I will not be returning to this Firestone location. On multiple visits, I felt like I was being pushed toward additional repairs and replacements that I did not actually need. The first time, I came in for an AC issue. I mentioned that I believed the blower motor resistor was the problem, but I was told the issue was related to wiring instead. I declined the repair, and later confirmed that the blower motor resistor was in fact the issue. On another visit after a tire blowout, I only wanted to replace the damaged tire because the other tires were still fairly new. However, I was strongly encouraged to replace three tires as well as purchase a new battery. I ultimately replaced only the one tire and decided to get a second opinion before spending money on the battery. I later went to another shop for an oil change and asked them to check the battery, and they confirmed that it was completely fine and did not need replacement. I understand that repair recommendations can differ between shops, but having multiple experiences where I was advised to purchase additional parts and services that later turned out to be unnecessary made me lose confidence in this location. As someone who has since learned more about vehicle repairs and maintenance, I am glad I sought second opinions before authorizing the work. Based on my experiences, I would recommend that customers get a second opinion before agreeing to costly repairs or replacements recommended at this shop. read more

I went to Firestone a couple days ago for an oil change and to check out an additional concern. Come to find out the additional concern wasn't anything to worry about.... but the lady at the front desk told me there were other additional issues such as both rear and front brakes needed to be done, a fluid exchange and tires (which I did need) but they charge such an obscene amount of money why pay $1000 when I can pay $500 at my local mechanic shop, not just that I know that they're being honest. Long story short I got a quote of $3900! The lady at the desk kept telling me that I shouldn't leave without getting both brakes done and new tires . I ended up only getting the oil change. Two days later, I take it to our local mechanic come to find out I have 75% pads on the rear and 50% pads on the front!!! all I needed was tires... This is the second time that Firestone has tried to burn me not the same location, but a location in California. Firestone needs to do wayyyy better!! Moving forward I will never step foot in a fire stone again. I can't trust what I'm being told and it happens way too often!! I have came to this Firestone location for my last 3 maintenance needs for my car. They are always very prompt with their service and they are always accommodating for people with busy schedules such as myself. I have never had a problem with scheduling appointments or even walking in with short notice. Whenever I am here, they always greet me with a warm smile. The staff here are the best, especially Devon and Shamani! I couldn't appreciate their help even more! I will definitely be coming here more in the future. I was towed in to patch a flat tire on a 2023 Tesla model Y with less than 2000 miles on it , after a 45 min wait devon calls me and states that i needed a new tire and that my tire was damaged from the inside ! Complete BS , they wanted to take advantage of the fact that the car was not drivable and had no spare to push the sale on me , they did not even remove the tire from the Rim and they alleged that the tire was damaged cause i drove the car with a flat tire, which of course i didnt , i asked for a plug or a patch cause i knew there was a nail which they removed ( the patch was $32) devon refused and said it is against their company policy to patch a damaged tire ! I had been a regular in the Wayne, NJ branch for some time. On 11/2/20, I noticed my hood latch was not working properly and didn't want to have any issues getting home safely that night. So, I got an appointment at 2pm, brought my car in and got the usual recommendations to add on to the service. Since I'm there, might as well, right? 5 hours later, got everything they recommended done right at closing, thanked them for their help and got my keys. Once I got to my car, I noticed that my hood is still loose. The main reason I went there and it wasn't taken care of. I thought it would have been an easy fix for them, but they didn't even bother. I arrived for my 1pm scheduled service appointment (oil change, alignment, tire repair) at 12:45. I checked in, gave my keys to Deon at the counter, and was told it would be an hour, maybe 1.5 hours, so I waited. I didn't get in my car to leave until 4:50. For those keeping score, that's over 4 hours at this hellhole. That's ridiculous. I went to the guy at the counter (Gerald) to complain prior to getting my car back, and he told me and other patrons that he was "right on top of it" and that this service takes a while. When I told him that this service takes roughly 1 hour at my other Firestone (Haledon), he said it was because of the holiday. Really? Christmas is a week away, guy. Try again. All the while, he was on his personal phone, disappearing every ten minutes, and clearly not marshaling the mechanics to get the work done. Deon told me I wouldn't be charged for my service (which was greatly appreciated). Then Gerald tried to claim credit for this decision. Since Deon was the only one who actually apologized for the horrible service, I give him full credit. I'll never go to this location ever again, however. It's utter trash. read more

DON'T GO HERE!! I thought this place was good, but apparently they're crooks. I brought my car here multiple times to get just a simple oil change and tire rotations because it's close to where I work. Then all of a sudden I notice my passenger side front tire is old and worn out and the wheel is completly different. I ended up losing my hubcap and the reason for that is because the wheel/rim itself is for a different car and not for mine. No wonder my car was shaking. My tire was also switched. I bought four tires from Costco, funny enough firestone tires, and they switched it out also, one with worse tread and really worn out. Some off brand tire. This Firestone location was also nearby, called them, they said "no problem, come on by". So I went there on my way home from work. Ebony at the counter was super friendly and totally professional. Not sure how long I waited while they checked out my tires, I just hung out in their waiting area and did some work. They found no issues with my tires, just topped up the air in all of them, and sent me on my way. Didn't even charge me anything. Went in for an alignment. Says I need 2 wheel hubs, 2 tie rod ends and a steering stabilizer. Writes me up a repair order which shows parts, part number and how much per part. I look up part numbers on invoice he printed out only to see they are Pep Boys parts which I'm ok with. The problem I have is 1 wheel hub is 74.99 from Pep Boys. Why was he trying to charge me 215.99 each hub! That's 141 more than each hub costs! And he price gouged each and every part by more than 2x the actual cost. So if you're looking to be taking advantage of then please go to Firestone auto. I have paper print out and receipts of what parts really cost. Please don't use this store, they add extra bogus fees onto the bill. I was charged extra 6.00 for shop supplies. I only had two tires and installed and wheel alignment. I already paid the installation fees, why should I have to pay extra fees that they add to the bottom of the bill. I had to call the police before they agreed to remove the fees, do your self a favor and go else where. I paid 220 dollars for two tires and another 100 dollars for alignment, installation and tax. I called to make an appointment for my rear tires to be replaced. I spoke with Gerald who made the appointment and verified the tires would be in his store when I arrived. When I got there, the employee (Keith) receiving me into the store made a joke about Gerald no longer working there and proceeded to take me information and keys. This was Monday, around 3:10PM. I was told the car would be ready around 5:30PM. I walked around Willowbrook Mall for about two hours. I had received no phone calls. When I returned to the store, my car was in a service bay, but not lifted. It looked finished. I went to the counter and met with Keith. This was around 5:20PM. I noticed my car being backed out of the service bay. I thought I would be handed my keys and receipt and be on my way. Keith asks me which type of alignment I would like for the car? I said I would come in another day for that a I was now running late. He told me, "it was already on the rack." I felt cornered, as if I could not leave without an alignment. I chose the one-time alignment. After that was completed, I saw my car being parked in a outside parking spot, where the protective plastic was removed from the seat and the keys were brought into Keith. After much delay in trying to pay with a check (the online/telephone approval process was slow, forcing me to use my credit card), I walk to my car, only to notice my rear tires had indeed NOT BEEN CHANGED. They did the fronts. I had to go back in and complain. In only fifteen minutes, the technician was able to remove all four wheels, place the fresh tires on the rear, unmount the old rear tires and remount the original front tires and balance them and reattach them to the car. I now need to discuss some kind of restitution with the manager, who was not present during my ordeal. I am not happy. read more

This place is a rip off. I asked them to check my brakes. Which I already know needs to be replaced I already had a quote from another shop on the work that needed to be done. They came back with a $1700 estimate for my disc brakes x 4 brake pads and to change the calipers on the car. And they gave me an estimate on a bunch of other things my car does not need that brought it up to a grand total of $3,270.68. Absolutely NOT I said. When the manager tried to give me the sales pitch of well if you can get a lower price then $1700 for the work on your breaks we will match it. My response was I already have a quote from another service place at $800-$1000. And I only need one caliper replaced. If I needed all four done how can I stop my car driving to Firestone and leaving there to go get it service else where? I was born at night not last night. This place is a rip off think about 4 disc brakes are $55.00 each. Brake pads are $30-35 each. Brake shoe $50.00, 1 caliper $135.00 shop service industries standard $135-$175. Even if they double on parts it's no where near $1700!!! I went to Quality auto center on Bloomfield Ave and got the work done for $1,035.00!!! let me start by giving you a fair warning. Do not take your car to this firestone. Report this shop. They are stealing from everyone. What they do at this location is they charge the absolute maximum that they can legally charge you. They never look for the actual issue even when you pay for a FULL diagnosis. They will change part after part before getting to the actual issue. A month ago I had my car towed to this location and they told me the problem was the battery and spark plugs. 1000 dollar charge. This is an astronomical charge for both, which I could have just done myself. The SAME NiGHT my check engine light comes on. I bring my car to the shop and they tell me my car converter and oxygen sensors are bad. The manager Devon says it's gonna cost 2,800 dollars. I asked him is this for the parts?? He said yes. I said no, I'm asking you is this the cost of the parts. This man shook in his boots and said "oh sorry no" and turned the computer screen to show me the cost of the parts and labor. 1200 dollars for the parts. 1,600 in labor. I told him I'll get it done somewhere else got my keys back and left. I paid them at least 100 dollars for a full engine diagnosis and they did not find the actual issue with my car. They just changed parts and charged me. About two weeks later my battery light comes on in my car. I call them and explain that they need to figure out what's going on because they are the ones who diagnosed my car and have me the battery. I check the battery myself and I know it does not have enough power. when I bring it in a man at the counter says he will check my car for free. An hour later the same man calls me back saying he has to charge me 100 dollars to check my car. I explained that there should be no charge because I already paid them for diagnosis and they refused to work on my car unless I pod the 100 dollars. Now they don't know that I checked the battery myself and I'm sure there is an issue with it because it doesn't not have the correct power output. what truly blows my mind is that when I go to pick up my car because they refuse to check the battery that they made me pay for to put in my car but it says on their window that they check batteries for FREE. What's worse is when I walk in there's 3 guys at the counter doing NOtHING. the same guy I gave my keys to in the morning was still in the same exact poistion leaned over the counter doing NOTHING. I told them what I was there for and they told me to wait for devon. You mean Devon the guy who tried to lie to me about the cost of the parts for my car? nope. I got my keys and got out of there. A couple hours later my car breaks down before I can even get it to another hopefully more RELIABLE and honest mechanic. I gave these guys a thousand dollars for them to not fix the issue with my car and they put me even more in the hole.
