit purchases at stores and stuff as I was told have no FOREX (foreign exchange) fees. I had a snaffoo with the online registration (which is actually super simple), so I called their 24 hour helpline-- I was amazed I didn't get someone in a foreign country. The broker I was on the phone with was a real person, and he was so darn cool and I can't begin to tell you how helpful he was. ***Total call time: 1 HOUR 45 MINUTES of him giving me the 411***. Isn't that crazy? He walked me through registration, confirmed on his end that I was set to go, explained the processes of how the brokerage-checking account I signed up for works, how deposits work, how to expedite my checking card coming in the mail because I'm going on a trip soon-- and then.. The best Investing 101 lesson I've ever had. I took these classes in college but it all went over my head. He explained investment strategies, the definitions of everything, how to use their online tools-- basically demystified something I tend to stay away from dealing with, and made asking questions really easy. ... I don't remember his name, but (I think) he works in the Indianapolis office. and that he was 24 and super smart. I really felt like I have having an over the phone class tutor who was really supportive and patient. Best customer service I've ever had. I called back in to try to ask that he gets sort of recognition (each time you call you may get a call center in a different city) so they are going to track him down. The atmosphere at this branch location it just very friendly very relaxing. I think I'm really going to enjoy my new account with this Bank. But it's located close to where I live which makes it very convenient. I highly recommend this location and this Bank. I would call my card and it still be the wrong balance, than what I KNEW was suppose to be the balance was on there. The app and the hotline were two TOTAL DIFFERENT BALANCES, when I KNEW what was suppose to be on there. Because I KNEW the balance that was suppose to be one there, I tried to use it and it still wouldn't let me purchase it, at all. After DAYS of this happening...... the app & over the phone banking was finally FIXED, and I COULD FINALLY USE MY CARD AGAIN....... I give this a 1 star, because money makes the world go round, and I felt so helpless without being able to know I could use my card that had my only money on it. My dealings with Amy Twardosky at this office were absolutely horrendous. I had a one page tax report to be filed for an HOA association that Amy initially told me she'd file the next day. When five days went by without that happening, I placed a call to her, and she promised to get right on it. When ten days went by, I called her daily. Not only did she NOT return phone calls, but when I finally did reach her, she yelled at me because I was "being impatient." She did apologize before we hung up, saying she was stressed over recent wind damage to their office, and other tax returns. When she finally DID return my form, it wasn't signed or dated, and I'm still not sure if it was even submitted to the IRS because she never responded to my email. She is definitely NOT someone I want handling my taxes.

Then proceeded to cut me off and said do you wanna finish the application or not. I asked if it was acceptable for her to speak to customers that way she of course had no answer and continued to be rude and dismissive. My car was insured with Mark Hankins from December 2018 to June 2019. In the first few months he…read morewas helpful and responsive when I had to contact him, but near the end of my insured term it became hard to reach him because it would take him at least a few days to respond to my emails and my phone calls always went straight to voicemail. In March, my car was rear-ended and the other person's insurance paid for my car, but unknown to me my insurance company was supposed to send the BMV proof that I was insured at the time of the accident, or they would suspend my license. I did not realize that until August when I had already switched insurance companies, but the BMV had suspended my license at that point. I contacted Mark to ask him to send the BMV proof that I was insured at the time of the incident as soon as convenient since my license was suspended, but he ignored all of my attempts to contact him. I emailed him on a Monday, did not get any response for a week, then followed up with another email the next Monday and still did not get a response. Then I tried calling his mobile and office numbers, and all calls went straight to voicemail. I emailed him again that Wednesday, and still no response. I tried calling him over the next few days and all attempts went to voicemail. I also tried calling the Bristol West customer service number but it just redirected me then hung up every single time. At this point it had been two weeks since I first contacted Mark about sending in documentation to reinstate my license, and I was getting desperate. I called the hotline for claims even though I didn't have a claim to make just so I could speak to a human, and it took the guy two minutes to send in the documentation to the BMV to reinstate my license. The thing is, I did inform Bristol West AND Mark Hankins when I was rear-ended back in March even though they did not have to pay for my car, so I don't understand why they didn't send in the documentation at that point. Bottom line is, Mark Hankins refused to help me reinstate my driver's license even though 1.) he should have done it back in March when I was insured under him, and 2.) it would have taken him two minutes to do so. Additionally, he ignored all attempts to contact him, knowingly forcing me to be stuck with a suspended license for two weeks. Do you really want to be insured with an agent like this?
