Screw this location. Had an appointment set for new tires and show up they are flabbergasted yet another customer came in. The parking lot was packed to the brim with no spots and they barley had staff. They told me I'd have to wait until closing time for them to get to me. They accepted too many walk ins earlier in the day, and did not prioritize appointments. How wrong. Dropped off my car for a replacement tire or get the tire fixed. I made a 9am appointment and stated in the request that I would be picking up the car in the afternoon which I assumed would be more than enough time. It's now 3:30pm and my car would have never been worked on if I didn't show up in person to inquire about it. I know everywhere is busy, however, when I told the gentleman assisting me that I dropped off the car and made an appointment he responded with, "I had other appointments." Came here around 1 PM on a busy Saturday for a flat repair. I called ahead and they said I would have to leave the car, possibly until Sunday. Luckily I got a call by 3:45 PM Saturday that my flat was repaired, total charges were $29 plus tax. I am writing this review about 3 weeks later and all is good with the tire. Went in to have them look at slow leak on tire plus do an oil change. Made appt the day before but when we arrived, we were told that they were behind and it would take 2 hours vs 1 hour. We approved to go ahead and we waited in their waiting area. They were able to repair the tire which was very much appreciated. They also completed oil change in just less than 2 hours. I went in on a Tuesday to get a new tire or repair my flat. Took them three hours (with an appointment). According to the website, tires 10 years or older they wont repair but I was told that since mine were 4 years old they wouldn't repair it. It also has a hole on the sidewall I guess so it was doomed anyway. The man then proceeded to tell me it will be $180 for a tire and I also needed a $60 oil change. Never in my life have I paid more than $40 for an oil change lol. Luckily they came to me and apparently couldn't find the tire they wanted to rip me off with so went with a cheaper option and my total was $92 instead. They added $2.50 for disposal of the filter so after tax it came out to be about $24 which wasn't too bad for an oil change. We came without an appointment and waited about an hour and a half. They have a TV, clean bathrooms, magazines and a coffee machine while waiting. It was our first time coming here and we have heard horror stories about other places not filing up the full 5 liters or leaving the cap off so we checked the cap afterwards. So far so good; if all goes well, will definitely be coming back for more oil changes. Also love that you can see through the glass what they are doing to your car and that they are open on Sundays. Also, if you are plugging in the address on your GPS, it may be helpful to put 70 Lincoln Highway, not State Highway as I was unable to find State Highway on my GPS. read more

On 11/17 I went to have my tires replaced. When I get the car back, I noticed after a few days that one of the lugnuts is stripped of its casing. This shows that their technicians did not have the integrity to admit he damaged my property and take the initiative to replace the damaged part. I had to go after them. I then bring my car on 11/24 and leave my car with them for 6 hours . They tend to my car last for a re-alignment. Even after the re-alignment they still forgot to replace the lugnut. But it turns out they got the wrong lugnut for my car so I wasted a whole day. It's now the next day and I don't have a call first this in the morning like I would expect after these series of screw-ups. Just a poorly and unprofessionally run operation. read more

Then, they said it would be a few hours, and they would call me to pick up my car. When I went to pick it up I found they had just repaired one tire. First thing first: Search for COUPONS for this store! The address on Yelp is not accurate, please use map to navigate. Arrived around 9:30am and my car was picked 40 mins later. Got my inspection result at 11:00AM. Decided to change 4 brake pads and rotors and 2 tires, agreed to pick up my car at 6:00pm. Around 5:00pm, got the call to pick up my car. 4 stars are based on above experience. -1 star is because you have to do the RESEARCH first, or they will over charge you with every unnecessary services and small parts. Make sure you know what they are trying to replace and the price of the parts online which will give you some leverages to bargain. A coworker of mine highly recommended this car maintenance place to me after hearing about my miserable experience with Sear Auto Center in Jersey City. I was very happy to find this place. We usually schedule our maintenance online ahead of time to avoid the wait time. Staff members are very helpful, professional and friendly. Went for oil change , which is way above the normal price btw, they automatically check your whole car and charge an extra $20 for it. Long , short. I had a tire that needed to be fixed. The dude said it would take about 45 min... fine.. They took my car within 10 minutes. EVERYONE is nice at this place, great customer service (why I gave it 2 stars) BBBUUUTTTTT! It took 45 min to actually PATCH the tire. I have never watched anyone move as slowly as this dude. I was watching cars come and go while this dude was leaning on my tire asking questions. The next day, my luck, I popped my tire on another nail. I was going to put on a doughnut and the slow man effin stripped my lug nut! Now - sh*t happens, but tell a bish! I call the location, they said they will fix it and they asked the tech about the lug nut and he said he stripped it. Then the tech explained that it happens and that it is wear and tear. AND that the guy should have told me about it. DUDE! I called AAA and after some work, he was able to get it off. (avoid the Montclair branch) Mo, the service advisor was friendly and courteous and took his time with me despite the busy holiday rush. He then referred me to the tech, Nick, to whom I explained the whole debacle at the Montclair branch. He took the keys and not an hour goes by before he hands them back with a smile. This is my second time going to Firestone and every time I go I regret it because whatever the issue is gets worse. My oil light was on and I took my car to them for an oil change and to be diagnosed. They changed my oil but this did not fix the issue. It took going to my regular shop after the oil light was still on after my oil change to realize that I was missing a quart and a half of oil and the oil light was not reset. They gave me recommendations for various things but nothing they recommended had anything to do with the engine component and wouldn't explain why I lost so much oil. Please don't take you car here for anything. The prices of the tires are outrageous and many of the recommendations they make, they are incapable of completing correctly. Usually i write a rave review about firestone in this location. I come from Bayonne (which also has a firestone) to this jersey city location because they have always been great to me. There was a gentleman named Ronnie that always took care of me and was always so nice. I'm assuming he doesn't work here no longer because i haven't seen him the last couple of times i have been here. Today, i come in to get my oil change and the price went up. I spoke to, who I'm assuming is the manager (Mack) who said the price is the price unless there is a coupon - now i come here and have looked on my statement since i can remember when, my oil change has been 54.27. No matter there is a "coupon" or not, i have received the same price. Today it goes up? I think i should be honored the same price as the coupon price as i travel here for the service. Well not anymore. I will not waste my gas or mileage coming to jersey city location any longer. Mack didn't even try to give me excellent customer service. I wish there was a no star or negative star option. I took my car there when I had some shaking upon breaking and they replaced a wheel bearing and hub that I supposedly needed (guys told me if I didn't prior to my 1500 mile trip to Canada, I would lose a wheel on the highway). Afterward, the NEW bearing kept making noise (never happened before) when driving for long periods of time so I took it back and they supposedly changed it for a new one. Well, the noise has kept on happening to this day (5 months later) and they keep acting like nothing is wrong. In the end, it turns out I never needed the bearings or hubs, just some resurfacing of my rotors or new rotors. They also SUCK at alignments, and their pricing is outrageous. Also, if a car (say, mine) needs a specific kind of oil (0W40 European Formula) they will find whatever they can, and whatever is cheap. Oddly enough, I went to another Firestone and got a price quote for some front end repair that was almost TWO THOUSAND (Yes, $2,000) LESS than the guy in Jersey City quoted me. DO NOT RECOMMEND, NOT EVEN FOR A 1991 COROLLA. read more

Tal O. Said it all! As a woman, you learn to become skeptical and jaded when dealing with mechanics, but I feel very comfortable taking my car here. When I take my car to have an oil change, the guys there are very respectful and professional (why can't all men who work with cars be this way!!!!!!). What I also am thankful for is that I don't leave with a laundry list of suggested fictional crap that costs an arm and a leg to get done to my car! How many times has a woman walked into an auto shop to get her car serviced and walked out thinking... "I need a new ______ (fill in the blank)?? I just wanted my tires rotated.... Do I really?" These guys aren't pushers and I find that extremely refreshing. They also have never price gouged me. When I do research on the work, parts, and costs of things before I take my car in for something (so I'm prepared to give 'the look'), I'm always pleasantly surprised that they charge on the lower end of what I've looked up.
