Shopping for tires for my wife's car and got a price on 4 WeatherPeak tires, the quoted price was more expensive than the price at Costco and I let them know that. Without hesitation they checked the Costco price and matched it. Being a former Bridgestone/Firestone employee, I appreciated their taking the initiative to verify the Costco price and purchased the tires from the Naperville store. This was the second Firestone store that I shopped and the other store couldn't be bothered to price match. There is a soft spot in my heart for the Firestone stores, but not enough to pay more money for the same tire offered elsewhere. If someone from corporate reads this, give the staff at this location a pat on the back for going the extra mile to get a sale. read more

I went in for failed emissions testing. I was told I need a diagnostic test, test I was charged over $1300, and told to drive 200 miles then come back, when I came back I was told I needed a catalytic converter. Why didn't they know I needed this in the first place. Before I went there I Google causes for failed emissions. It stated catalytic converter, and other reasons(so whey they said I needed something elseI was happy). Why didn't these trained mechanics know this in beginning. I have happily used Firestone until this July, when I discovered that the oil used for my Beetle's oil change was NOT the oil which Volkswagen requires. Worse yet, the threads on the pin to the oil pan had been completely stripped, and the pin was held in place by caulking alone. I had a flat tire and replaced it with the spare. I took the tire to get repaired at this Firestone. Jaun said the lug nut was "cross thread" and they broke the wheel stud off. They said Subarus are prone to this issue and Juan said they could fix this but it was it was going to cost an additional $346.08 to fix this issue. I talked to Subaru and they confirmed that this was not the case. When I went back to speak with Juan (rather arrogant) I offered to split the charge. He refused. I went down the street to have it fixed for $87.00. Horrible experience. Juan, please learn some customer service skills! read more

DO NOT GO HERE. First of all, I have no need to scam Firestone since I am an award-winning high school/college teacher; I do not need to lie and obtain money through deceit. What I want is to expose the blatant disregard for property and the dishonesty that is taking place here. Let me begin, I just came from my mechanic who can testify my car had no prior issues because I had to check my shocks prior to getting an alignment. I then took it to Firestone to align the wheels and make sure it was in working order. After I received my keys, I sat down and immediately noticed my windshield was broken. How could I have not notice it before I arrived because it is on the driver's side right by my sight of view. This windshield crack was not there before I arrived to Firestone. Then I noticed the broken sunglass holder and the two sides by the hood had bursted. After speaking to my mechanic because the hood does not open, he said that it was cause by the hood coming back when they probably test drove the car. I called the police to write down an event number; I will pursue this with their corporate office to make sure they take responsibility. The store manager stated that they have no video within their premises which I will verify with corporate to make sure. I have nothing to hide and video would clearly display the truth. read more

I brought my car to this location in September 2022 and had $4000 of work done including brakes. In January 2023 my rotors went out so I took the car back to the fire stone, They told me there was nothing wrong with it there's nothing they could do. I then went to Midas, They said my rotors were bad and had to be replaced, It was going to be $750. I called the fire stone to let them know they said, bring the car and they'll fix it. They had my car for three days fixing brakes, when I finally picked it up the manager told me that it's not under warranty because the rotors were all black and I was slamming on the brakes racing up to stop signs and stoplights. I'm a 56 year old man with a Toyota Camry what makes him think I'm racing around in Naperville ruining my brakes. He proceeded to lie to me over and over again to get me to pay for the brakes finally gave up at the end and just gave me my keys and said go get out of here. Do not go to this location. So, I brought my car their twice now. Once for an oil change, alignment and rotation. The other for brakes and an alignment. These appointments were more than 6 months apart, over a year. In both instances, when I picked my car up, the counter person said all work was completed. When I asked for the alignment chart, he then asked the service tech who admitted he did not complete the alignment. The same thing happened, exactly, the 2nd time. My conclusion: why pay for lifetime alignment, balance and rotation, if the work will not be completed. In both instances he apologized, but did not ask me if I wanted to leave the car overnight, schedule an appt, or anything. It was as if they know the alignments aren't being done and don't care. It's extra work they don't want to perform. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. read more

I brought my car to Firestone about 6 months ago to buy new tires. Once they looked at my car they stated that it would need a wheel alignment also. On that day I was in a bit of a hurry - spoke to whom I believe was Andrew. After he informed me about the alignment I told him to please just put the new tires on and based on how much time it took to do that I would decide to do the wheel alignment. He said perfect, once the tires are on I will let you know and if you have time we can add the alignment. Somehow the 4 tire installation took about about 2 hours. Once he came back to see me he informed me that the tire installation and wheel alignment are complete and I'm ready to go. I informed him about our agreement to do the tire installation only and not the alignment. He stated "since u didn't say anything that i assumed you were good on time so we should go ahead and do the alignment". At that time the work was done and I didn't want to be the person to cause drama and stay there for another 2 hours trying to fix an issue that shouldn't have happened. I explained to him that if it's done than it's done. I guess nothing I could do. We moved on to paying for the job and he asked me if I wanted warranty, I said yes and continued to ask - will the warranty cover anything that happens to my tired, including a flat or a nail, he said yes. Well on Sunday the 29th i left to Ohio which is a 5 hour drive, somehow my tire got a flat, took it to a near by Firestone and they stated that when I bought the tires I didn't get warranty. THAT really upset me because I specifically told them six months ago I wanted the warranty. I bought a new tire and made sure WARRANTY was purchased of the one tire that went flat - once I started my way back to my Naperville location my tire air pressure sensor on that right front tire stopped working. Once I took it to Firestone in Naperville and stoke to Andrew Smith - Service manager, for some reason he was a bit of a smart ass with me. I told him what happened while in Ohio and that since my tire was fixed the sensor went bad. He stated the sensor is separate from the tire so the warranty won't cover it. I asked, "even if it was installed by Firestone and the sensor is in the tire?" He proceeded to look at me as if I'm dumb and said, "no - they don't go together, the warranty won't cover it, you will have to pay for it because warranty won't". I really disliked his attitude. Obviously I still need the sensor fixed, so now they fix it today on June 1st around 9 am and I get in my car and the PSI says 32 when the correct PSI on my tire should be 37 - it says it on the driver sides door. Now I'm standing here again waiting for them to explain why it says 32 instead of 37. The worst experience with Firestone. I will never get work done by this company again. read more

i came last week for a new battery. came in one week later because the car was having issues starting. i told the intake guy i had the battery replaced by them last week. waited there for 2 hours before finally asking how much longer it would be. the guy told me it's been sitting here ready.... i received no phone call or notice. i was then told the issue was the battery. i told them i just had it replaced last week and they asked "by who?". i understandably told them they had to replace this ASAP at no charge and was told to get out! once i said i'm calling corporate they said they'd get it done right then and there. mind you, the manager is the one who told me to leave! what a joke of a shop. read more

Absolute worst experience with any automotive shop ever. If you have any respect for your self or your vehicle, please take it literally anywhere else for repairs. My husband brought his car in on Wednesday morning for two tire replacements. Wednesday afternoon, he was told that it wouldn't get done today. He arranged for a ride home and for another ride to work on Thursday. They called Thursday afternoon and said his car was done, so he got a ride to pick it up. That's when my husband was informed that they had LOST THE KEY TO HIS CAR!!! After over an hour of searching, the manager told him that a rental would be arranged until they could replace the keys. The situation was laughable at the time. Since the rental place was closed at that point, we had to arrange for another ride for him to get across town that night and the following morning. Upon arrival at the designated rental pickup location, my husband once again contacted Firestone (as previously directed, to get the rental car paid for). After an hour of waiting at the rental car location for payment, my husband was informed that Firestone wouldn't be getting him a rental after all. They said that the replacement key to his car would arrive on Saturday, and they don't do rentals for less than 3 days. But now he's gone 3 days with no car through no fault of his own, and we still don't know when he'll be getting his vehicle back for sure. This is outrageous. His car was drivable when it came into the shop, and after paying for rides to and from work all week, he'll be out nearly $100 extra dollars on top of the repairs, not to mention all the time and stress that was piled on for two routine tire replacements!! And they can't even make it right by getting him a vehicle to use while they fix their own mistake... By all means, use Firestone for your automotive service needs. Just NEVER EVER EVER use the location at Washington and Gartner in Naperville IL!!! They clearly don't give a fuck about their customers at all. read more

went here for some new tires, an oil change, and some new wiper blades. Faisal helped me set up the appointment and was extremely gracious and patient with my questions - he even gave me some info that helped me save $ on some of what i needed. the day of my appt. i called to see how they were doing on time and to make sure the tires i needed had arrived. Rich helped me with that and was also very courteous and helpful. then when i got there, Arthur checked me in. he also answered some questions i had, and set me up for a couple minor things i remembered i needed (weird stuff like lubing my door latches and replacing my lock nuts - which they added at no charge!) he was super friendly and helpful. rich also greeted me with a smile, and remembered me from calling earlier. the work was all done quickly, and the bill was exactly what i was quoted - very comparable prices compared to the discount place i went to first (where they tried to scare me into buying, then became condescending when i said i wanted to think about it first...hint: their name rhymes with "smishflount blires" and i usually like them a lot, but their manager whose name rhymes with "Mlatt" was kind of a dick.) these guys were all great - they hooked me up real good, and made my trek out into the polar vortex seem like a fun adventure. thanks, Firestone!! read more

This is supposedly less than a year old brake pads and rotors. Got them "replaced" last year and there is no brake pad on the brakes at all because they are so OLD and worn down. Not to mention the rusting rotors that are supposed to be new. Note that I don't drive long distance and only drive locally so I don't drive an obsessive amount to creat such wear on the brakes. So disappointed by how my "new" brakes and rotors look after less than a year. read more

Have been going to this Firestone for years because the have great service. Recently had our 2004 Suburban in for brake service and steering issue. The technician discovered a bad bearing and fixed the issue as well as the brakes. To the females who dislike dealing with mechanics, this firestone has been nothing but awesome. They are clear and courteous in answering questions, making suggestions, etc... I never feel like I am getting ripped off and am very confident in their work. A long while back, before going to this Firestone, I purchased tires from the NBT in Bolingbrook. Faulty tires where installed - the tires had extra material that made a thumping noise. I took the car to NBT, with warranty, but they where useless. Took the car to Firestone, who discovered the issue, explained the issue, and didn't try to sell me new tires as the issue was not a safety issue, just slightly annoying. They actually took me into the work area, showed me the defective area of the tire while the car was on the lift. I was impressed and have been going there ever since. read more

We recently purchased a used Toyota Sienna and prior to purchasing had Toyota complete an in-depth inspection. Toyota indicated it needed an alignment and had a slight leak in the rear AC that was a common problem and quoted $300 from the dealer. We took the car to this Firestone to get an alignment and for the heck of it asked to confirm the AC problem. We were told it had a bad compressor, the trans was leaking fluid and the radiator needed to be replaced, and also needed hoses replaced.Keep in mind this car was at the dealer less than 24 hours prior. We were quoted $2,500 dollars for repairs. We paid for the alignment and refused the repairs. The next day the car was still pulling to the left and discovered they never completed the alignment. Plus I put AC dye and found the leak in a simple connection that took 5 minutes charged the system and it is perfect. No leaks and the radiator is perfect with no leaks to be found. I lived in Naperville for 20 years and never wrote a review on anyone! These guys need to be out of business. They did return our money and had the car aligned at another facility who also did an inspection and found zero issues with the car. This place should be investigated. The detail that our service writer went thru to explain all the defects was simply amazing. He went on for ten minutes drawing diagrams of the systems and all the defects which was all lies. Had an issue with the engine knocking. After a diagnostic test ($100) they determined that the coils and spark plugs needed to be replaced. The estimate was for $981! The national average is between $300-$400. Bought all the tools and supplies for under $150! Had my college kids (with no experience with cars) do all the work in about an hour. I brought my car into the Firestone Complete Auto Care facility in Naperville on 9/11 for a free brake inspection. I was concerned about my brakes because the brake pedal feels spongy and the brake nearly goes all the way down to the floor boards when stopping my vehicle. Firestone told me the brake pads look fine and suggested a brake fluid flush, which I agreed to. When I came back to pick up my car and asked the manager if the brake fluid flush fixed the sponginess of my brakes, he told me that they couldn't make a determination on the sponginess of my brakes because every car is different. As this sounded like a bunch of bull$%&t, I then called another local repair shop (mom and pop) who told me to come in and upon inspection determined that master cylinder was failing. I felt like this Firestone location had no interest in fixing my problem, rather they were just interested in selling me a service. I'll never go back to a Firestone Complete Auto Care facility as long as I live. read more

I had a really good experience here on Sunday, getting new tires on the back of my car. I had priced two new tires at two other locations, and both of those places quoted over $100 more. Firestone not only took my car in at the last minute, it only took about an hour. The guys there were very professional and knowledgeable. And the tires that they put on look like, according to my bf, racing tires. Gentlemen, err, ladies, start your engines! I will definitely be back here for future auto services. It's also in a nice stripmall with Trader Joe's, a breadstore, and a cool bird feeder store, so you won't be bored waiting on your vehicle. read more

Went there to have my brakes checked on a 2010 Ford Fusion. Fully expected to have them need replacement. Firestone said no, brakes were fine, just a bit of rust. They also gave me estimates on the tread life of my tires, and changed oil, wipers, and rotated the tires. and gave the car a winter check up. Everything was professional, the car was ready quickly, and I'm happy to have a new mechanic, since I just moved to this area. read more

The fact that some people trust this joint with such important automotive maintenance tasks as oil changes and tire installations scares the hell out of me. I like to do as much of my own auto work as possible, but some things I cannot do myself. Most notably, alignments, which is why I have a lifetime alignment at Firestone. When another Firestone shop in the area told me their tech who specializes in alignments wasn't around for several more days and he would be able to finalize all adjustments (in other words the guy working on my truck didn't really know what he was doing), I took it to this one to see if there was anything THEY could do. They wouldn't even touch it at this location, telling me that that other shop has a better alignment machine. Now at the same time I had a minor exhaust leak at the compression nut that connects the EGR inlet tube to the exhaust manifold, and this nut is very easily accessible from the wheel well. But it can be notoriously tough to get off especially when cold, so I asked if he could loosen that nut, even offering to show him what exactly needs to be done. They said no. A few days later I ended up buying the correct size crow's foot to attach to my breaker bar, and was able to get it right off myself. So, to paraphrase their response to my last question: "No, we cannot turn a wrench." and the first part "No, we're too lazy to even try." I have a feeling they declined my service because they knew I was not going to let them rip me off. When it comes down to it, their business thrives on ripping off less-informed customers. I took my car in for a 2nd opinion on something that wasn't working. The Naperville Firestone thought I was naive for not recognizing the part had been broken. They were rude & condescending. They also made me uncomfortable by threatening that repairs might not be made unless I joined them in the repair area to socialize!! I just wanted my car fixed! I would warn any young lady to not go to the Naperville Firestone alone, especially teenage girls. read more

Suspicious business maneuvers. I took my car in for a few new tires. First, they delayed the install and kept my car overnight. Then, when I went to pick it up they had installed the tires on the wrong side and I started having tire pressure problems in one of the brand new tires. I called the store about the pressure issues and they said I could schedule an appointment that would be in about a week or I could bring it in for some extra air. I brought it in for air but continued to have issues with leaking so I made the appointment. After dealing with a constantly deflating tire without any puncture signs for about 2 weeks I was able to get it serviced at this location. After the repair they expected me to cover the cost citing "it had been two weeks" and "that's why we have road hazard". I don't have all the free time in the world to be able to send my car in at the business's own convenience and it really should be standard operating procedure to send your customers away with out any reason to immediately return for the same service. It was really pretty obvious that the business was attempting to take advantage of my refusal to purchase their "road hazard" program and squeeze a few extra bucks out of me. In discussing this with the manager he was initially defensive but agreed to honor the free repair. Customer service is not this business's top priority and you should not rely on them for your needs. read more
