This place will lie to you and keep your car all day and sometimes over night just for an oil change. I have figured them out since I have been coming here for a while. They like to take cars in and leave them in the parking lot all day so they can do repairs for walk ins. When it gets a little slow they will start with the cars in the lot. I have been going to this location for a long time, even convinced other family members to start bringing their cars here. Unfortunately, they had some changes in staffing at the front of the store that has prompt me and my family to change auto service place. We have had bad costumer service for the past months and when we last took one of our cars for services, we were provided with incorrect information in regards to what needed to be fixed, including a comment saying they could find more things wrong and it would be additional. We took the car to the dealer and they did the repairs (and provided a complete scope of work) for half the price. I understand that during a diagnosis a complete scope is difficult, but the way the message was conveyed was, in my opinion, not professional. Always a pleasant experience at this Firestone in Yucaipa. Today my check engine light came on and immediately took it in to have it checked. Dave said something like we will have to hook it up to diagnostic. I was waiting for the call telling me to be prepared for a few hundred dollar repair at the least. I was told my car was ready and the check engine light was due to my gas cap being loose. I have heard this is a huge scan opportunity especially to a woman and they did the right thing..Thank you, everyone, f or your honesty and great service. Today my girlfriends and I took a trip to Oak Glen to go apple picking and get out of LA the day. Unfortunately, on our way home the tire pressure light went on. We pulled over at the closest gas station and upon inspection, instantly noticed that one of our tires was smoking. We have been using this business now for several years, bought tires other service etc. The other day we took our truck in to have a nail removed from a tire. They would not fix it and then they put our spare on, when we asked them to put the rim on that matched our other rims they said it was against the law and they could not change out the rims. They said we needed new tires which we know is coming up soon. We left took it up the street to another tire place they switched out our rim no problems. We now do not trust Firestone anymore and we believe they were just trying to sell us new tires instead of being honest, they lied. We will never use them again for anything. read more

Today (5-24-20) I went into the Firestone center on Yucaipa Blvd, in Yucaipa. I was there at ~10:10 am and there were two guys writing up service orders and each had one customer. Neither said anything to me when I arrived, not even when one of them walked past me to go get the mileage of a vehicle. Then, when the other guy finished with his customer he took off his mask and talked to the remaining customer, whom he seemed to know. He said, "I'm so done with these masks" but then put it back on and returned to his paperwork, still without acknowledging me. Even before taking the mask off, he barely had it on such that it wasn't covering his nose and only partially covered his mouth. My conclusion was that Firestone doesn't need my business, so I left. I give then 'no stars' for making 'no effort' but this site wouldn't post without showing at least one star. read more

This is so disappointing, after loving this place for there fast and honest repairs, I was extremely disappointed that they charged a 99 dollar "diagnosis" fee even after doing they repair. I totally understand charging that if I had not done the repair. With the 5 other time I have had my vehicle worked on here they have never changed this before. I went there today to get my large 35" tires rebalanced after having a wobble in my steering wheel. I had tried rotating tires and also gone to another store and got the 'balanced' there. I guess their stores balancer was out of calibration because I still had a bad steering wobble. I chose this store because they have a road force balancer which is a more exact balancing machine compared to a dynamic balancer. I was just a walk in woth no appointment and they were able to get my truck up on the rack within an hour. I then had the pleasure of meeting Jose who would be the tech that worked on my truck. His attention to detail was amazing. From the small stuff like checking the truck on the rack to make sure it wouldn't fall off, to even balancing there wheels twice, once with the existing weights on them and then again to actually get them balanced. Turns out one wheel was over 4.5 ounces shy of being balanced and all the wheels were at least 2 ounces off of balance. He then put the wheels back on and put the lug nuts on by hand (most shops jam them on with their impact usually resulting in cross threading) and then actually checking the manual to see the correct torque for the lug nuts and using a torque wrench to get them to the correct torque. Because of Jose I will definitely be back when I need new tires. If they go into that much detail for a basic balance, they will for sure take care of all your needs. I have come home to find oil all over the engine. Further examination, oil all over top of the hood, wipe marks to hide mess. Nobody said anything about it until I called down there. "We had an accident, next oil change is free." My wife took her car in weeks later, oil all over undercarraige of car, and now on our nice driveway. They get two stars because they are nice people. My grandfather just had his brakes done maybe three months ago and has not even put on 1000 miles on this vehicle since, and we also turned the rotors.. so he went to fire stone for something else and they told him they did a test on the vehicle and it needs new brake pads and rotors. Not remembering that we just did them, and he wanted to be safe in his vehicle being told lies by the technician Gary, he told them to go ahead and do the work. He ended up waiting there for the vehicle and when vehicle was ready to go they gave him the rotors only that were recently turned and there's nothing wrong with them plenty of meat, and when he asked for the brake pads they said we have to return them for warranty purposes; SAY WHAT.!.? You have to return somebody else's brand new brake pads for warranty for your company? That makes no sense. I am guessing they did not even change the pads or took them because he would realize they were brand new - and not want to pay. Either way this is horrible financial abuse with elderly going on in our town of Yucaipa. The total for the bill that they charged him to do the new pads and rotors was $440 when brand new rotors cost $55 at the dealership and it maybe takes 10 minutes each side to change it out. This is completely ridiculous taking advantage of people and lying to them.! I will be taking off their new rotors and possibly our old brakes to take both of them for a refund. And also I will be getting a hold of better business Bureau and corporate office as well as leaving other reviews on other websites and cocktails in other companies that deal with elderly abuse read more

This is based on me and my wife's experience with how they handlers our brakes. The tires and oil change we got are ok. So they said we needed front and rear brakes and that there was only 90% of pads left. This was on a Sunday and we wanted all of the done then. They didn't have the pads in stock so my wife had to come back the next day. Then they say they can only do the front because we have a digital ebrake; that almost all new cars have btw. They say we are ok to drive it and that there is still 10 percent left. At this point I'm pissed. Today my wife takes her car to the Redlands location because they have what's needed for the digital ebrake. She gets over there and they tell use we are metal to metal in the back. So how does it go from having 10 percent left in the back, to metal in 1 day? Good for basic service only: I've used them for oil changes since they opened up on Yucaipa BL, and have always had a good experience. I also bought Tires from Tire Rack and had them shipped and installed here, easy as pie. Five stars for both of those. The problem came with actual auto repairs, which gets one star for being ridiculously overpriced. They quoted almost $3000 for work I later had done at Alan Grubel's for $800, and the car is running and handling perfectly now. It sure pays to get a second estimate. read more

I write this as I sit in their waiting area, small, but with comfortable chairs and some coffee you'd expect from a auto repair shop. What truly makes the 5 star rating, which I would seldom give out freely, is due to a man named Gary, the store manager. While he may rub some the wrong way, he is a man of true customer service. I have nothing but great adjectives to describe his level of service. Say what you will about prices and order wise (which they do have fair prices), you cannot beat Gary's customer service level. We took our vehicle in for an alignment because it was pulling to one side. They call us to pick up and tell us we need new tires soon, but can go for a while with the current tires. I drive it home and it pulls to the side, just the same. I go back to ask if they can look at it because whatever they did isnt fixing the problem. He says that I need new tires, to fix the pull to the side. He continues to say thing that don't make sense, like that it didn't need the alignment, why would he do something that it didn't need? And that he didn't charge me for the alignment, but it's on my invoice! My husband had to rotate the tires when we got home..because they didn't even do that with the alignment, we can tell because the tires are marked. Will not go there again. read more

Most impressive though, after a recent brake job I noticed a hub cap missing. I went back, they looked and could not find it. They said they would find it or get a new one for me. I took my 2015 Nissan Murano in thinking that it needed shocks and struts and Dan at Firestone arranged for an assessment. The cost of new shocks and struts was substantial. Their assessment found that the shocks and struts were still in good condition but my tires were wearing out and I needed a front end alignment. In 2016 I purchased a great service from Firestone in which for less then $100 I received life time alignments and tire rotations for my car. Turned out that all I needed was rear breaks, tire rotation and front alignment. Firestone has always done good work when servicing my car. I am especially appreciative of Dan and his honesty about the condition of my car. He could have put new shocks and struts on my car, even though they weren't needed which would have cost me $1,400.00. Lets start off with a rating on Customer Service: FIVE STARS! This story begins on a Tuesday and ends on the following Wednesday. I needed an oil change: I took my car in on Tuesday evening around 5:00pm (they close at 7:00pm), I asked if they had time-Yes we do! 7:00pm approaching I walk in and they were just finishing up. I heard the tech say, hey boss its still leaking oil...boss says its ok, "its just residual oil." I thought hmm that's not good but lets listen to the "boss." I went home parked in my driveway and went inside. I had a feeling I should go check under my car, just to be sure it wasn't still leaking! Wow- to find oil ALL over my driveway!, I called at 6:59pm (they answered- I was surprised and Very upset). They said bring it in in the morning and we will fix it. I did (between juggling plumber, infant and life). They said, Good to go! No more issues. I said ok, what about my driveway, they said well we have some cleaner we can give you- I was upset again, so they said you know what we apologize we will have someone come clean your driveway. I great-fully obliged to this offer. Now, they did offer me a refund originally $46, I said I don't want the refund, if you did the job and its fixed then no need to refund. Then, I get home and it is stilllllll leaking!!! Took it back in and they said, it is not actually leaking. It is because the oil got everywhere, it is dripping from all the nooks and crannys of the car. Well geez! So, they offered to power wash my engine if I left the vehicle. I did! Next day (now Thursday or Friday??) ***My car engine was fully cleaned and no longer dripping oil! I am now a happy woman! They set up the appointment for Thursday to have the driveway cleaned, and they came one day early. My driveway is back in original, (or better) condition since the company power washed it. Dan is the guy that made all this happen, he apologized multiple times and finally I caved on the refund because of the amount of time I spent dealing with a "simple" oil change. Dan and I had many conversations on owning up to what is right and how to handle situations like this. It started the minute the boss said to the tech, "its residual" that turned into a headache for me and everyone involved. We all work in this town and we all see each other in our daily lives, if you do right by each other you won't duck at the grocery store when you see your customers, lol. I like Firestone's customer service, I like Dan, I like the way the company operates, I just don't like the way this situation was handled on night #1. If the boss would have said, Nicole, we messed up. We need a day to fix it-I would have understood. Life is full of making mistakes, owning up and then fixing the mistake. They gave me a list of deficiencies with my car and they could've tried to sell me new tires or air filter or replace my burnt out headlamp. they could've even tried to see me a new oil pan bolt (i rounded off one of the corners and the mechanic was in there for a second fighting with the thing) but there was no pressure on any of it. I went here because i had a coupon for a free oil change. the -1 star is because, last time i paid someone else to change my oil i think it was about $24. these guys wanted $41 which is pretty steep and it kinda makes me wonder if they overcharge for an oil change, i wonder how much a brake job or re-alignment would cost... read more

I have been a long time customer of Firestone for almost twenty years and four different vehicles. I have been impressed with their quality work and service up until this year. I do not know if the company was bought out, but I have begun to see that they are no longer the price to beat and their quality of work has gone down. My last brake job only lasted 29,000 miles of moderate daily freeway driving because they failed to lube the sliding pin to make sure that the calipers would open correctly and not rub. Needless to say I noticed it in the mileage as well. They said I needed a fuel injection clean. NOT! This last time was the last straw. I took it to them for new struts and shocks. I acted like I did not know the difference between a shock and a strut. When they called it was with a total price tag of $1,600 and change. I had already called around. Les Schwab had quoted me $780 lifetime parts and labor. Even Pep Boys was lower at $1,180. Carl's Automotive, a single-owner mom and pop garage, the kind of place that you expect to get gamed, came in at just under a grand. When you are almost $900 dollars more than the competition, you are gaming the customer. Don't go there. These guys will rip you off. read more
