August 15, 2020 This is my second visit to this business in 8 months. I live about 20 minutes away in Essex county. Last time I came because it was the only place open until evening on a Sunday. This time I just wanted to come again. And I realized one of the reasons I like this place so much. It's SPOTLESS! You can see the inside of the garage as the men are working on your car. Every inch of this place is clean. There is no oil and no grime or dirt on the floor. There is no old black-brownish grime in the corners. You can easily see the places where the floors meet the walls and they are clean. Since COVID-19 my car has been sitting mostly without an oil change which was due about 3 months ago. My car was eating gas and I figured the engine needed to be cleaned and the oil changed. But of course I was busy working from home so I added 2 quarts of oil and kept it moving. When I got here and ordered the engine (motor oil) flush, the guy recommended I change the cabin and air filter. I thought he was just trying to talk me up until he went into my car and showed me what they looked like. The air filter didn't look that bad but the cabin air filter was disgusting. It had never been changed and my longtime mechanic forgot to replace its frame and cover the last time he went in there. It was completely black. After I drove it on the highway I could feel the difference. The car just ran better and when I checked the engine dip stick it came out clean. My car is 9 years old. Usually after an oil change some of the grime from the old oil that has broken down usually colors the stick. It never comes out completely clean even after the oil has been changed. But the engine flush really helped. I highly recommend this place. Not only does the owner care about her business but the employees really care too. So far they have been helpful, transparent, and they keep the place REALLY CLEAN. read more

I have reached out to the owner multiple times via email to report this severe safety breach, and she has ignored me. I am preparing documentation for the police report for criminal cyber harassment. They have customer home addresses on file; avoid this place at all costs for your own safety. read more

I just pulled up to Flash Lube, as I have 5 other times in the past, to get a tire plug for my tire leaking air. A worker said no problem and to wait for one car ahead of me. Then another worker came out from nowhere, a manager I believe, who would not provide his name and told me they couldn't plug my tire. I told him I've been here before and had the same tires done here but he refused me service. I had no issue with anyone. Very bizarre experience to turn away business and for no reason other than he didn't feel like doing the work? I would love to just be able to pass up money-making opportunities like that. The manager must be doing very well for himself. I asked him to not insult my intelligence and instead of lying saying he can't fix the type of tire l've had done here before to just be honest and say he doesn't feel like doing it. I have a call in to the owner, Lupita. Hopefully she can resolve this weird and unpleasant experience. I came here needing an oil change for the first time and the package that they offer is amazing. I got an oil change for 69.95 full synthetic and the things that were included were amazing. Including topping off the washer fluid and the coolant filling it up to the max and also filling up your tires to the recommended air pressure which is amazing. I am going to give this place 2 stars instead of 1 because of the good times I had the two times prior to the very last one. My oil change came out to $70 instead of the usual "because all we have is the premium stuff". You could have told me that before starting on my car. And what kind of oil place only has one type of oil available but a "menu" featuring numerous oils and price points? Right after opening for the day? I was flabbergasted. This place is amazing went there today before doing anything they talked to me and told me what oil my car uses how much it would be and if there was anything wrong with it. The cashiers are friendly and when you ask them a question they would answer right away or they would let you talk to the mechanics. After going to about 5 well know auto mechanics in Jersey city I though I would not get a chance to have my oil change. I came across this flash lube and the guys there where great. Very clean place in and out, huge parking area as well. The minute I got in VICENTE treated me like no other mechanic had very welcoming and respectful. Told me the different kind of oils I can put in my car and gave me a breakdown of other services they do there as well for engine treatment. I went to the waiting area and in about 15 minutes car was ready. The car is running much smoother now I'm really happy I finally met a place with happy workers and that you can tell they love what they do. I'm looking forward to bringing my car here from now on and I'm going to bring more people here. This place is definitely best spot in new Jersey for a oil change, thanks guys. read more

This should say it is only a deal if you have an American car. Because I paid nearly 100.00 for this oil change. This was not the deal I expected. If you bring a Volkswage foreign car expect to pay much more than the 29.95 that is the regular offer. Plus they charged me for extra oil and a special filter. Updated reply to owner.: I was only offered a $5 discount from yelp check-in. I was not offered any other discounts. At the time of the oil change, I thought the place was great. Quick, and fairly priced if a little on the expensive side. However, after my recent road trip I will never be going back here again. Midway between my drive from Hoboken to Upstate NY, I heard a strange noise coming from the front of my car. After pulling over to the side of the road, I discovered that the shield under my engine had started to detach. After luckily finding a mechanic in the middle of god knows where Pennsylvania, I was told the issue was that the shield was missing clips and that probably the last time my car went in for an oil change, someone forgot to reattach them to my car. After a quick repair job I was back on the road again with no more issues. I really don't care that Flash Lube is convenient to me; if I can't trust them to do a simple oil change correctly, I am really not going to trust them with anything in the future. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My husband and I go an oil change done by Flash Lube on June 2nd and on June 4th we were on the side of the road. My husband and I saw something fly from the bottom of the car. I quickly pulled off to the side of the road only to see oil pouring from the bottom of our car and our engine bellowing smoke. We have been on the phone with them multiple times to try to get things figured out. Obviously this is an oil problem and all they have done is given us the run around. They are saying "if it's their problem then they will pay for it" and being incredibly rude. read more

I took quotes from a number of places, and was particularly pleased to find this place practically around the corner from where I live in Union City. Rather than spend time waiting for a quote, I walked over Saturday morning. Had a friendly, businesslike conversation with the guy in charge, and brought the car right over 1/2 an hour later. I was impressed with all the additional services besides the "oil change" that were thrown in, and am entirely happy with the service. Having just moved to the area, I am happy to establish a local garage in whom I have confidence! Unfortunately, this place did try to charge me extra for item which was included in part of the service package. The service was quick and yelp check-in coupon was great. However, the person charged me $4.75 extra for the oil filter when $18.95 oil change description was "oil change and filter lab". Pretty disappointed, I showed up at 630pm for an oil change and the techs told me my oil filter casing was leaking oil and they couldn't perform an oil change and it needed to go to the dealer for service. Took it to the dealer and it was fine, clear the techs did not want to do an oil change so close to closing time which is fine but tell me that at least. Changed my car oil here and within me driving less than 100 miles, I was advised that I needed an oil change. I just did the oil change in flash lube so it shouldnt be happening. I take my car to the dealership to get serviced and they advised no one changed my oil. Great business. They were quick to service my car. I got the synthetic oil change and they did the usual check up of other fluids and such. Yea they had their recommendations of engine flush and transmission flush and other stuff but a simple no was sufficient. In other words, they don't force anything on you. The garage is super clean and organized which shows the type of business they run. I'll definitely be back when it's time for my oil change again. Dont trust their work. They ripped me off for no reason... TWICE!!! I have been coming here for years and trusted the workers did their job with a simple oil change. When I went recently, the mechanic left a tire screw loose and I had to come back because my tire was nearly flat. I expressed my concern over the service and was more than polite and nice about it. Fast forward a week 1/2 later, my engine light starts making several loud noises. Turns out during the initial oil change, they used the wrong screw and didn't tighten the engine, which led to my car leaking the entire time. The reason I found this out is because of my car lights AND I ended up getting a flat tire on the tire they left loose! On a dangerous 2 lane highway with no place to pull over. How businesses can rip off innocent customers is disgusting and immoral. Your business should be ashamed of how you could lead customers into a dangerous position or a serious car accident. Please do not come here for service or business, they CANNOT be trusted. read more

Half way on my way home for Christmas the wiper fluid ran out (never checked or filled), tires were way low (never checked or filled) too. So they lie about taking care of these things. I've been going here on and off for about 3 years for oil changes . Every time they come with the up sell, I need fuel injEction cLeAning , I need air filter, I need a flux capacitor, etc... This time I refuse . So they race through my oil change . When I entered my low tire presssure light was on. When I left , it was still on. DO NOT get anything done from this place except oil change. Whenever you go for Oil change they find unnecessary faults in your car and try to sell more than oil change. This happened to me everytime in the last 4 visits to this place. Please be very careful when you go there, do not get anything done or fixed at this place. They are basically rip off and try to mint more money. For last visit instead of me, my wife visited for oil change and they again tried to sell more to her, like changing spark plugs . They literally over charged her for spark plugs. No clear costs distinction for part or labour. They just charged $189 . Which is way over priced for changing spark plugs. Then they charged me twice. I asked for a refund of the extra service and they made me come in and proceeded to be AGGRESSIVE and and CONFRONTATIONAL. .
