i agree with all the negative reviews here for this dealership. $200 for a diagnosis and cant fix snap. Dishonest, shady, and tried to get $2000+ out of me for literally nothing--i brought it to a different shop and they told me, there was no issue (that would cost me $2000+) that needed to be fixed. Never explains anything, never shows you the parts and what's going on with the car behind their closed garage doors. Takes hours. I had to come back in 2 weeks for an additional appointment only to be told i have to spend more money to fix something that didn't need fixing. Free oil change, out of the blue, no longer honored. Squeezed ~2000 out of me last year prior to getting my yearly inspection sticker too...definitely not happening a 2nd time. Negative 10 stars. I was not happy to say the least. Definitely not using their shop again nor do i recommend it to anyone. I would not recommend First Hyundai for a car purchase. The main reason I chose to purchase my Hyundai Kona (which I absolutely love) from First Hyundai was the benefit of First for Life. A program that promised free oil changes, tire repairs and rotation, and new wipers (once a year) for life. When I went for my first oil change, I was told the program was no longer available and there was nothing I could do about it. Buyer beware of broken promises by dealership. I emailed my concerns to the general manager, but he did not have the courtesy to respond. I imagine that I'm not the first one to be disappointed by the withdrawal of this program and non-response from the GM. Buy elsewhere. read more

All employees pleasant . I come back to First Hyundai simply because I bought my vehicle from them . I want Hyundai parts and a bigger company that will back their work. Lack of communication from assigned Service Consultant . I guess it depends who you get that does the best job at this. My vehicle was scheduled, looked at early , I got the phone call an hour after service dept. opened. Agreed to the work .It was basic repair. Should have the part, was told it was the wrong part , the parts dept gave the tech the wrong one. duh. So after all this , I didn't get my car back to me until 3:30. Communication, prioritizing jobs would make a difference for customers coming back. If a customer calls ahead , has their car there at opening for a basic repair when I could have gone anywhere , why would blaming the parts dept for the wrong part me feel like this was an organized Service Consultant ? Customer service inside was fine. Yet, I went here for my oil change since this is where i bought my car, and ever since that i noticed my car's speed and reaction time had declined significantly. And not to mention it took forever, was there for hours. Went to another mechanic and he drained atleast 3 EXTRA quarts of oil... Terrible service, the reviews live up to what they write: avoid at all cost or you may pay the price. I took my Hyundai Tucson Hybrid to First Hyundai for regular maintenance and they did not put the top of my engine on and did not fully close the hood. I drove with my car like this with my baby in it before realizing and the hood could have lifted while I was driving creating a dangerous situation. Fortunately, this did not happen. I brought the car in the next day and the service member told me that he didn't know who worked on my car and said maybe the top of the engine came off while I was driving. This is impossible. It clearly was not put back together correctly before I left! I do not recommend coming here! read more

I had a terrible experience with this dealership and do not recommend them. They took 30 days to do a job that they told me would take less than a week. I had to repeatedly contact them for updates as they were poor with communication and never reached out to me to provide updates or explanations. I actually had to go back into the store and confront the managers, who were dismissive, rude and offered absolutely no concession at all. They didn't admit any error on their part, they acted like they wanted me to just go away and be quiet and they'd let me know when my car was ready. Completely unacceptable. The manager and asst manager appear to be brothers, so good luck 'going over their head' because one pats the back of the other. Definitely buy a Hyundai but definitely buy it at a different dealership. read more

This dealership was eager to close the sale, but no one returns your calls with questions on why your registration hasn't been completed a month after we completed the purchase. We were told it would take a week. The salesman never returned our calls and when we contacted someone who answered the phone, we were assured someone would be in touch with us. No one contacted us. The car buying experience is no better or worse than most dealers. The Service department on the other hand, appears to be awful. I say appears because I am currently trying to get my 2019 Hyundai Tuscon in to address an issue with the hazard light not working. The car has only 35K miles and was recently rejected for the hazard light issue. When I contacted First Hyundai, they told I could not bring my car in until FEBRUARY 2024 - note the date of this review please as February is FOUR months away. This is completely unacceptable given that I have to fix the issue relating to the inspect rejection within 30 days. I tried to explain this to the service person I spoke to but it was like talking to a robot. So now, I'm faced with spending $$$, possibly significant money if the issue is electrical, for an item that is likely SHOULD covered by my 'best in the business" warrantee. My wife and I have bought five Hyundais over the years from this dealer. The Kona she bought in 2022 WILL be our last purchase from them. read more

I leased a vehicle from first Hyundai in October of 2024. We had the vehicle for approximately 2 weeks and had to bring it in for what we thought was a windshield wiper motor issue. Turns out, there were major problems with the vehicle and we have not had the vehicle since. It is a 2025 vehicle & no one can tell me what the issues are. I have been making payments on a vehicle I don't have for the last 6 months. This has now gotten way out of control without a resolution to date. I get empty promises! I have not had my car and have been making payments since. I have been extremely patient with the situation! I cannot get a definitive answer as to the issues. At this point, it doesn't matter. I am thoroughly disappointed with the level of service and lack of responsibility from the dealership. I've reached the final straw! Horrible customer service. Went in a bought a lime green Kona, our associate was John. Very nice but not the best at making you feel homie and feeling valued. Did not bother to learn our name. We left the first day after not making a deal. Said the deal was impossible. 3 days later the manager?? Maybe Chris young called us and tried to renegotiate again with us, coming down even closer where we wanna be. Clearly playing games. Took us 2 days of texting and calling and a bunch of usual dealership games to come to an Agreement. Which was 500$ away from where we wanted to be day one. Here's the icing on top of the cake. We need a check from them to pay off the previous vehicle. Said it would be ready in 3 days. We are now on day 7 business day. So in summary, lots of generic dealership games, and empty promises. I've had an oil change and recall done in their service department previous to my current interaction. I didn't have any issues. I went on a Saturday. I sat in their waiting area. Oil change was done. They had to order the part for the recall. That was a little irritating. But I submitted the form online. Had I called and spoken to someone instead they may have ordered the part. I came back for the recall. It took a bit of time but I expected that. They provided me with updates while I waited. I had no issues with the service department. I am on my 5th lease. I have been to a lot of dealerships. My previous experience on my last lease was awful at Boch Hyundai. My lease wasn't up until October but First was having Presidents Day deals. I really wasn't expecting to make a deal. I even filled my car with gas. That's how little faith I had in walking out with a new deal. I sat with Josh. After the smallest amount of back and forth, I got the deal I wanted, for the car I wanted. There was so little pressure. They had a white car on the lot and when Josh saw I wasn't crazy about it he said take the night think it over. You need to get the car you want. Before I left I decided to get the red. I was there for 1.5 hours. The next day Josh told me my car was already on its way to the dealership. It should be there either that day or the next. Again I didn't believe him. Sure enough he called at 5:30 that night. The car was in. I made an appointment to come in the following afternoon to finish the paperwork. Everything went as smooth as silk. The finance manager was wonderful as well. Josh showed me the new features on the car. I was done in 1 hour. Total of 2.5 hours to lease a new car. It has taken 4-6 hours on previous leases. I didn't feel like I was dealing with a salesman. I will be recommending First Hyundai to everyone. read more

Horrible customer service.. walked in , three people seated at desks INCLUDING a "receptionist". No one acknowledged me. Waited an awkward minute or so and finally I had to say "hello...im here for service?" Had a recall and an oil change. The Car buying experience was fine and relatively painless. A couple of minor issues with being able to use the "recent college graduate" incentive and getting the plates, but all in all, OK. Things really go downhill when it comes to the service department. If it were possible to give negative stars, I would. First, the car purchase included regular maintenance for the first couple of years. When the first maintenance came due, I called to schedule service, and was given a date, 3+ months into the future for an oil change. The oil was supposed to bear changed every 7500 miles, but in order to do that, I needed to schedule my oil changes at 3750. Pain in the butt. The real problem started with a defect in the radiator. The upper right hand corner of the radiator developed a leak at the seem. No exterior damage, so it's a warranty item. The car is drive able, but can't really trust it as i need to add fluid every couple of days. I called to schedule an appointment and can't get one for months. Really? A car that is borderline drive able (still under warranty) and they won't try to get it in sooner. Service matters, my advice is to runaway. read more

Well, ALL the reviews saying to stay away from this dealership are on point. Just stay away from Hyundai on a whole, there's a reason WHY their vehicles are cheap. My husband had issues with hesitation in his 2017 Tucson from the moment he bought the car. Brought it into Imperial Hyundai in Milford MA - but they couldn't "duplicate the problem" yet Kevin in their service department just stated last week when we needed the service records for an attorney, that his own car is stalling out on the highway - And then onto this place, who's FULL of incompetent individuals who ignore and lie profusely-attempting to look at the engine and transmission last year for the same hesitation on a stop, and then trying to accelerate. Safety hazard at its finest. If you google problems with the dual clutch - you'll see they recalled 2016 models and their own service department knows there's an issue with their 2017 (they tell you they know) - that you can actually look up a law firm who's doing a class action law suit against Hyundai for their lying and not recalling the later Tucsons among others. AAA dropped it off, this dealership didn't tell him anything after a week. So he had to call TODAY. Don't bother writing the service department manager - Mr. Depalmer is USELESS in every sense of the word as another review had spoke about him as well. Why they give him an email and a phone number, who knows? To look important? Because he clearly doesn't know how to utilize either one. BBB and AG were contacted by my husband-and this Hyundai service department still is stalling (much like their pathetic vehicles on the highway) so their employees and their vehicles have that in common at least. Lisa - my husband's supposed service rep is a joke. Acts shady with him - asks for his registration and if the car was in his name or a company's name, but she couldn't EVEN then tell him what's wrong with the vehicle. You have the car salesmen on your behind TOO when you go down there in person asking questions...asking you to trade it in, when whey know your vehicle is in their getting fixed which we just found out today was a blown engine -which is common if you actually do your research - which unfortunately my husband did not. The Tucsons aren't the only vehicles being affected. So they're all in it for the money - trying to get you to trade in a car that you JUST got towed in for a blown engine. Who would want another Hyundai? And with these service personnel that seem to be shady and not know what they're doing - they literally wait for your car to blow after several complaints of it not operating right, and then tell you it could be several months as of today to get it back. So you're paying on a car that you don't have. Loaner is their cheap Elantra - so if you're looking to use a car as an SUV for hauling stuff which is why he bought it - it isn't going to happen. Lisa evidently said they used to have SUVs like the Tucson in their fleet of loaners but not anymore. Probably because they blew up too on the highway. She had no comment when I said that to her either. Stay far away from this service department-the manager there is a joke and so is Lisa - and don't expect to see your vehicle anytime soon, because they can't even give you a diagnostic for over a week. Lisa's response was for every bad service review they are punished by corporate money wise - like we're supposed to feel bad for her and that corporate should understand they're backed up in service. That's what she said, that corporate doesn't understand "what they're up against." Why are they backed up? Because they can't build a car right and 2. Service doesn't apparently know what they're doing eithe. Look at past reviews about their service, and the excuses and the rudeness. Stay FAR AWAY. Never. Again. RUN. Good sale experience, but soon as I took my car off the lot 2 lights popped on. Low oil and low battery in the key. I call to schedule a service appt and they book a MONTH out. I've had to keep putting oil for a month now to avoid any issues. Still don't have my plates, and tried to get in touch with my salesperson a few times and left messages but he never got back to me. OH and they ran my credit through 3 different companies even though I had fair credit. So 3 hard inquiries for one purchase, terrible! Credit dropped 50 points. read more

Can't even give it a star. The most mismanaged car dealership/ "service center" in the state. From top to bottom everybody in the building is inept. After my girlfriend got hosed by their snakeish sales team, I've been forced to bring the car there for routine service. Each time I enter that shithole the experience gets worse and worse. After making an appointment a week ago for a simple oil change and to check a bad fuse. I gave the keys to the "service manager" and said I was going to wait in the waiting area. After two hours of waiting I went outside to see that the car was on the corner of garage, and had not been inside yet. The service manage then lied to me And said it would be another half hour as they were looking for a bad wire. After another 40 minutes I went out side to again see the car has yet to be moved. Hasn't been touched by anyone since I gave him the keys almost three hours ago. At this point I lose my patience and request the keys. The manager then states he thought the car was in the service bay, and that he did not know I was waiting, if though he saw me in the waiting area multiple times. DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE AT THIS HELLHOLE, and DEFINITELY DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANY SERVICE. ABSOLUTE DOGWATER ESTABLISHMENT. read more

Upon walking in to purchase a new car, the salesman immediately informed me I'd need a co-signer before we could discuss financing further. I've never been to this dealership previously and upon asking why I need a co-signer, I stumped the salesman. He said "You have a good credit score?" Not entirely sure if this is because I'm a younger female or what the assumption is, but they could've given me a car for free and I wouldn't have taken it. The salesman spoke only to the male I was with, despite being told this would be my deal 3 times and that I would be buying the car independently. irstly, Lisa Anderson is nice and does try to help you. (She's one of their reps). May 4, I ask for my car's oil to be changed and to check a few things, general point inspections brakes etc. etc. I ask them to check the heating element in the seat. I also ask them about the buttons on the steering wheel not working and that my AC has stopped blowing cold air. Drop my car off, someone drives me home. So basically without my car from 8:30 to 2:30. Lisa calls and says, car's ready but we couldn't fix the rest of it because the mechanic left. She said there's a serious groove in your roter please come back. So I schedule for one week from that date. (Friday) Tuesday I am driving to work and my car is making VERY loud grinding noises, people are looking at me, I have to pull over to look at it to make sure nothing is falling off. I call and say the car feels unsafe, can you have someone look at it sooner. She says yes, not today obviously, but tomorrow yes. I have to rent a car. They do not have loaners. Wednesday, nothing, I call 3pm and on, no answer, the receptionist just "left" according to the workers there who clearly do not think highly of the receptionist. The manager quits during all of this. I can not get anyone on the phone. Lisa calls on Thursday and says I promise I have someone working on it, I am leaving at 1, but one of my coworkers knows your issue and will call you when its done and it'll be all set. No one calls. I am again, calling and calling and calling, NO answer. I even call the regular sales dept. and speak to "Deb" like four times. She's flabbergasted that no one is answering the phones in service either. Friday, I go by and pick up my car. The AC was supposed to be fixed and the heating element in the front two seats were supposed to be fixed. They were not. A employee comes out and says oh yeah, we put dye in it to see where the leak is and tries to show me how it all works. I don't at this point want a lesson in mechanics. I have spent 1692.00 on my car and the two main things I needed fixed (in 90+ degree weather) not fixed. I wear suits to work and I was showing up drenched, so I had to start wearing t shirts and shorts and then changing at work when I got there. Oh and they broke the button that tells you your gas mileage. Bring my car back AGAIN over a week later. Lisa calls at 4pm to tell me nothing was done on the car. I call to speak to the manager, they don't have one. Then I get stuck talking to another representative who laughs at me on the phone because I said I don't want to learn about why or how the car needs to be fixed, I want it to be fixed. I drive down there to speak to the owner, they refuse to get me the owner. Fine. Same guy who laughs at me on the phone takes my order and says "I'll hang it right here so I can keep an eye on it and get your situation and I'll call you" and gives me his card. Never calls. Been going back and forth, called corporate, started to get somewhere with them and then got assigned a cust. rep that "didn't know my situation" when she called me, so I told her maybe go look at the file then call your customers? I've worked in customer service for eons, I'd never. ever. ever. conduct myself this way. Worst part for them is I was a loyal Hyundai owner, I was going to purchase the palisade this Fall. Never. ever. ever. getting a Hyundai ever again. Oh, and when you call their main line, even today (July 8, 2021 ) it says they are closed because of covid. Come on. read more

Our brakes in our Santa Fe were squeaky and we took the car to First Hyundai. They told us to replace the brake pads. We did, to the tune of $700. The squeak did not resolve and we took the car back. We were told it was "road grit" and the brakes were fine. Squeak never resolved. We took the car to another dealership, where they found damage to the brakes so serious, I was not allowed to leave in the car until it was repaired. The front brakes were never assembled properly (the original reason for the squeak) and in the course of replacing the rear brake pads, the rear brakes were damaged. Parts were missing. Other parts were bent and punctured more parts, and the parking brake was damaged. So, First Hyundai missed the initial problem in the first place and damaged our brakes in replacing the pads. Then they either missed the initial problem again plus the damage they did when we took the car in the second time and got the road grit excuse or they lied about checking the second time. And now we have to pay $800 to get things repaired correctly and are lucky we aren't dead in a ditch somewhere. read more

They said I needed a starter because it wouldn't start and a switch and It still has problems starting then said I need brakes and a serpentine belt and other things. How stupid I am because I know nothing about cars. When a mechanic tells me I need work done I trusted them! Come to find out My Serpentine belt and brakes and cabin filter was all done 6 months prior with my tune up at the other hyundai. How I know ? Because I was organizing my receipts and noticed. Been trying to contact the general manager. They tell me he's not in. I gave up because no one cares to help me. I'll never trust anyone on my life again! We've had nothing but positive experiences. We have purchased three vehicles from First. We keep going back because of the great service. We also have the First customer service package (I can't remember the exact name). Angela and everyone in the Service Department always is so nice, professional and friendly, in addition to, really seeming to care about delivering on expectations as to when my vehicle will be ready. The sales staff are not professional and if you end up leasing, they will harass you near the end of the lease advising you that you will pay x amount of a penalty fee. I keep getting harassing emails from David Hamel stating that he reviewed my lease terms and I'll be paying a penalty fee for being over my miles. On top of it all....haven't had the car in a year...they still call and still harrass me with emails. Stay away! Listen to the rest of the reviews! If only it was possible to leave zero stars. Run away from this dealership as quickly as you can. The sales experience is a good one. But when you need service you might as well slam your head against a wall. It feels better than dealing with the service department. I bought out my lease at the end of May. 2 weeks after the engine blew. It took 9... yes 9 week to fix. And for the first 5 weeks they "didn't have a loaner". Are you kidding me? During this time, my car sat in the lot. After finally replacing the engine (under warranty) they called me and demand the loaner back in under an hour. Nope.. The next day they call to tell me the battery won't hold a charge and it needs to be replace ($160) .. what?? The battery is dead after sitting since June 3 on your lot? Not being worked on? What a surprise. On top of all of this, when I bought out the lease, the dealership was in charge of transferring my registration. RECAP.. bought out end of May. After about a million phone calls, emails and texts... They finally registered my vehicle on AUGUST 19. The trouble I would have been in if I got pulled over... Text again no reply. Finally call and was not told I was being impatient. That I needed to wait. The finance manager Paul Benton was a complete jerk who hang up on me before I could ask a question and never returned any of my phone calls. By Thursday I decided to find another dealer. I went to McGovern Hyundai in Brockton. They are the exact opposite. Virtuous and respectful. I bought a Santa Fe Sport there with in 2 hours and had it by Friday. If I could give 0 stars I would. I went in they wanted to sell me a call that was on a lift with no tires without a test drive. Car was gone by the next week. No big deal found another, they said it needed to go through the final inspection, and sent me a picture of it on the lift. 4 days later and only because I have been bugging them daily, I get a call to tell me there is $2400 worth of repairs to be made on the car. They will not make them unless I come in and buy the car upfront before the repairs, then it will still take another week or two to fix. The will sell it to a wholesaler if I don't buy it before the repairs. On top of that they only wanted to give me a 30 day warranty. So it took them almost a week to tell me they don't think the car is worth fixing, but if I pay for it up front they will sell it to me. UMM I think not. The Salesman Dave Sacco is just trying to get a sale and could care less if the car dies 2 minutes down the road. As long as it isn't his problem. read more

My salesman did a good job of getting me a good deal on the car I wanted, but that's where the positives end. The car was delivered with cosmetic damage. I called them up to inform them of this, and I was transferred to service. The service department, run by Billy Depalma, is not only incompetent - they are near criminal. Billy flat out called me a liar on the phone. Said the words "you are lying." When I provided timestamped photographic evidence and had it corroborated by sales, service person Ben promised me they would send the replacement part to my local Hyundai service center. I waited a month for an update. I was once again transferred to Billy. In my entire life, having worked with multiple car service centers, I have never met an individual less helpful than Billy. Billy proceeded to tell me that despite what I was told by sales and also by Ben, he would not work with my local service center to get the part installed for me. He would not send the part to them to have the work done. He would not communicate with them in any way to move this forward. He indicated that all previous communications I've had were incorrect, and that my only options were to get Key Hyundai to do a warranty repair themselves, or to drive 90 miles on my limited lease to have them to do it. When I continued to point out that this was not what I had been promised, he said that he was the final word on the matter. I asked for his supervisor's name, and he refused to give it to me. I asked for his supervisor's phone number, and he refused to give it to me. He then proceeded to suggest to me that if I did not wish to go to First Hyundai, he would simply begin the process of returning the part to corporate. I would never - in my entire life - recommend First Hyundai to another potential customer as long as the service center is run by this team. Incompetence, disrespect, and rudeness aren't the words. Riddle me this .... Is a business any good if you have to get the Attorney General & the Better Business Bureau involved? The answer to that should have you searching for a car elsewhere. It took seven weeks AFTER I purchased the vehicle for a financial error to be resolved. First Hyundai stopped responding to my calls/messages altogether and only acted once I filed complaints with the AGs office & the BBB. Even after the resolution, they shifted the responsibility away from themselves. I have no words to describe how unprofessional First Hyundai is. I spent over fours hours at the dealership and the only time the salesman deigned to get off his phone was to fill out paperwork. Literally! He was on his phone from the moment I entered until I drove off the lot. James Clanton is the epitome of a sleazy used car salesman. It was evident from the jump that he only cared about his commission and flat out refused to negotiate with me. To add insult to injury, I found out after the car purchase that the Sales Manager blatantly lied to me and had me paying addition monies for a feature that was optional, although I was told it was mandatory.
