I was towed here after my tire blew out. After they evaluated the damage and saw I needed a new tire, I was told they only have new tires and it would cost me $130. I was then told they don't accept card on the weekends (it was Sunday afternoon) and I needed to pay in cash. I ended up using Zelle to send the guys boss the money. They're good for plugs where they only hit you for $20 or so but god forbid you buy a tire form them you're getting the cheapest tire at nearly 2x the price. They sold me a $60 tire for $120!!. What a lifesaver! Some small metal pieces pierced my tire, and Triple AAA couldn't help because the bolts on my (old) spare tire didn't match the bolts on my flat tire. Saved the day! I got a flat in midtown and needed a quick fix, I headed to Carlo's and they literally saved the day! 1 pulled up, a guy came out with a jack, removed the wheel in less than 2 mins, showed me the nail in the tire and said it would be $15 to fix. Many many things went wrong this time (note I gave them a 5 star review after my first visit). Here goes .... 1. I show up with a flat, they fix it quickly, and then I ask how much and they guy says $20. While I did not recall correctly at the time, the price is $15, so the guy decided to give himself a $5 tip. 2. A day or two later, the tire is low again. I am busy for a few days and then take the car back in, they confirm that the patch is leaking and needs to be redone. 3. After repairing it they ask me for $15. I ask them why, since they just repaired it and the first repair was not done properly. They say too bad, maybe they would not charge me if a brought it right back. This makes no sense as it was a slow leak that did not trigger my tire pressure monitor for at least 24 hours. So now I am at $35 and two trips, and not very happy. 4. I give the guy a $20 and he give me $5 change. He gets angry at me because of how a took the $5 change back from him apparently i pulled it too hard or fast). Are you kidding me? I was overcharged on two instances totaling $20, I had to make two trips, and they are giving me attitude. It does not get much worse than this. Have not decided if i am going to try to pull my earlier review or not.. read more

Best Service ever! Had an annoying little accident with a truck in midtown that flattened my driver's side front tire. I put the spare tire on and received a helpful tip to go to Carlos Flat Fix. Pulled into the front of the storefront on W45th st (between 10th and 11th Ave) where a friendly person from the shop immediately greeted me, and had the tire replaced in under 10 minutes! They did this right in front of their storefront! Great service! Usually it takes at least 3 hours with a bunch of headache when it involves car repair anywhere else. This 10 minute service during busy rushhour in midtown. These guys were quick, efficient, friendly and did the work in record time. I was about to put the spare back in the the trunk, and they even had the courtesy to check the spare and put air in it for free! I hope i never have emergency tire issues, but i do, its nice to know that this place is open 24/7 and will take care of a flat tire in record time! read more

I've been here a few times years ago and I've noticed that a lot of cabbies come here, so when I recently found myself in need of a tire I came here. There aren't that many tire shops in midtown or lower Manhattan, so if you find yourself with an issue you won't have many options. The guys here are quick, knowledgeable and cheap (for Manhattan), but since it's a small place you may want to call to see if they have your tire size. The reviews are all true!!! We had a leaking tire and filled it with air four times in one day when we had to face the fact that we were in trouble. Since we live in manhattan we feared the worst... Falling into the grip of a dishonest mechanic. Searching on line for tire repair we read the yelp reviews and could not believe all the good things we read about this place... But we thought it worth a try and drove down to 45th street.. Traffic was miserable, but after nearly an hour we arrived... We soon realized there was no "garage shop" to drive into and they were doing the work at the curb... But in seven minutes the tire was off...tested...the leak was found ...plugged AND the tire was back on the car... All for $15 ... And the two men running the shop were really nice...
