Beautiful Bar- lunch moderate as is dinner based on selections! Really nice dining space.
    Susan W.

The bartender who also took our order was very professional. He made our dining experience pleasant. We had not tried Firewood Grill which is one of the newer establishments in Howell. I had previewed the menu before we went so I was prepared that it was a moderate ti high priced restaurant. They had an extensive menu and consisting of appetizers, burgers, and lunch items, comfort food and of course dinners. They also had a decent size dessert menu, a large wine list and a full bar. My dining companion ordered a Shirley Temple And I was surprised when it ended up being "bottomless". Tim make sure that he brought refills without even being asked. I ordered a Mojito end it was good. Most people probably would appreciated the amount of alcohol in it. It kind of overwhelmed the drink for me.Tim kept a good eye on us but was not intrusive at all. We decided to go ahead and have a late lunch from the dinner menu so that we would only need a snack if anything later in the evening. We did not indulge in an appetizer because the dinners all came with soup, salad, or coleslaw. My dining partner chose the New York strip steak which was a $22 item. It came with a baked potato which was readily substituted for hand cut french fries. It was ordered medium. When it arrived it was cooked properly. I was very disappointed that my dining partner only ate about a third of it. He complained that it had areas of gristle in it. He also opted for salad with ranch dressing. For my dinner I chose the Stuffed Cabbage. It seems that it is more of a northern dish as I have rarely found it on menus in Texas. My mom made delicious (galumpkis) having gotten a recipe from one of our neighbors who happened to be polish and having the knack in the patience to par boil the cabbage, make the meat and rice mixture, also a semi sweet beautiful tomato sauce and being able to roll them fitting about 40 in a large roasting pan. Anyway I consider them comfort food and was very excited to try them. They were served with mashed potatoes and I chose a salad as well with bleu cheese dressing. I'm not sure if my dressing was homemade or not but it sure was good. In fact it ended up being the best and most tasty part of my meal. The salad was fresh with Romain lettuce and some mixed greens, Shredded carrot, several grape tomatoes, cucumber and shredded cheddar cheese. It wasn't too small and it wasn't too large. The dinner came with two stuffed cabbages. The meat and rice were cooked properly and the cabbage was softened the way it is supposed to be. The problem was they were fairly tasteless and the sauce didn't help either- as it was a light red in color but I really didn't taste any tomato in it. Probably the most disappointing thing is that my mashed potatoes were instant. I ate my salad and one of the stuffed cabbages. I also need to mention that right after we sat down and we're thinking about what we wanted to drink we were asked if we would like a bread basket and some nice warm focaccia was brought out along with pats of butter. It was very good. We never made it to desert as both of us were full before we even finished our meal. I would love to see them inject more flavor into their food. Maybe even something as simple as salt and pepper would enhance the taste. I will likely try it again and try something different to see how

Stopped in for a Saturday afternoon cocktail and appetizer. We sat at the bar. Bartender was super nice. Clean inside, nice bar, outdoor seating. We had chicken tenders for an app. Nothing special. Kinda reminded me of a well cooked Tyson chicken product.

Not much good today. Manager was not helpful. Food ok. Help barely ok. Money spent better elsewhere. :(

Food and service were great, but unfortunately the cocktail prices were shockingly high - $9 for a captain and diet during happy hour...

The inside and ambiance is very nice , warm with nice outdoor seating. It's not huge so call early if you want a reservation . We sat at the bar that was very nice with very comfortable bar stools . Our bartender was very cordial and attentive as well. To start our meal we shared an order of calamari. Cooked perfectly and flavor and sauce was delicious. As for meals I ordered seafood chowder and the Raviolo, one buddy ordered the the Grouper Reuben and one the Seared Grouper . My meal soup was dialed in I LOVE SOUP year round this was terrific . As for my main meal the Raviolo was horrible. Horrible sorry but is was not good at all, and we mutually agreed. The dough was way too thick or heavy , too chewy and the meat inside was over cooked. The sauce was tasty but didn't save this overall terrible dish. My other buddies Grouper Rueben with fries was flavorless and the fries were also terrible, mushy and no flavor as well. The last meal my buddies Seared Grouper was very good , perfectly prepared and very nice presentation . We did of course need to go one more level and order desert. I love real key lime pie and who can turn down fresh cooked warm chocolate cookie and vanilla ice cream . Sorry the Key Lime Pie has work to do on the flavor it was nowhere near a Florida Keys Key Lime pie and had a weird after taste we all agree again. I have had Key Lime pie all over the country especially in Florida this was not in the same league . Now the Cookie, well show stopper delicious . Overall our meals 1/3 approval , food service was slow for being a smaller restaurant with plenty of servers. desserts 1/2 still below par on score. We agree we MIGHT go back but our bill was 180.00 not cheap for a subpar meal. Until next time

What I do love about Ann Arbor is that they balance out the drunk haunts of young adults with great restaurants and high end bars for the people looking for more than a pitcher of cheap beer. Rabbit Hole is one of those spots. Down the same little alley way as Circ Bar, this underground bar is tucked away, stone hallways and open up and lead to different openings that provide seating, a dance floor and an amazingly stocked bar. If you like bourbon you will love this spot. Our bartender was fantastic, absolutely worked with me on working out a drink. I know I took a pic of an espresso martini, but my drink was made perfect also. Another nice surprise was that it wasn't some crazy price on the drink (I mean any crazier than other places and quite cheaper than around my home), especially for Ann Arbor. Walking away from the bar is a dance floor, and surrounding it are booths in a separate rooms and tables on a level up from the dance floor. There are also two hallways that lead to more booths and tables in different areas of the bar. As you can imagine this is a huge place. We came on a Friday and it wasn't very busy, but school is out and the weather had just broke so not surprising. I really enjoyed my time and the company I was with, and I would definitely go back.

Having said that, if it had come with pickles it definitely would have amped up the flavor profile of this burger and made for a better sandwich in my opinion. Possibly something to keep in min d and ask for if you go the Burger route. Aside form the burger, I ordered an Old Fashioned with Makers Mark Bourbon as the base for my cocktail. The drink was well made and quite tasty and a deal at $11 in my opinion. Aside from the burger there were an assortment of food options that I would classify as Elevated Bar food bordering on a Bistro style Menu that looked very interesting. Nice! The bar itself has a dark vibe to it to go along with the Western accents making for a nice ambiance to enjoy your drink/food. Plenty of tables running along side their massive bar and numerous TV's scattered about to allow you to watch the big game. Staff is quite friendly with good follow up throughout the meal.
