This was the worst BBQ I have ever had the Ribs were dry and tasted like they were old. I saw them reheating the Ribs on the grill like they were cooking a Hamburger it was19 dollars for a very small half slab of ribs and then I spent ten more dollars for onion rings and cold slaw, but after I ordered the food and was waiting for the food they told me they ran out of onion rings so I got the French fries and they were very small and terrible and the cold slaw was sour and spoiled. I couldn't eat the cold slaw so I spent 30 dollars there and I might as well have thrown my 30 dollars out of my car window. I will never go too BBQ and Brew ever again! I drove past the Firewater BBQ location in Elmhurst and googled the menu to find out what they offered. The menu looked decent, so I figured I'd get around to trying it eventually. Today turned out to be that day after I drove past the new location in New Lenox. We arrived in the late afternoon on a Sunday and found the restaurant virtually empty. Sara was standing at the counter, and she greeted us warmly. She asked if we'd been there before, and when we answered no, she went over the menu with us, pointing out things we should know. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. We ordered two pulled pork sandwiches, fries, mac-n-cheese, baked beans, and two fountain drinks. The total was about $45. The pulled pork is served without BBQ sauce because each customer can choose their own type. We chose the sweet BBQ sauce, which was pretty good. The pork was tender and juicy. The portion size was generous, so I was able to save half of the sandwich for later. The fries were piping hot and delicious. The baked beans were smoky and savory versus sweet, which typically isn't my favorite, but I enjoyed them. Neither one of us liked the mac and cheese, though. It was just okay. We both took a couple of bites and pushed it to the side. Overall, the food was pretty good. I'd visit Firewater again to try the hot link or the ribs. Sara told us that some locations have smoked hot link sausage, while other locations offer the cheddar jalapeno brat. This location had the brat, which sucked because I wanted to try the hot link. Finally thought we would give Firewater a try. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Restaurant is order at the counter and sit yourself. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries , hubby had pulled pork and burnt ends with cornbread and beans. My chicken sandwich was beyond dry and the fries were reheated and cold. Hubby's cornbread was cold and dry and meat was mediocre. Restaurant adds a surcharge if paying with a credit card and asks for a tip. Definitely will not return. Next time we will give Hog Wild a try when we want BBQ. read more

This was some of the worst BBQ I've had. The ribs were tough, the wings were dried out, and everything tasted like it was slathered in liquid smoke, instead of having actually been smoked. The smoky flavor was overwhelming, even in their beans, that we described at the table as tasting like they had gasoline in them. Let's start off positive.....The abiance was decent. The service was just ok we walked in and no one greeted us the young man just stood there staring at us. My guy then just said what he wanted to order and I follwed behind him. He ordered a pulled pork sandwich and fries. I ordered the burnt ends mac n cheese it also came with corn bread as recommended by the server to be really good since this was our first time there. The food was horrible worst of the worst. Toddler portions at best but our bill was 59.00. The meat was over cooked dried out. The Bbq sauce didn't taste good. The mac n cheese had so much garlic in it to keep vampires away. Like seriously who puts garlic in mac n cheese. The corn bread had whole corn kernals which I know some people like however I am not that one. The food was Incredible and the Service was amazing. The GM (Kevin) took the time to talk to us about the wood they use and we had a great time talking with him. I was shocked at how great the food was. Once you pull into the parking lot, you smell the smoke. You don't get that with a lot BBQ places. Me and my girl ordered two full slabs of ribs. They were totally burnt. They had smothered them with barbecue sauce on top so we wouldn't notice they were super dry and completely charred on top. I mean black chard completely covered. We also ordered the burnt ends and they were horrible. I mean I've had burnt ends from firewater in Elmhurst and they were great but this place they had given us burnt ends that tasted like they were expired and they were smothered with barbecue sauce trying to mask the flavor.
