Came here a month ago for a patch in the tire and took almost 3 hours !!! They had my car ready for 30 Minutes sitting at the front and they had told me with attitude they were getting paper work done first. What paperwork takes 30minutes for a patch. Not only that when I was waiting I notice the salesman or what ever his role is at the front. He pressures people to buy things he tried getting onto my head saying my car needed new tires BUT my car only has 23k miles was he insane to even recommend that plus I drive very good so I didn't understand his concern. I removed my flat from my car. While dropping off the flat tire for repair (drop off bc 90 minute wait to plug it) I watched and listened to a disgruntled customer be treated like garbage by what appeared to be a manager. She then belittled a garage employee and had him help me. Return next morning to pick up the tire. It took 25 minutes to straighten out the billing - at drop off they did not need my name (WTH!) luckily I took a photo of the screen. To remove the mini spare tire and put on the repaired tire I was told it would "less than an hour". Not less than hour total - after 25 minutes of nonsense - from that point onward "less than an hour". My 12 year old daughter can probably also get the work done in "less than an hour". read more

I normally use Firestone in my city, been going there for years, but I was out of my area with a slow leak tire, so I visit to this Schaumburg location. In short... I wanted 4 tires and I found 4 tires on their website, made an appointment and showed up on time. When I got there, they told me they only had 1 tire available. I couldn't believe it, plus, they couldn't compensate me in any way reasonable, so I grabbed my keys and called Discount Tires, they were able to stay open til i got there, they had 4 tires at a better price and I'm happy again with a "New set of tires smile on my face!" Overpriced maintenance for a tire replacement. Quoted $115 on the phone and was charged $135. They also only "check" the alignment of your car, if you want it actually completed it will be an additional $100 dollar charge. Scheduled appointment for oil change and bulb replacement for my 2017 car. Went in on lunch hour to drop off--literally no one there to help--had one young man finally come out to ask if he could help and was told for an oil change it would be $89.98 and for each bulb it will be $99. I laughed at home took my keys back and left. First of all--I'm not a moron--I know how much things are and when I mentioned it he said "the viscosity needs of my vehicle blah blah blah" to which I said it was a low mileage vehicle that needs a standard oil change that is not more than $30. I do not even think this place deserves a 1 star, horrible customer experience. I came to get a simple tire patch and took almost 2 hours. When I called before arrival I was told it takes 40-45 minutes. I got told my nail is in an angle there for I need new tires. I said my nail is in middle tread so I know it's patchable Diego lied and said it's not. I understand if it's in the side wall and advised I work in the same industry for a living. He advised I have to follow the tire chart and kept saying according to this it's not. I pointed and said the chart on the box clearly states it is patchable. 15 minutes later he took me to the back and says you see it's not patchable at all. I said can you educate me on your process and was declined by it, When I asked for the nail, I was told I needed to go back inside and he cannot show it to me. He starts laughing as he says that. I understand if they are extremely busy and to which they were not busy at all. Even a customer said the baby with us is getting exhausted you must let them go. When I asked is it safe for me to drive and if something happens will you be responsible for it? He says I notated that in clause "the tire had a nail in angle" to which I responded you never shared the clause nor went over any recommendations. He refused to write it in paper and said if tire blows up we will fix it and change it. When I asked for it in writing he refused to put it on the paperwork. When I made the payment he refused to give me the paperwork for the tire repairs. Through the payment process, I noticed and told Diego why did you change my email address? I repeatedly asked please update my email address so I can provide a proper feedback of my experience I was declined by it. He replied come tomorrow, I'll be here and I'll deal with you. I have brought my car here for a number of years, for things other than those I only trust to the dealer. They have always done a good job and I have never experienced the issues mentioned in some of the other reviews. I've used them for new tires (of course), oil and filter changes, and other work needed. The only issue I've had with them, which they resolved, was after I had to replace two tires last year. When the car was returned they did not return the donut (spare) to its place. I drove around with it in my trunk, which I don't often use, for several months. Early this month (2/2018) an engine cover of some sort dropped below the car and was dragging on the street. I work within a mile of this Firestone and dropped it off on my way to work. At the same time, my front tires were basically bald so I asked them to replace them if needed. At the time, and I was not aware, there was a coupon for $100 off if you exceeded $500 in repairs. The total came to just over $500 so they applied the coupon even though I didn't know about it. I walked to my office and the car was ready long before I left for the day. As noted above, they also put the donut away. While I think there are things I would not trust them to do, this Firestone has always done good work and charged fairly. Picked up the vehicle with no repairs done to go somewhere else. Spoke to both Ben and Ann and both were unhelpful and in particular Ann just doesn't care or communicate or provide quality service. Have been coming to this location for years with many different cars and have referred many. That is no more. I notice a real change with the way this location is ran with Ann there. They always try to upsale you and make it seem like they are providing fantastic service. On the most recent occasion, I recieved the call that my car was ready and when I went to pick it up there were new issues with the car. I took it back and then waited even longer for my vehicle. Another individual that was waiting had to bring their car back in as well. So they messed up two car repairs at the same time! I had a great experience here and would come back in a second! I had an awesome coupon for a $16 oil change and the guys there were great. The guy helping me in particular was very friendly and helpful. The only drawback, I thought an oil change would take like 15 minutes. My appointment was for 445 and they didn't take my car in until about 530! Not gonna lie, I was getting a little frustrated as I got there 5 minutes before my appointment time so ended up waiting 50 minutes to start. The waiting sucked, but everything else was fine. Prepare yourself to wait like an hour and you'll have a pleasant experience. I needed one of our tires rebalanced. I was running late, so called & spoke with Scott. He said it was no problem & to just get here when I can. Traffic was bad & I arrived a little later than planned - 30 minutes late. I told the guy (not Scott) at the counter what time my appointment was & that I'd talked with Scott, but he seemed like he was having a bad day (attitude, tone of voice). I explained the situation, that I don't really notice it, but that when my dad drove it, he said it vibrates at over 70, and also that when we took it to the dealer last week for something else, they confirmed that they need rebalancing. At this, the guy replied, "They didn't confirm that they need rebalancing." I replied that they did, & he tried to explain what they would have to do to do so. Then he said, "well, you're a half hour late, so we'll have to try to get you in when we can." Feeding on his attitude, I asked if I caught him on a bad day, because if it's that big of a deal, I can bring it back another day. He replied that it was OK, and they'll try to get to me. They got everything done in about an hour. This time though, Scott was at the counter and he checked me out. There was also another guy at the next counter and he too was kind. Pros: + lots of parking, but kinda difficult to figure out where to park +pretty easy to get to +good stuff on the TV made the time go by quicker (some nature show, then an X-sports skateboarding show). +Waiting room was comfortable and practiced social distancing. Cons: - No sign at entrance about wearing masks - No hand sanitizer ANYWHERE - No wipes (for the chairs) - First guy at the front desk was a bit rude - No wifi Summary: They seem to do good work -- I never had any real issues before with a Firestone. I went here couple of weeks ago as there was a noise coming out of my car while driving. Manager of this property "Muhammed" he looked at it and did his inspection(wasn't asked for), quoted $90 to remove(cut) the exhaust skid plate that was causing the noise which has no harm to the Car or the Engine. He recommended I get rear break pads they are very worn out and I should have them replaced immediately. Also said right headlight is out and threw in a oil change which was due. Quoted $750 for the brakes, headlight and oil change. Had me wait for 2hrs, at the checkout they did only the brakes and charged e $650. Lied that headlight and the oil change wasn't included in the initial quote and let me walk away without having the headlight replaced. I went to Jiffy Lube on Higgins later on, they removed the exhaust plate for free, it needed to be unscrewed. Checked the headlights(I checked it myself too), everything was fine. Store manager "Muhammed" lied to get money out of me. I would never go back here in my life. I hope that SOB rots in hell. No genuine auto mechanic would have let me walk away without the headlight fixed and ask for $90 for something that had to be unscrewed. They always try to get you open a credit card with them and give a list of services that's not even required in the near future just to get money out of you. read more

Had some part issues which delayed things getting done quickly, but Anne was helpful and courteous. She made the delay bearable. Appreciate her customer service on it. We were staying at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Schaumburg, IL. We had a flat tire on our departure day from the hotel. This whole debacle of the flat tire occurred on Monday, November 7, 2016. We tried getting the tired off of the van. We didn't have a jack at first and the maintenance guy of the Hampton, Jason, was so nice to give my partner a ride to get the spare tire aired up because it was low, and allowed us to use his jack that was in his SUV. Took the van to Firestone on Gold Rd. driving on the spare tire. The scam artist of a manager, Jerry, tried to scam us by saying there was something wrong with the front tire. The front tire was fine and had just been repaired for 600 bucks!!! He tried to say at first that the tire was dangerous to drive on and was wobbling. It wasn't wobbling at all!!! He said it would be 800 bucks, and my partner had applied for financing. Jerry then proceeded to say a bunch of crap about the financing, and when he declined to take the offer of fixing it after walking back. They tried to say there was all of this grease or whatever squirting from the tire. They were the ones who squirted it on the tire!!!! It appalls me, that just because a license plate is from out of town. You try to seek out those people who are having issues and say that it's a bunch of money, when in fact there isn't anything wrong with it... FURTHERMORE.....they checked a tire that I wasn't even the issue!!!!! It was the back passenger side tire!!!! Nobody to speak to and address the issue went in for an oil change walked out with a headache due to their arrogance!! If I drove at 55-70 mph for an hour on a 90+ degree day then the air pressure rises in the tire so on cold my psi is at 32 (because I regularly check and adjust) so I was possibly at 37 you just let it down to 32 when it's hot, that means that tomorrow morning before work at 5 am my tires are going to be low possibly at 27 but "Mr. Ben knows it all" - and you can't tell him otherwise! - Ms. Ann told me my front end is loose so inquired about she doesn't know then you are telling me my front end is loose but she don't know!! - Ms. Ann tells me I need a new wiper in the back. I told her I got that wiper from you last year. Ms. Ann tells me you replace them once a year. A rear wiper that barely gets used on a back window gets replaced once a year. (Maybe I should have asked her about clock positions on alternator since she is so knowledgeable) - Ms. Ann tells me I need new front tires, believe me I will not be getting them from you allready found another place not in anyway Firestone related (GOOD YEAR). -While waiting on my car and my car was just sitting there for like 30 minutes Mr. Ben is working on a white Ford Escape while mine sits there - interesting. I would leave zero stars for this place if I could. I went in for a front brake job on my vehicle on 8/2. They also performed a rear brake slide service. Within a couple of days, the brakes were knocking. I took it back on 8/6 and they said they installed a defective rotor, and claimed they replaced both rotors. I worked from home for a week or so after that, and didn't drive the car much. Once I started driving the car to work again, the brakes started grinding. I took it back on the 22nd, and the treatment I received was ridiculous. You could tell they didn't want to be bothered with me, but I insisted they check the car again. Predictably, they told me nothing was wrong with it. I took it to another local shop on 8/29, and they corrected the problem on the first try. Firestone's shoddy work would have caused my pads to prematurely wear. Also, with the noise the car was making, I would never have been able to tell if my car needed the brakes serviced in the future. My husband went back to the shop this morning to try to resolve the issue with them directly and was dismissed. My husband and I have been customers at this Firestone for over 15 years, and I typically don't write reviews, but I paid for a service and then paid more to correct their work. And my car was less safe because of their work. If you have a choice, go elsewhere. read more
