Went in to buy a new set of tires. All 4 air pressure sensors were working perfectly fine. Upon installation of the new tires the salesman tells me they no longer work. At this point I grew suspicious and he would no longer make eye contact with me. Additionally, he wanted to charge me an extra $250 for new sensors. I left without the new sensors and will never return to this store. I honestly felt scammed. read more

Shout out to the amazing staff at Discount off the frontage and Jackson in McAllen. Not that I have anything to complain about any Discount Tire at all though. Their employees are always so helpful, and very nice. I wanted to order some tires online and I was unsure of the process or where the tires would arrive for that matter so I called and the nice gentleman on the phone explained the process. A week later I made my online purchase and I set up an appointment for the weekend since I work pretty late. I received a call from another nice man notifying me that my tires were in stock and if I would like to come today instead of wait and have to be driving through bad weather. I explained I got off after 5 and he said to come right on in and as long as I was there before 6 they'd attend me. Sure enough! I arrived right at 5:45, and they were so nice and professional and I got my new tires installed in a jiffy and now my weekend will be free. Thanks yall! The prices were really good too. When I was down in McAllen for work my tires were low and I couldn't get them aired up right at a gas station so I swung in here. The guys were really nice and aired up and checked my tires for me, they found that one had a nail in it and instead of being super shady and just "trying to repair it" they admitted that it probably wasn't repairable and that if they tried to repair it, I'd probably have to replace it. Seriously if I hadn't already had a partnership with NTB which doesn't have any locations down there I would have bought a tire from them just because they were nice and honest. read more

This place defines customer service. I took my car there because one of the tires was slowly losing air. I got my car signed in quickly and was able to watch the repair through the windows into the shop area. The tech not only remounted the wheel properly and checked the lug nuts with a torque wrench, but went around the entire car and checked all of the nuts on the other wheels as well. He also checked the air in all four tires. The tech then drove my car around to the front of the store, and as he was getting out to hand me my key he noticed that one of the wheels was missing the valve cover. He sprinted back into the shop to grab me another one before I left. I am very impressed with the level of service at this place, as I also had a pleasant experience when buying new tires for a previous vehicle. Discount Tire is my go-to place for anything tire-related. If only they worked on motorcycles too! read more

Giving one star to the location not the company. Went in and purchased aftermarket wheels. They never told me about hub rings nor did they install them either. A week later I'm noticing vibrations that have I my progressed forcing me to do research and find out I needed hub rings. Went to a different location where I was helped and even offered the rings free. 1 star to this location, it seems like the employees here seem to think a little more about getting everyone out the door than doing the job right. read more

We stopped in on a Saturday expecting a long wait to repair. We were met immediately when we arrived in the lot. Our representative checked all our tires to see tread wear and then got us set up for service. In less than an hour our tire was repaired at no cost!!! Went in to have my tires rotated on anew 2014 Ram 3500 truck. Just had a little over 5,000 mile on it. The first thing the associate did was to try and sell me a NEW set of tires. I waited so long that I finally got up and left. I wrote a letter to corporate telling corporate of my very bad experience at that location. I will still deal with discount tire. Very unhappy, what they did to my vehicle made no sense to the right mind. In the span of a week I have been back to this discount tire shop 4 times. To start I needed a rotation on my bfg k02 tires. I had been about 8k miles without rotating and felt a very slight vibration that was not bothersome. After the rotation and balancing my steering wheel started shaking disturbingly at around 55-65mph (enough shake to bother your daily driver and alert that something isn't right. So I took it right back and they kindly balanced the wheels again and sent me on my way, this did not fix anything. On my day off I took the vehicle back for the 3rd time. I was explained that they had suspected something abnormal on both rear tires, at this time they replaced both rear tires and tried to sell me warranty. At this point they guarantee they had fix the issue. I was reluctant and asked if the manager can take a ride with me so he can visually witness any issue that may arise after this 3rd trip back. Not to my surprise the issue persist and the manager witnesses the steering wheel vibration and my hand moving left to right while driving. We then have a conversation and agree that the best thing at this point is to revert back to stock wheels (I have aftermarket wheels on my 4Runner) so today on my 4th day back a few of my friends suggested to place the current front set of wheels with tires back to the rear where I had them prior to coming the first time. Kindly discount tire did this and as expected the issue was resolved! I then took it back and explained my findings and this is what surprises me the the most. It was then suggested by discount tire to keep them the way they are! I explained that would mean that I didn't rotate my tires! He tried to explain his point of view but at the end of the day my tires are back to where they were before doing my rotation. Which means I will drive my car for another 6-8k miles before getting another rotation. That's about 12-16k miles after all is said and done! To me it's simple, the problem was caused by the 2 front tires that were previously in the rear so if any tires needed replacing it would be that set and not the rear. They did not offer replacement of those 2 front tires which to me seems to be the defective set. I did not try to argue because I believe my point was clear by swapping out the set I pin pointer which set the issue was. Is this good service? I'm shocked that after all this hassle and 4 trips to discount tire I'm back to square 1 which is pretty much no rotation! read more

Over the last 15 years whenever I've needed tires I've called around to almost everyplace imaginable trying to find the best deal and almost without exception the best tires at the best price I found at discount tires. The service is great. The guys are very helpful very friendly and they do a great job. If you can it's best to schedule an appointment however I've never had to wait incredibly long when I've just driven in. They have a great selection of tires from very expensive to mid range to lower price. They all come with a good guarantee like free flat repair and prorated replacement. One of the other great advantages is that there are discount tires all over Texas - I think also the United States, and this is very helpful if you do need to replace a tire or to have flat repair because you're guarantee is honored at all discount tire locations nationwide.
