I had the best experience at Arrowhead Ales Brewing in New Lenox this week! From the moment we walked in the energy was so welcoming and worth the wait. Moya, the host, was incredibly sweet and so apologetic about the wait for a table--which honestly flew by because you could tell how well the place was being run. Once we sat down, our server Luke took amazing care of us. He was personable, attentive, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and fun. The food... WOW. Truly phenomenal. I had the Nashville wrap and my brother had the meatloaf. Everything was cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes and green beans that came with it were just as delicious--comfort food done right. What really stood out was how much the team cared--Kelly, the GM, even came by to check in and make sure everything was perfect, which says so much about the level of service here. Despite how busy it was, service never skipped a beat. That's rare. Also, the patio is such a vibe! I already can't wait to come back in the summer and hang out there. If you're anywhere near New Lenox, this place is a must-visit. Amazing food, incredible staff, and such a great atmosphere. This place is really something special! read more

i called in a to go order. No big deal right? the woman who took my order and was at the register was beyond pleasant. I had a coupon for some money off and she said she'd have to get her manager. This manager couldn't have been more rude, threw my bill down to sign and walked away. in addition, I got a nice treat when I got home--my Caesar salad had two huge stems in it. Call me crazy but pretty sure that's not supposed be in there. Everyone says "tip people in the service industry, they have a hard job" They absolutely do, but when you have an attitude and give me horrible food, I'm gonna say no. Arrowhead Ales is a huge establishment that features your standard "pub fare" with the typical offering of house-made beers. They also feature a full bar if you're looking for a refreshment besides beer. It occupies the end of a strip mall on the outskirts of southwestern suburban New Lenox, and we were with another couple looking for a new place to try with some locally made craft beer. The space is loud, and open, and also features a huge patio where they host live entertainment. This isn't the spot for a quaint night out with that special someone, so be prepared for a boisterous atmosphere with adults and kids alike. The food was all pretty good - overall - but nothing stood out. The service was slow. We were dining with friends, and weren't in any rush, but it took a long time to get food and drinks. We began ordering our beers two at a time because of the time it took to get them. That being written, the food arrived hot, so as long as you're not in a hurry... My wife ordered a Shrimp Boil - which was on special - and it was best dish out of the four we sampled. I was drinking the Wooden Chapel Schwarzbier and the others in my party were enjoying the New Lenox Pilsner and the Odessa Mexican style lager. All the beers were good, but again, none of them blew our minds. If we lived closer to Arrowhead, we would probably return for a visit, but it was about a 45 minute dive for us, and just didn't impress enough to come back. I'm sure it's a popular spot with locals. Great and charming location in Calistoga Plaza. The drinks were exquisite--we had the weekly special and the pomegranate mule. Both were very refreshing. We ordered the Calistoga Nachos with Birria (as recommended by our waiter, Jackson), and they did not disappoint. The portion size was perfect. Often, restaurants serve an overwhelming mountain of nachos you can never finish, but these were just right--loaded with all the goodies and packed with flavor. Not a single chip was left behind. For dinner, we had the Island Burger (a weekly special with pineapple and teriyaki sauce) and the Cali Chicken Club. Both entrees were rich in flavor and left nothing more to be desired. I also recommend getting the truffle chips as a side--they were incredibly savory, somewhere between a chip and a Yukon potato slice. Overall, the restaurant was both appetizing and aesthetically pleasing. Overall this place is great! I came here with my husband and it is a little busy but it is Saturday night. So we opted to sit at the Bar. My husband really enjoyed his beer choices, he opted for two of their stouts and we shared an order of cheese curds (highly recommend) Staff is friendly but you can tell they are a little bit short staffed. We were served right away but can tell the busier it got, the slower service got. Overall the place is nice, good music and fun atmosphere. Came here for Mother's Day Brunch. You usually get what you pay for, but in this case you don't. $35 a person: single lettuce salad not a salad bar. Carving station was only ham or other meat and only chicken on the buffet. No potato choice and two types of pasta, ick. I very rarely give a 2 star or less rating. My fiancée and I came in for dinner. We were quickly greeted by the hostess, who said we could wait 10 minutes for a table or sit at the bar (there were several open seats). We opted for the bar. We sat for 20 MINUTES with nobody even acknowledging us. There were 4-5 employees behind the bar constantly running into each other. 2 gentlemen sat next to us, who were quickly acknowledged. They even stopped the bartender and said we weren't helped yet and we should be waited on first Several of the employees looked like they were miserable and were having a horrible day. I evwtually got a rasnerry vagrant, whixh was good. We stayed for entrees, and i ordered the burger of the day. Recently came here on a date night since my wife reccomended me this place as to try something new. Located in a strip mall full of dog options lies this corner bar and grill. I did like that kids were welcome here and it's Boston vibes. Wasn't too noisy either. Took a while for us to get seats though it wasn't too busy. Food and drink options were a bit pricey but they had solid choices like hard cider and seasonal drinks. I tried the brisket sandwich which was great. I'm so disappointed. This place has great food and we keep giving it opportunities to get it right and they just don't. Today we went for lunch and sat at the bar. The bartender said hello then proceeded to ignore us for the next 5 minutes. We arrived right when they opened and were the ones at the bar! I finally asked if we could get a couple of beers had to wait because the person we asked was too young to pour. We finally did get drinks and ordered...a salad and a burger. After 30 minutes of waiting we inquired if lunch was on the way anytime soon, ready to just pay for the beers and leave. The food showed 32 minutes after ordering, again...a salad and a burger. They had an event was the excuse and candidly I don't care. 4 people hanging around the kitchen with nothing to do and we just wanted a quick lunch. If you can't prepare for an event and serve your lunch crowd maybe consider new management. The thing is...the food is good. But it's not enough to keep me going back. It's been like this the last several times. True to form we have dirty dishes and the kid behind the bar is doing everything to ignore those and my wallet sitting on the bar. Finally I asked for the check and he had to go get someone. One hour for a burger and a salad. Bad service every time. Being ignored erases good food. Get a new manager and serve your customers or close. Keep this up and you won't have a choice. read more

I want to start this review by stating that this place was recommended to me by several people for their food. Upon entry, the hostess stated there was a wait for inside tables. She stated that we could sit outside (it was a chilly fall night, but they had heaters), wait for a table, or sit at the bar. We opted to sit at the bar. When we first sat down, there was a lot of open seating. I saw at least 5 employees behind the bar. At first, I thought maybe some were barbacks, assisting with cleaning and cutting the garnishes. I was then confused because some of the ladies would periodically talk to customers. There was no organization. After 15 minutes, I decided to use the restroom. I saw another couple walk up. I warned them about the wait. They appreciated the tip. By the time I walked back, I saw the other couple served. I told my fiancé if they didn't approach us by the time I got back from the restroom, I was walking out. He stated that the other couple had pointed out to the bartenders that we had not been helped (thank you, nice couple!) Now, the beer I had was good! (5/5) and burger was decent (4/5). However, the poor customer service just really disappointed me. The lack of acknowledgment was just terrible. No eye contact from staff. A simple "I'll be right with you." I get it places are busy. Arrowhead Ales is a pretty nice and big brewery. It has a good size list of drafts to choose from. Some food too including burgers, fries, and other typical munchies to get in pubs. Friendly staff and it feels like a place to hang out. There's lots of TVs to watch games or whatever kinds of shows. It has a lot of beers on tap from their own brewery. It's made out here and there's all kind of styles to choose from. There's hoppy IPAs and some fruity ones too. Hard to choose. Why it choose a few of these. I like the Ahh Fuggles. It's $6 for a pint. This is an Irish Red Ale and it's pretty light and smooth. Small bites include the Sweet Potato Fries. It's $4 for a serving. This is enough for one person or maybe two. Good to munch on something while drinking. The fries are crispy and a nice thing to eat without being a lot. Bigger food options include burgers. It can get pricey at about $15 or so each. Try to save that money to get more of what's on tap if possible. read more

We split avocado rolls as an appetizer, which were delicious. i also got the caprese flatbread which was great there and also left over. I look forward to going again. There was a lot of people there but we got seated very quick and were well taken care of. Arrowhead earned an instant 5 stars with us. We stopped in for dinner the other day, but I'd been here before about a dozen years ago. Guess that was before my Yelping days. Anyways, the beer menu here is expansive with great choices. Being as it's October, I couldn't say no to an Oktoberfest. That went down fast, and seeing as I had road to drive, there wasn't going to be a part 2. If I had, I certainly would have given their imperial stout 10.5% a call. My spidey senses tell me it's probably just as good. Great food menu here as well, plenty of sandwiches and other choices. I have a love affair with bacon so the BLT was an easy pick. Good to the last bite, I think I could have eaten two! As for the aesthetics, Arrowhead has an indoor and outdoor seating area. Inside includes regular tables, bar seats and raised tables. I didn't get a great look outside but the area appeared to be fairly large. Service here was freaky fast (think Jimmy Johns). Not what you would call a date night place but a nice, clean, comfortable setting. Food menu: medium sized with a decent variety Drink menu: good choices of craft beers, wine list is above average and there are specialty mixed drinks as a nice choice too. Service: I believe our server seemed more new but did a good job trying to be attentive during the dinner. I think I bit more training and observation would help him round the edges but he was pleasant and gave a very good effort. The Food and Drinks: The beers were tasty, especially a margarita based beer that work very well. The chicken was reported as good as was the tacos. I had the bbq pork flatbread which was very tasty, definitely recommend. Price: the prices seem reasonable compared to equivalent bar/pubs in the area. Recommend: I would return to try this again. My family reserved space for about 30 people here. They gave us half of the restaurant to ourselves. We ordered some food and desert catering options which turned out wonderfully. There were wings, pulled pork, mac & cheese, cookies and mini cheesecakes. All of it was delicious. Even though the mac & cheese wasn't technically macaroni, I'll let it slide because it was delicious. Our service was also wonderful. We had our waters filled quickly and when we decided we wanted to add a huge order of chips, they got them for us quickly. When it came time to leave, they boxed up the leftovers so that we could distribute them along all of the attendees. Overall, it was a great experience. It was pretty empty for lunch, but it shouldn't be. read more

Last time I was here, I waited 40 minutes for them to serve me a raw burger, at the bar, when no one was in the place. I was obviously disappointed, and knowing that it wasn't the bartenders fault, I politely asked to speak to the manager. Unfortunately for me, the bartender is nowhere to be found because apparently she's tending to a party of 15 people at the high top by herself. That's ridiculous. Not only that, the bar is full. No one is helping her. Now I definitely know I'm not going to get great service. When the bartender finally comes back, the girlfriend and I are starving. So, she orders the poblano popper dip, and I order the chicken noodle soup to start, along with a couple drinks. Soup comes out quick. As I'm eating my soup, another couple sits down at the bar next to us and orders food and drinks. 5 mins later a waitress comes out and asks them if they ordered the poblano popper dip, they say yes. Immediately I know that it was ours. Again the bartender is nowhere to be found and the manager is washing dishes and the couple says to her, "I don't think this is ours. We ordered the nachos." INSERT EYE ROLL. Another 10 mins go by and our dip comes out. The dip was quite delicious, but not worth the wait or the $14 price tag. It's basically poblano pepper queso with tortilla chips. The amount of money they're making on that has to be at least 4 times what it costs to make it. Whatever, I'm not here to talk about prices. Back to the shit service.... We need to order food and not a single person that works here is seen in the restaurant. I don't know if they're all in the back doing whippits or what. Finally the bartender comes out. We order quesabirria tacos and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with seasoned fries. The bartender didn't hear me the first time when I said SEASONED FRIES. I told her again. SEASONED FRIES. I ordered another delicious entry level snob. Food came out in a timely manner. What came out with my chicken sandwich? Sweet potato fries. I mean, C'mon man! I don't know how hard it is to get someone's order right, in a timely manner, and cooked like it should be! I'm not asking for a lot. I'm not some asshole that demands perfection. What I do expect is services provided for services paid. Quesabirria tacos were lackluster. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was tasty and spicy, which is what I was looking for. What I wasn't looking for was the chicken to bread ratio. There was 3 times more bread than chicken. When I got my bill for everything I ordered, it was $98. Take the 2 coupons for the last shit experience, we're at $76. Not worth it. Not even close. Only reason I'd go back is because I'd be waiting for the dog to get groomed and at least the product they advertise, is as expected. read more

Got ripped off on Mother's Day. $30 a person for cold food..dry pork loin.. Poor service...was told $8 mimosa bar. Charged $8 per mimosa. 18% gratuity automatically added onto my bill...just recieved my bank statement...my original bill of $195 with 18% tip included is now $250! I was charged a 36% gratuity . With a changing menu and list of brewed beers, the menu is quite consistently good. The customer service is fantastic. As a husband and father of three, the staff is very accommodating and quite attentive, and never have to look too far for our server with a large bar and, lots of space for large parties. We just moved into Manhattan and we're looking for some local spots nearby to grab some grub. We stumbled upon this gem after seeing what was closest. They have a nice selection of craft beers on tap which was what I was in the mood for. They also have a cocktail menu as well. We started off with a couple of drinks. My beer was quite tasty. Moving on we went with an order of Brussels sprouts. I'm not going to lie these were exceptional. I would get them again in a heartbeat. For the mains we split a burger and a flat bread pizza. We love Arrowhead! We loved the restaurant that was here previously and are happy that someone even better replaced them. Everything we've tried has been delicious and my husband loves their beer.
