OMG. A true series of unfortunate events I have been driving around with my tire indicator shining bright on my dashboard and kept stalling, telling myself I would deal with it later. Bad idea. I just got off the Hugh Tunnel on my way to Jersey for work, heading toward the Lincoln, when I suddenly heard the weirdest noises. Next thing I know, my tire completely busted. You pull up front day or night without an appointment and with a flat tire or tire going flat, and you are greeted by a man out on the sidewalk in front of the ... with a rolling jack who immediately jacks up your car and with a power lug nut remover, pulls your wheel off and rolls it into the shop ... and all of this happens in less than 10 minutes. If you like, you can walk right in and watch him immediately pull the tire off the rim with his machine, plug the tire, put it back on the rim, and fill it with air. Within minutes, he installs the wheel back on the car, and within 20 minutes of pulling in you are out of there with your repaired tire, mounted and rolling on your car. I am a Manhattan resident and drive a lot at night and on occasion pick up a nail or a screw. If I am far from the shop, I change the wheel myself and then drive into the shop and they plug the wheel and put it back on my car and put away my spare ... WITHIN MINUTES! The team here is friendly, responsive, practical and goes the extra step to make sure everything is right. They aired my other tires, fixed the flat, put my spare and repaired tire back, and had me driving away in about half an hour. The cost was reasonable. They also sell tires, and will order the tires you want. I cant complain. Ive been dealing with a slow leak in my rear passenger tire for at least a month now and decided to stop by carlos' to get my tire plugged. I only had to wait about 5 minutes in line before one of the guys jacked my car up and got to work. They found three nails in my tire and I watched the guy take them out to make sure he didn't plant them, I know, I don't trust mechanics. He even retested each plug. He said he'd charge me $20 for the total amount of work which seems fair seeing how its really supposed to be $15 per plug. This past Thursday we were going to Providence leaving at 10AM but when I got the car I noted that the left rear tire was very low. I had picked up a nail.
