The biggest issue is that every visit now feels like a sales pitch instead of an oil change. During my most recent visit, I was repeatedly pressured to purchase additional services. I politely declined, but I was asked again multiple times about injector cleaning and other expensive add-ons. After saying "no thank you" several times, it became frustrating. The price has also increased dramatically. My oil change was $131 this time, roughly $40-45 more than my last visit. I understand that prices go up, but the increase, combined with the constant upselling, made the experience feel like poor value. What disappointed me most was the lack of concern when I mentioned that I've been a loyal customer for many years. I explained that I wasn't happy with the direction the business has taken, but the response was essentially, "Okay," with no interest in understanding why or trying to retain a long-time customer. I realize management may have changed, but the customer-focused service that kept me coming back for years just doesn't seem to be there anymore. It's disappointing because this used to be my go-to place. Unfortunately, after this experience, I'll be looking for a new shop for future oil changes.

The mechanic tells me they stop doing inspections at 5:00 and there are two vehicles already checked in. Fair enough. I tell him I'll be back Tuesday. Tuesday at 1:15 I drove up and again asked for an inspection. The mechanic says they had a busy afternoon and he's about to leave for lunch. He tells me to come back in an hour. Fair enough. Everyone deserves a lunch break. I go back in an hour and one last time asked for an inspection. The mechanic tells me he's about to leave because he hasn't gone out to lunch yet. I asked him why he didn't just inspect my car when I was there before and his answer is "I didn't know I'd be staying". No sense of professionalism. No common courtesy. After years of doing business with this company all I got was apathy and attitude. Three different visits to this location in two days and I can't get a simple state inspection done. I will never bring any of my vehicles here again.

Because of the confidence I have in my "PAHCP," I felt comfortable taking my SUV to Lino's. My vehicle had been experiencing a shudder in the transmission -- a lack of smoothness when changing gears. Lino's checked it out and, rather than jumping straight to replacing the torque converter, suggested starting with a transmission fluid change and a high-quality additive. I had already done some online research and asked about a product called Shudder Fixx, but the mechanic explained that it can cause sludge buildup and recommended a better alternative. That's the route we took, and I noticed on the way home the shuddering has completely stopped. While inspecting the vehicle, the mechanic also noticed (and showed me a photo of) a damaged CV joint boot -- it had a hole that would soon cause the joint to lose lubricant and fail. I saw it for myself and agreed it needed replacement, so they handled that repair as well. Lino's is located on 29th Street in McAllen, just north of Business 83. Parking can be a little tight, as the lot is usually full of cars, but you can pull into the first gate and park where possible. After check-in, they'll move your vehicle as needed. The waiting area isn't fancy, but it's clean, air-conditioned, and comfortable, with a TV and remote available. Lino's prices are fair, and their service is honest and professional. I wanted reliable, and that's exactly what I got. I'm very happy with the service I received at Lino's Automatic Transmission and will definitely return if I need transmission work in the future.

I trusted them and approved the repair. I was told the vehicle would be ready in one day, but that was not true. They delayed the job for five days, giving excuses and misinformation the entire time. After finally picking up my vehicle and paying, within 5 minutes of leaving the shop, my Yukon completely broke down. My wife was left stranded on the road just 2 miles away. I had to pay for a tow truck immediately. I have photos, videos, and records of everything. When I called the shop, they stopped answering. Once I finally got a response, their explanation was that there was "another leak" and now the transmission was damaged. Their solution? Charge me an additional $1,800 in labor for a problem that clearly happened right after their work -- and refuse any kind of warranty or responsibility. One of their mechanics, Ruben, even told me to "go cry to the owner" if I wanted help. That was their level of professionalism. This situation turned my working vehicle into a major breakdown within minutes of leaving their shop. I have all the proof and will be filing complaints with the BBB and taking legal action. So my thing is if your gonna have new people, so called rookie well honestly it's managements job to oversee their work or shadow make sure all point of areas are taken care of.
