I really appreciate the near 360° gate coverage that assures little kids can't wander off. However it is only 3 feet or so high so bigger kids hopped back and forth as needed to catch flying footballs. The single pavilion provides a shaded space for parents to relax or have a picnic but this area does fill up quickly and there wasn't much other shade mid day. Be advised there are no permanent restrooms. Although there are three port-a potties near the park. Recommend bringing any sanitation you may need as there was no soap and port-a potty situations are more challenging for small children.

There is an area for learning with some air plane wings and a place to sit and chill. Walk a bit further and there is a waterfall. Wasn't moving a lot of water the day we went, but it was still a good photo. We walked out a bit further and didn't see anything more but an open path for walking. The main falls area is best enjoyed in the early morning when there isn't a drought of any severity, as it dries up pretty easily. Before the pandemic, this place was a true hidden gem but it has become more crowded since then, even with the world's tiniest and easily missed parking lot acting as population control. I will just give you the CliffNotes version in that the park is very clean - perfect for running/jogging, walking, and sitting around to enjoy the outdoors. Here's the new impression about how kid friendly it is. First off, I love their splash pad. The best part of it is it's free! We tend to go on cooler/cloudy days when the summer sun is not beating down on us. They have benches and tables for families to sit around the splash pad. You can't bring your pets or food to the area. After a lot of running and laughing, my son's eyes do get a little red from the chlorine, so wear glasses or goggles if you want to avoid this. Right next to the splash pad is the playground. I'm so glad that it is covered, so we can go when it's sunny outside, but not too hot. The playground is a good place for the kiddo to either warm up or cool down before the splash pad. I would say the splash pad is such a fun distraction that my son spends the majority of his time at the splash pad and the playground is just a second thought. It's never super crowded even on the weekends. Perfect amount of kids playing around. There's a nice private parking lot right next to the splash pad. I'll be back with the family again and again.

What it lacks in parking (you have to park on the side of the street), it makes up for in charm and serenity. This park is settled in a nice quiet part of the Oakhurst area, surrounded by very well landscaped homes, and is considered a gem to the community surrounding it (local events are sometimes held here, see URL attached). If you have small children, I encourage you to spend a nice afternoon there and have a picnic (charcoal grills and picnic tables are also available). Or if you picked up a sandwich from White Eagle Deli, I couldn't think of a more perfect spot to enjoy your lunch outside.
