I have been a customer for years at Firestone both through my company's Fleet service and my personal vehicles because of the customer service I received with the Fleet service. Before moving here, I have had nothing but positive reviews for the One in Plano Tx and the one in Mansfield Tx. Both my car and my truck all the tires have come from Firestone, and the only work I ever had done on my truck was at Firestone. I set up an appointment yesterday 9-22-23 for today 9-23-23 at the Firestone in Slidell La at 1350 Gause Blvd, Slidell, LA 70458 for 9:00 AM . I dropped my truck off at 8:30 AM and observed what vehicles were in the Bays and which vehicles were in the parking lot. The "manager" who I would later find out to be Ronald, was talking to another customer. Telling a story to him, I waited patiently, after the customer left he finally acknowledged that I was there and asked me if he could help me, in the middle of this process a news story came on the tv and he stopped helping me to watch the news, back to helping me again stopping to watch the news and commenting on the story. Never once did he tell me how long it would take, or anything other than "we will get it looked at" Now previously at another store I went in and was waiting my turn and the customer in front of me was told it would take a couple hours to get to, when it became my turn I asked how long and the gentleman there told me right away because you have an appointment. Back to this store. I leave my car and my wife and myself go and have lunch do some things and it is getting to be 1PM - 4 hours after my scheduled appointment, no one has called. So we stop back by. My car is sitting in the bay, the car in the front bay is not the one from the morning. Mind you I am supposed to have a simple diagnostic. I ask the "manager" if my car has even been looked at, he replies he doesn't know. He looks on his board and right outside his office and the work order is not there. He tells me it is in the bay, I ask him again has it been looked at. He again replies he doesn't know. He goes out and comes back and says no it hasn't been looked at , that there were other vehicles ahead of mine. I angrily told him I had an appointment at 9 am. He tells me that appointment is to drop off only, that is not how it works. I tell him I have dealt with Firestone for years that is how it works, to get me my keys. I ask him who is the manager. He replies that would be me, then I ask him, who is his boss that is who I want to talk to. He replies I will give you his name and number. When I go out to get my truck, out of the ear shot of the customers I again ask him for his bosses contact, he tells me to figure it out. I said really that is what you have to say to me, I will figure it out. He then yells at me that I will figure out that it all comes back to him. He refused to tell me his name or give me his bosses name. I had to get his name "Ronald" and His bosses name "Chris" from the 800 number. I am awaiting a call back from "Chris" supposedly. What he doesn't know is that I just moved here to start a major project, We have 90+ f-150's and f-250's that his store would have been doing the oil changes and tires on for the next 7 years. Depending on how his boss handles this I am also considering canceling my account and credit card completely with Firestone. I wouldn't let "Ronald" service anything of mine if they were giving the service away. I have worked and provided customer service for my entire life, this guy is a horrible manager and doesn't know the meaning of customer service. He is a liar and a hothead. I should have read the reviews before going to this store. It make me wonder how someone like that keeps his job? My case# through firestone is 2764686 all of my contact information is there. if i could give 0 stars i would. broke down on the highway and got my car towed there and had them run an engine diagnostic and they said it was my fuel pump and to fix it would be $752 so i called later and told them im going to a different place for my car and that im going to get my car towed there and instead of telling me my car was drivable they decided to tell the tow guy that and cost me an extra $110 thennnn they were mad that i didn't want them to fix my car so they reset the computer so the new place couldn't read it, they were finally able to read it over half the day and it wasn't even the fuel pump that was wrong so they actually did a faulty diagnostic read more

People who are not educated in the auto-repair business should completely avoid this place at all costs. My ex Wife went in because her fan was running excessively. they're diagnosis said that the thermostat was stuck in the open position. ( Not an emergency repair by any means) They charged her $267.73 in parts and $347 in labor for total of $642 for a new thermostat. (They are $55.99 @ O'reilly's right down the street where my wife thinks they got the part from) And a $109 from a dealership. $347 in labor (2 hrs). Remove three bolts easily accessible at the top of the motor and put thermostat on. Maybe an hour job at best. read more

Made a 1pm appointment to have t battery checked and replaced if needed. I told them I have another appointment at 3. They said they can't guarantee they can get to it by then. Then why take appointments? I'm so frustrated with all these cars places. They shouldn't take appointments except for a day not a time of they aren't going to honor it. They have no inside seating only outside in the sun. No soft drink or snack machines. This place is the pits. I scheduled an appointment at approximately 9:30 am this morning. I was told to bring my vehicle in at 2:00 pm. The appointment mysteriously disappeared from the system. Hailey, who works the front counter at Firestone, stated she didn't know who I spoke with and refused to state what other female was working with her this morning. Hailey also could not comprehend that my time was wasted waiting for an appointment that didn't exist. I understand mistakes happen, but when you handle the situation like I'm inconveniencing you by complaining, we have a problem. Horrible. Went in last week TWICE. They didn't have time to do it for me. That's fine. Whatever. Told me they are opened at 7am on Friday, so naturally I brought my car to them that morning around 6:50. Called them at 10am and asked if they had finished. No. They couldn't. Okay. Called them back at 4pm. What did they say? They said they couldn't do it for us today. If we wanted to, we can leave it overnight and get it the next morning OR just come and get it. OR even better, come back next week. They didn't want to call us to let us know until 5pm. They close at 8pm. They were short on workers but that's fine. HOWEVER, they could've at least called us and told us they were backed up. We only have one car and had to take off of work today. We bought a lifetime alignment from them. Decided to ignore it hoping it would just go away (because that's always a good plan, right?) 2. Call my brother to ask him if he knew what the sound meant. That call went like this: Me-"something is wrong with my car. It's making a weird noise." Brother-"what kind of noise is it making? Can you make it for me?" Me-"sure, it's like 'greeeeaaatchhh' when I press the brake." Brother-"what does it sound like again?" Me-"GREEEEEAAATCHHHH". Brother-"hmmm, make the noise one more time." Me-"GREEEEAAATCHHHHHHH!" Brother-(and all of his buddies at work) all laughing like fools...because he put me on speaker so that all of them could hear my ridiculous noise. Grrrr. Thanks, bro. He wasn't sure but he thought it was the brake pads that needed to be replaced and said to call our dad. My dad pretty much confirmed what my brother said and told me exactly what to go in and say and made me repeat it back to him because "if you sound like you don't know what you're talking about they might try to screw you over and if that happens I'll have to drive there and kill someone." LOL. Anyway, the guys at Firestone diagnosed the problem and all are professional and courteous. As I write this review I'm waiting on my new front brake pads. The waiting room is nice and has plenty of places to sit and wait and there's complimentary coffee and water. They also have a vending machine for a snack should you want one. Brought car in at about 8:30 in morning to have a tire repaired. Before noon, my car was hanging on the rack. At 2:15 they shop called to say I needed to replace the tire. I said no thanks, At 3:15 - after waiting in a line because of only 1 person working the register and 6 people in the line, car still hanging. Had to wait for the tire to get put back on the car and then was told the tire would only hold air for about 10 minutes. The tire had a slow leak for 3 weeks and now in the rain at the end of the day, I had to quickly drive the car to another shop to spend the night. UUGH! This is the 3rd time something like this has happened at this Firestone. In the past, with other cars, I just said "never again" but because of convenience I tried again with this company. I made an appointment for an oil change and arrived 10 minutes early and it took almost TWO hours for the oil change to be completed. I'm not sure how making an appointment is supposed to save time, as I was put in the line as a walk-in. Also... one of the staff members parks his car in coned off handicap spot. I made an appointment for maintenance service on my vehicle with for 10am by Matt. I arrived at 9:50am, it was 10:15 before the gentleman help someone else decided to ask someone to come to the front desk and help me. The gentleman helping me didn't see my appointment in the system (This is the 2nd time this has happened) and informed me they had 11 cars in front of me. I understand places get busy, which is why I made an appointment. This place is unorganized and seem to always be short staffed. Since GM nuked the Saturn line, I had to find another place for car maintenance. This place is the best for nearly all your needs. Staff is helpful and friendly, just recently diagnosed a problem with my AC fan and told me what was needed to get that straightened up. This place is garbage and the service is horrible. My wife brought her car there to have the rear tires replaced and the put the wrong size tires on it. When I brought it back the next day they told me they put what we asked for on it. What they did was put the tire size that belonged on the front on the back because someone hit the wrong button on the computer. So we ended up buying four tires when we really only needed two. David Crain and the entire team have steadfast integrity and stand behind their work. Our car broke down on military cross country move. They quickly got us in for repairs. During repairs an accident happened that they accepted instead of trying to say it was an additional problem. The team worked diligently to repair issue and got us back on the road by the end of the day. I also observed how they talked to customers and with each other as I waited for the repairs. Every interaction was focused on safety for the customer and understanding of the financial needs of the customers.
